"It's an absolutely stunning cottage in a beautiful location."
The views from the garden are amazing. Loved having the seating areas outside to relax on. And the cottage itself is highly equipped with everything you need.
We all had an amazing time away, it just went too fast.
The only thing which is a very small thing.
Maybe a small thing welcoming you to the cottage would be nice. A pint of milk on the fridge, a few tea bags that kind of thing. There was nothing at all.
Apart from a coffee machine with no pods provided which we found slightly bizarre.
Appreciate it's a self catering cottage but the little touches matter. Even a pack of eggs from your lovely neighbour across the road would be nice.
When you read the visitor book past people have mentioned a welcome pack. I think of you offer it to some but not others it's not a good touch. Consistency is key. However we did love our week away and hopefully will return one day.
Thank you for your kind comments about our cottage.
We used to provide a welcome pack but as so many of them were unused and had to be disposed of as we are unable to use them for the next guests, we decided that the waste was not sustainable and we stopped providing packs.
The eggs from our neighbours are lovely and we buy them ourselves. Unfortunately the regulations governing the sale of eggs from the farm gate or the doorstep means that they have to be bought directly by the end consumers so we are unable to provide these eggs to our guests.
We hope to welcome you again sometime in the future.

"Had an amazing week in an amazing cottage."
So peaceful and relaxing with stunning views. Cottage had everything needed and very comfortable and spacious and kitchen equipped with everything even a good frying pan which is always a bonus. Weather was also perfect.
Our 7th visit to the lakes but the cottage was by far the best we have stayed in so will definitely will be back. Only downside was that we had to come home. Thank you for letting us use your cottage.
Thank you for very kind comments.
We agree with you about a good frying pan and we believe you have to travel a long way to beat the view down the valley.
We look forward to welcoming you again.

"We had an absolutely fabulous week !"
Thank you. Definitely 5 stars. Accommodation was wonderful, they have thought of everything and we couldn’t fault it. Perfect for a quiet week away. However, easy to travel to some beautiful places. Gave us great peace of mind to know our two dogs were safe in the gorgeous garden. Lovely walks, great pub’s nearby and very comfortable beds. Property was perfect for the six of us was great. Two lounges allowed for a welcome space between adults and kids ! Would definitely return
Thank you for your very positive feedback.
We are glad you enjoyed the cottage so much. Our dog enjoys pheasant hunting in the garden and we hope your dogs had similar fun.
We hope to welcome you back.

"This cottage was a fantastic accommodation, the kitchen was very well equipped (sharp knives a bonus) good size dining table, and comfortable seating area."
Up in the upper lounge another area to retire to in the evenings watch the sun setting.
Upstairs three bedrooms, all with shower on suit, two accommodating kingsize (very comfortable beds) the third two twin beds. All good quality linen. Bathroom towels reasonably goid except one small hand towel had a hole in it.
The bedroom itself appears clean except there is dust on the walls and expecially behind the wardrobe in front top room. (losing stars for cleanliness).
Coming back down the stairs to the hallway, the walls look rather tired and in need of painting due to lots of black scuff marks on the walls.
The utility/boot room is a fantasic add enabling to dry off your dog, boots/rainwear.
The garden absolutely spot on, enclosed and safe for the dogs and very pleasant to sit out in an evening.
Location wise, very rural (with lots of contry nature sounds), a very narrow lane to reach the property with quite a few serious pot holes.
We visited the The Masons Arms pub at the top of the lane, highly recommend booking a table, meals were freshly cooked and very tasty.
It was nice being able to return each evening to this lovely cottage and be able to relax.
Thank you your kind review. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay at the cottage and hope you will visit us again.

"Absolutely loved the cottage and location."
The peace and quiet is hard to find these days We were so lucky as the sun shone all week which is pretty rare in the lakes. The roads around this area are very narrow single track but very rarely did we meet another car.
I took my ebike which is a great way to see the area which has some big hills . l couldn't have done it on a normal one not being as young or fit as l used to be
Thank you for your kind feedback. I’m glad you enjoyed the peace and quiet of the cottage and had such beautiful weather. A bike is indeed a great way to explore the area and I hope you found the bike store useful.

"A fantastic cottage in an absolutely beautiful spot."
There was everything that we could possibly have needed! The showers were brilliant, superbly hot and powerful. The dogs thought the garden was great....not sure the pheasants were quite so keen on them! Overall I would thoroughly recommend the cottage, and hope to return at some point in the future.
Thank you for your kind review. We look forward to your visiting again.
I’m glad your dogs enjoyed the garden, it’s good to keep the pheasants on their toes!

"A wonderful place to stay that had everything we asked for."
We were unsure of how cozy it would be due to the stone floors but it exceeded our expectations. It was a super cozy cottage, really comfy beds, lovely hot powerful showers and a fantastic garden for both humans and dogs to explore. Fresh eggs each day which were available to buy roadside opposite the cottage. Great location with beautiful views and a lovely stroll away from the Mason Arms for an afternoon drink or bite to eat. Lots to do within a short drive too. We did a self drive boat hire on Windermere which was great fun, trip to the Beatrix Potter museum which is great for both children and adults and we took in a film on a rainy afternoon at the independent cinema in the brewery arts centre which was a lovely experience. Highly recommend and would definitely book to stay again. Thank you

"Fab cottage."
Absolutely great.
One issue we had was water. The house is on a private supply, coming from a bore hole which is managed by the cottage next door. (Lovely neighbours, by the way. Very helpful). There was something wrong with the pump for two days while we were there, so water supply was intermittent.
In reality all was fine, but it could have been a lot worse, and potentially very disruptive to a holiday. We'd still go back, however. As the problem seemed to be a rare one: not one which you'd expect to happen regularly.
Before we worked out what the problem was, we called the Sykes emergency helpline. Ended up talking to their maintenance guy called Steve - he was a superstar. In the end he didn't need to come out - the neighbours solved it before he got to us - but he was class.
Thank you for being so understanding of the water situation.
The cottage is in a remote area and, as you say, does rely on a private water supply. We hope that this did not impact your holiday too much. The cause of the issue was the bore hole pump failing and this is being resolved. Unfortunately, there was also an issue with the secondary water supply, which would normally have replaced the bore hole supply, at the same time. This has been resolved so further water issues are unlikely.
You are right about our neighbours and Lakelovers maintenance, Steve and his team are always responsive and do a great job.
We are glad you liked the cottage and hope you will visit us again.

"This was a wonderful holiday cottage, in a beautiful, tranquil location."
It surpassed my expectations, and one of the nicest cottages I've stayed in in the Lakes. The kitchen was incredible well equipped, with a higher standard of equipment and appliances than usually expect from a holiday let. The beds were comfy, the views beautiful. The gardens and grounds were lovely to sit in, with plenty of different seating areas depending on whether you want sun or shade. Having two living areas rather than one large open plan living space really suits our family on holiday as well. Really hope to come back here again, and see the fells outside the door, and the pheasants and woodpeckers in the garden every morning.
Thank you for your lovely feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the cottage and hope you will visit again.
