Perfectly located for a short break in the town: right next to shops, cafés and pubs, but also in a quiet side street, so there was very little noise at night.

Compact living space with very comfortable sofa and chairs, and a well-planned and equipped kitchen (although a second shelf in the oven would be useful). Comfortable beds and modern bathrooms.Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends visiting Kendal.Directions should maybe mention that you're not allowed to turn straight into Stricklandgate when coming from the north, but have to go around the one-way system and then turn left.

We enjoyed a lovely weekend in the cottage with our grandchildren.

They were particularly excited to be up on the top floor and to have their own bathroom. Thé cottage was very clean and comfortable and right in the centre of Kendal so we had easy access to everything. Would definitely recommend

Amazing cottage, a few steps away from M&S and Booths, and a few minutes away from the bus station - which for me makes the location perfect.

Great kitchen very well furnished. Comfy living room once you find out how to operate the fake fireplace. Bed (double) is extremely comfortable, plenty of extra blankets available in the bedrooms. The ability to control heating is a big bonus. Great to have a washing machine and 2 big towel racks. I would definitely stay again!

The cottage is very quiet. We had a great time. The welcome pack was appreciated and the Owners were very helpful. Nobles Rest Park is a lovely green area which the dog enjoyed and was only a couple of minutes away; turning right up the alley by the cottage up the steps and right by the black bin..Would definitely stay again

This was a fantastic place to stay with everything you need on your doorstep .

Lovely welcome pack with essentials in there to which was a lovely touch . We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and so did the teenagers . If you do have a dog there is only one way in and out so you’d have to taje out on lead as facing is booths car park . This didn’t make a difference our dog loved it . Everything you need to cook in there and it was lovely and cozy we played many games and quizzes after our days exploring the town .

21 Entry Lane is a charming little cottage right in the heart of Kendal.

Although our sat nav took us to the upper car park of Booths, a very friendly local lady told us to go down to the lower level and exit the car park to find the cottage on our left, directly opposite our perfect breakfast location Booths cafe. The property was even better than the listing on Sykes with everything that we needed provided including a lovely welcome pack. The owners texted us to let us know that we could check in early and were only a text away when we needed to ask a question. We had a wonderful stay although we were glad that we left our dog with family as it would have been difficult to just let him out to do his business as the exit was directly onto the street with no garden or yard , however, a fantastic little cottage for us. We will definitely be back.

I had a very enjoyable four-night stay at 21 Entry Lane.

The cottage is in a great location in the centre of Kendal, with excellent access to local facilites. Very clean and comfortable. The milk and biscuits supplied by the owners were very welcome, and the fresh flowers were a lovely welcoming touch. I travelled by train to Kendal, and it was an easy half-mile walk to the cottage from the station. I would happily stay there again.

Nice place close to shops and nice and peaceful perfect place to unwind.

The property was right in the centre of Kendal and convenient for all amenities.

A parking permit was provided for car park nearby, we left our car there all wk and used local buses too Keswick, Windermere, Ambleside ,Grange over Sands to name a few. The property was spotlessly clean, if I had one small criticism the cupboards in the kitchen had way to much crockery, pans etc for a small cottage only sleeping 2 - 4 people and there was no room to put any basic food items. That said I would recommend staying here.?

We had a lovely stay and my only negative is we didn’t get to stay longer! Property is clean and so comfortable. It has everything you need. The location is peaceful too. The touches added by Sean and Donna show they really want you to feel at home. Thank you so much. I hope we can visit again one day :)

This is a well maintained property with everything a holiday maker would need….

and more. Furthermore, It also has very comfy beds and seats. However, I have marked it as a 3 star because of the area and lack of garden. I think the last few photos are misleading. I wrongly presumed because of their presentation that there was countryside near by and there is not.The house is part of a small terrace right in the centre of very busy car parks, with no outside space at all. The house faces Booths supermarket and its car park. This means there is no grass nearby for your dog to toilet. I didn’t enjoy walking around the deserted car park with my dog last thing at night. Had I not had a dog with me, the area the house is in, would not have been a problem.

Enjoyed another pleasant stay in Kendal.

Friendly welcome when calling to sort out car permit and lovely touch to have biscuits and mint cake as a welcome as well as milk in the fridge. Would definitely stay there again if staying in the same area.

The location was perfect for visiting sights in Kendal and convenient for public transport.

It was a comfortable and relaxing base. The local taxi service - Lakeside - didn't know how to access Entry Lane and left us to walk around trying to find it on arrival.

Sorry to say that the cottage is not really dog friendly as there is no outside space for the dog to do its business.

My wife ended up on the car park in the middle of the night so our dog could take a pee. We arrived on Thursday and left on Friday.

The cottage was warm and comfortable and everything we needed was provided. I am grateful to the owners and was impressed by the extra provisions provided on our arrival

Lovely cottage.

Ideally situated in Kendal and the parking permit was a bonus. Cottage had everything needed for our stay. It was spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. The mattresses and pillows on both beds used were very comfortable. The milk and biscuits were appreciated. Only negative was the leather sofa....it was very low and the seating sagged so it was not comfortable at all. In our opinion a replacement is needed.

Very well located in the centre of Kendal. It was comfortable and quiet, clean throughout and the parking permit was really useful. Only minor points were no hairdryer or clothes horse despite having a good washing machine. I’d definitely stay again.

Great location to tour Dales and Lakes, by car. Wonderful vibrant Town. Unit was well equipped. Will come back. Totally quiet at night.

We have stayed before and also enjoyed it. This time we noticed a fair amount of upgrading in furniture and a welcome addition of a stair rail which was a great help for my partner.

A real gem of a property, centrally located in Kendal and maintained to the highest of standards. The property is Immaculately clean, well maintained with welcoming tea, coffee and biscuits on arrival. The addition of a parking permit by the new owners is a fantastic idea, as previously you had to pay daily to use Booth's car park, which added up over a week. The parking permit also allows you to park free in most of the local towns at selected car parks. Well recommended for anyone wishing to stay in a high quality, fantastically run property within Kendal. 5 stars!

Well positioned lovely clean cottage close to centre of Kendal.

Well presented. Everything that was needed was supplied and more. Only negative was having to park car out of sight. However parking permit was provided which was very useful as it allowed you to park on certain car parks in the surrounding area.

We stayed in this lovely little cottage, in the middle of Kendal town for 3 days in August.

The cottage has a small living area and a full-equipped kitchen (with little details like biscuits, coffee, tea, a lot of Peter Rabbit books and artefacts) which makes this a lovely cosy cottage for a family of four. There are two bedrooms spread over two floors (a tall house) with two bathrooms and toilets. The beds were freshly washed, clean and was a welcome to tuck into after 8 hours of journey. The place to just a minute's walk from the high street and good to drop into Pizza Express in the evening or the lovely café opposite for a lazy brunch. It is just 15-20 mins drive to Windermere or Ullswater and is a good base for all the activities around Lake District. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend this cottage for small families.

The cottage itself is very tastefully decorated and had everything needed for a very comfortable stay. The owners provided clear information about where to park and where to avoid. All in all a very enjoyable weeks stay!

Property was wonderfully presented and located right in the heart of the town.

Parking was literally 30 seconds away and free with the pass provided, although you could park briefly right outside to unload / load your car. Everything you would need in the property was provided along with instructions for appliances. You could walk to everything within Kendal although we chose to drive to Windermere on one day! Beautiful place to visit and would definitely recommend and we will be returning hopefully to stay again.

The cottage was beautifully clean and warm with an abundance of hot water.

It was well equipped but I would suggest that shower/bath mats would be useful. Ideally situated for the town and Booths supermarket. Parking a little way from the property but with the parking permit it was easy and we always got a space.

A delightful property in the very centre of Kendal with Booths top supermarket, and other shops, less than a minute walk away.

The house is spotlessly clean and well equipped, comfortable beds and very quiet at night. The heating and hot water was instant and the free parking ticket was invaluable. The central Lakes are a short drive away and I definitely recommend this holiday home. The owners were also very kind and good at communicating.

I managed to book the wrong dates, I phoned Sykes Cottages and they called the host while I was on the phone to seek approval to change the dates - great service!

Communication and information from Sykes was very good, as was text messages from the host. The cottage was very clean, quiet and comfortable, only a couple of minutes walk to town, and the parking permit was very much appreciated. Highly recommended

Handily placed for everything you need and all within easy walking distance (especially once you find all the shortcuts). House was a home from home with everything provided.

We were so impressed with the cottage.

It was well equipped, welcoming and in a brilliant location to explore the lakes. It was beautifully clean and was so comforting how all soft furnishings and bedding smelt fresh and encouraged a comfortable nights sleep. Owners were very accommodating and communication was excellent. We will definitely return.

A home away from home.

A pretty, traditional cottage in an ideal location for exploring Kendal. Very grateful for the thoughtful gestures such as a fresh carton of milk, teabags and a taste of mint cake! The addition of the parking permit was so greatly received too - a very unique and generous feature. The only thing we struggled with was using the oven. We spent about half an hour trying to warm our croissants. Whilst there was a sticker on the oven, we still struggled with 3D heat etc (?) Perhaps you could add a more clear sticker that specifically says Grill, oven and a quick explanation of which dials to turn? Great communication from the host from the moment of booking until the end of our stay.

Absolutely lovely Stay , Immaculately clean - every single item in the cupboards were spotless !

No issues with hot water / heating ...all perfect. Really comfy Bed & Fantastic location...much bigger property inside than the pics illustrate. Only 1 small criticism- could do with a Black out blind at front window in Main bedroom ...but this is only because of personal choice , I like complete darkness to sleep! We will Definitely be back to the cottage & will recommend to our friends. Thankyou !
