  • "We have stayed at Brantfell Lodge before and once again we had a lovely holiday."

The cottage is comfortable and welcoming, providing everything we needed in order to enjoy our stay here. The close proximity to shops and transport is a bonus and means that we could all enjoy visiting the many village in the area. We have already booked the cottage for later in the year.

Thank you for your smashing review, for returning again and for booking later on in the year. That’s the best recommendation! Property Owner

  • "Brantfell Lodge is in a great location and although near all of the towns attractions, shops and hospitality venues you wouldn't know as very quiet spot."

The Lodge had all the equipment we needed and was very clean. The garden was secure for our dog too. Only feedback I have is specify on the facilities that the garden/drive can be made enclosed/secure when the gate is shut as I didn't know for sure until the joining information came through. Will definitely re-book.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. We will take your suggestions into consideration and review with the owner. We are so glad that you enjoyed the property and all it's location has to offer. Lakelovers Owner Team Thank you for your valuable feedback, writes the owner. There is no room on the property listing form to say the gates can be shut except to say the garden is enclosed. I’m sorry the accuracy of the listing could have impacted upon your stay and affected the rating you gave for its cleanliness, comfort and facilities. I am delighted however you would be happy to return. Property Owner

  • "I’d highly recommend Brantfell lodge."

Location, with easy walk into the town centre was a big plus. It was cosy, clean and ample parking for two cars. The kitchen/diner area was great for cooking whilst still socialising, great cosy living room area, and decent sized bedrooms with enough bathrooms for the six of us. We had a great time here, thank you ☺️

I am so delighted you enjoyed your stay at Brantfell Lodge and thank you for your recommendation. Hoping you will return! Property Owner

  • "Lovely house only a few minutes walk to Bowness on Windermere and all it has to offer."

The house was well equipped, comfortable, clean, warm and hot water on demand. It would have been helpful if a steamer was provided. Most holiday houses don’t though. Also it would have been nice to have had welcome pack or at least a bottle of milk provided . Especially if guests are arriving late or have to go out shopping once unpacked. We had shopped on the way. The radiator in the en-suite toilet wouldn’t turn off or turn down. Parking was a bit tricky, but soon figured out. The house is on a blind corner and one has to choose the right moment to drive out and when crossing the road when traffic is coming from the right from Bowness. If the council could put up a concealed entrance sign warning traffic, they may slow down. We loved our stay at Brantfell Lodge and would love to stay again at some point.

Thank you for your positive feedback. The radiator issue will be addressed. If a welcome pack were to be provided, what ideally would you like to be included? Although as you say in general people do their shop before arriving. For future reference if you return, which I hope you will do, it is best to turn left out of the gate then first left again and then right onto Kendal Road. Property Owner

  • "This is the second time we have stayed at Brantfell Lodge."

The location is amazing for walking to both Lake Windermere and Bowness shops and restaurants. The property is clean and well-equipped. A little dated but still very comfortable. The central heating/heated towel rail in the upstairs bathroom was rather noisy but we were able to resolve this ourselves by moving the valve a little to open it further. Beautifully warm heating for colder days. The parking in front of the house was fine but hard to turn around to go back down the drive as the trees were a little overgrown. A really lovely place to stay and would use it again.

Thank you for your lovely feedback, I am so glad you enjoyed your stay and would return. Best to reverse so car is facing directly down the drive and I promise we’ll keep on top of the bushes! Property Owner

  • "We loved our time at this cottage."

It was very clean on arrival and was comfortable and cosy. We loved the location. It was easy to walk into Bowness and visit the many pubs, restaurants and shops. It was great having such good access to the Lake Windermere, from where we enjoyed several boat trips. Bowness is a lovely location to start several excellent walks, which meant that we did not use the car every day. Brantfell l Lodge has a lovely layout. It has everything you need. The bedrooms are all a good size and the beds are very comfortable. The kitchen as well stocked with everything you need. It also has a lovely garden. It was very peaceful. Just what we needed. We are experienced holiday cottage renters. This is our favourite by far. We will certainly be returning to this property in the future.

Thank you such positive feedback is so wonderful to hear - looking forward to your return! Property Owner

  • "Everything at the property was as described and perfect."

The only exception to this statement was the mattress on the bed in the front bedroom. This needs to be replaced as the springs make creaking sounds every time you moved / turned whilst laying on it, and is uncomfortable. Location wise, it was great. Tucked away around behind the main round, but only a 5-minute walk to Bowness town centre, which is very well catered for everything a holiday needs. Yes, leaving the drive of the property needs a bit more care, as it is on a blind corner from traffic approaching from Bowness (right side). Shame the weather did not behave itself! We would love to return again one day, on the proviso that the mattress in the front bedroom is replaced.

Thank you for your positive review. I am delighted you enjoyed your stay - do return, the mattress has been replaced by a top of the range luxury 2000 sprung pocket five star hotel standard one! Property Owner
