Nice spacious home with lots of bathrooms for plenty of guests.
The conservatory is large and bright giving extra space if needed. It’s a shame that recycling isn’t encouraged as the nearest drop off point is a long way from the house now.
Wont be going back, beds not made ready for the family on arrival absolutely no where to put clothes or suitcases in any of the rooms except the main bedroom.
had to physically build the spare bed and make up daughters bedding upon arrival, This is when we discovered that the property was not cleaned and dust on every surface. the ceiling light within the main bedroom was hanging on by the electrical wiring!! Their was a live stud sticking out of the wall socket in the hall way at the bottom of the stairs (which i had to cover with a piece of plastic and sellotape (240V) ). found a note to state that the downstairs shower was faulty and could not be used. there is also an issue with the tap in the kitchen which made an awful sound when any other tap was used in the house. the house its self was covered in antiquities on every shelf and surface. the dinning room chairs are broken and wobbly so 2 of our party had to sit in the conservatory. the garden was overgrown with nowhere to sit. the main hall way and rear kitchen door smelt of smoke and the discarded cigarette tabs on the floor around the rear kitchen door was not a pretty site. The TV in the living room was losing contrast and so was not pleasant to watch. There was also no replacement bin liners (which had to be Blue) or any work top/ surface spray at the property which we had to buy, The living room sofa was uncomfortable and sagged in the middle. All in all i would describe our stay as been forced to live in a house that was crossed between a care home and an Antiques shop!!
Well located and warm house on a quiet street with easy driveway parking.
Only a short walk from Morrisons and Booths supermarkets and Penrith town centre (which has a selection of shops, cafes and bars and a lovely little cinema). We enjoyed days out at Ullswater and Aira Force, Penrith Golf Hub, mountain biking in Whinlatter forest, and walking to Lacy's caves via Long Meg stone circle. We found the mattress on the bed in the master bedroom uncomfortable for two people as both rolled to the centre - so we made use of the spare single mattress under the bed in the single room.
