  • "Wonderful Stay at Tispy Bee We recently had the pleasure of staying at the stylish and relaxing Tispy Bee, fantastically located in the heart of the Lake District."

Credit to the owners for the wonderful design and amenities that made our stay so comfortable. The cottage’s decor is both chic and cozy, and we especially appreciated the comfy beds and sofa after all of our walks and climbing! The house is well-equipped with plenty of plates, cups, glasses, and more, ensuring we had everything we needed. The location is perfect for exploring the beautiful Lakes. It’s just a short walk into picturesque Bowness, which boasts some fantastic bars and restaurants. A bit further, Windermere also offers great places to eat and drink. We are an active couple with a four legged friend and enjoyed a lot of great hikes and treks all with a starting point of the Tipsy bee. A walk we would highly recommend is the to Wray Castle you can cross the Ferry for £1.10 down at the marina and is a round trip of 19km. We also summited Scarfel Pike, we drove to the car park in Wasdale it was around an hours drive but a very scenic route and well worth the walk. During our stay, our favorite place to eat was Porto, where we enjoyed a lovely table on their idyllic terrace. For lighter bites during the day, we loved Home Ground in Windermere, which offers great brunch and lunch options; you may have to queue, but it’s worth the wait. Another top find was the gorgeous outdoor terrace at Craig Manor. We enjoyed a cocktail on the newly refurbished terrace, although the kitchen closing at 2:30 pm was a slight drawback. Overall, our stay at Tispy Bee was simply wonderful, thanks to the thoughtful design and amenities provided by the owners.

  • "We had a great time at TipsyBee the beds were so comfortable."

We had a slight problem with the induction hob, being if a certain age, but we managed. The furniture in the lounge was comfortable too. Perhaps a non-slip shower mat would be useful for those more elderly or handicapped.

Thank you so much for your feedback , we are really pleased you enjoyed Tipsy Bee! Thanks for the bath / shower mat suggestion. We hope to welcome you back soon , Shelley & Carl . Property Owner

  • "The property is in a really good location a short stroll from Bowness but far enough away to be quiet."

The bedrooms are very comfortable and the upstairs lounge is a lovely space to relax in after a day out. The property was very clean and maintained and had an abundance of plates, glasses, cutlery which you sometimes don’t get in rental properties. I would definitely recommend the Tipsy Bee and Sykes to anyone thinking of heading up to Bowness and would stay then again ourselves, it was perfect for our family weekend away.

Hi Simon , we are so pleased that you and your family enjoyed Tipsy Bee ! Thank you so much for the 5 star recommendation , that means the world to us ! Hopefully we will See you back in Bowness soon , Shelley & Carl Property Owner

  • "Absolutely fabulous stay at the Tipsy Bee."

The owners have thought of everything and it really is a home from home. The decor is beautiful, beds super comfortable, towels/bedlinen crisp, finished to a very high standard and all modern appliances. We had our 10month baby with us and managed to fit a travel cot in the top floor bedroom. The living room was so cosy and we spent the evenings with the fire on playing board games. The only negative I will comment on is the check in and check out time; I do think this should be reconsidered. As a family of 6 travelling 2 hours to the lakes, we wanted to make the most of the days we had there so arrived for 11 and had to wait until 4pm to check in. This meant we had to pay for parking and leave our cars with our bags on show for 5 hours which was not ideal. The same for check out, 10am is very early compared to hotels and many other rentals/ bnbs I have stayed at. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody wanting to visit the lakes as a group!

Hi Lauren , thanks so much for your feedback , we really appreciate it ! Absolutely delighted you loved your stay at Tipsy Bee ! We hope to welcome you back one day , Shelley & Carl Property Owner

  • "Absolutely loved the Tipsy Bee."

The decor was unreal. As soon as we stepped foot inside I wanted to contact the owners to say thank you. We were blown away. Loved all the rooms. Had a great stay. The beds were really comfortable and the living room was fab. Had everything we needed. Such a lovely place and a great location. Note to owners: The kitchen light was temperamental. Wouldn’t always work. Maybe a loose wire? I reported it to Lakelovers so hopefully this is now sorted. This didn’t affect our stay

Dear Helen , thank you so much for your feedback. I am so pleased you love Tipsy Bee as much as we do . Thank you for your note re the light , we hadn't heard anything until this review, so we have now reached out ! Shelley & Carl Property Owner
