It was cleaned to a very high standard and the owners clearly took the pandemic very seriously. We were quite sceptical going away during the pandemic, but staying here we felt very safe. The cottage was really homely, and we thoroughly enjoyed having our breakfast out in the courtyard every morning. It was very peaceful and we enjoyed the company of the sheep next door! The setting on the farm was beautiful too. The location was great also, only 10 mins drive to Penrith to get all your essentials. We'd highly recommend The Clickham Inn for food, which again is only 10 mins drive. Only 30 mins to Keswick, which is my favourite place to visit in the Lake District and has the best lake too. Even closer is Ullswater which is also very pretty and has the Aira Force Waterfall walk too which is worth visiting. Look no further, book here and you won't be disappointed!!

Renowned for its wealth of specialist shops, the sandstone buildings of Penrith hide intriguing yards, lanes and alleyways, with a myriad of attractive cottages, gardens and little shops. With a wide choice of excellent pubs, hotels, restaurants and entertainment, Penrith also offers a museum, and Millennium Trails round the historic city streets. Within easy reach of the town is Rheged – an innovative visitor centre with shops, restaurants, exhibitions and a giant cinema screen showing educational and informative films.
