  • "We had no complaints about the lodge, which was comfortable, clean and well equipped."

The caravan park appeared to be well managed and although busy, it was not noisy. A good position between Windermere and Ambleside.

The lodge was well maintained and clean. The site facilities were excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. I would recommend staying at this lodge and hope to do so ourselves in the future.

  • "Listing stated Sky tv(standard package), this was not the case, suggest this is changed."

Listing stated parking for 2 cars, this could be achieved dependant on where the neighbouring cavavan occupants parked. Listed as sleeps 4, which it does have beds for 4, however only suited to 2 adults & 2 kids, not 4 adults. Location on Windermere Lake was disappointing, as most of the bay was locked off from use by the boats moored on the jetties.

Thank you for your feedback following your recent stay at our lodge and we're disappointed you didn't find the lodge was suitable for you. With reference to the Sky package, the listing does say basic package however, we appreciate this can be misleading and may not meet all guests expectations so we've requested this be removed from the listing. There is adequate parking for 2 cars, one behind the other rather than side by side. The lodge has one double bedroom and one twin room. In the twin room the single beds are larger than a standard single so are suitable for adults as well as children. We accommodate many bookings for 4 adults over the season and receive very positive feedback on the comfort of the beds so we're sorry if on this occasion you didn't feel the lodge met your needs. Unfortunately, we have no control over site activity and although our lodge is only a short walk from the site Marina if it was closed off during your stay I'm really sorry you missed out on this during your visit. • "The Lodge was very nice, very comfortable and well equipped."

The quality of the furniture and fittings is of a high standard. The Lodge is handily situated on the site , easy to locate and is well positioned to capture the sun for best part of the day. We enjoyed visiting the local areas of Ambleside, Grasmere and Windermere all within a short distance of the Lodge. One general comment regarding our recent holidays is the fact owners leave only the bare minimum of things like washing up liquid, kitchen rolls and toilet rolls. It’s not a complaint as such but we have had to purchase our own supplies to see us through our recent holidays. Maybe it’s a point that can be brought to someone’s attention.

  • "Lovely clean cabin."

Everything there you could ask for. Nice site. Restaurant and bar operating and fine. Proximity to Brockhole was a bonus as could walk there and play on playground, play mini golf etc. Worth a ride to The Mortal Man if you want a nice pub with lovely food.

  • "Nice lodge in a holiday park right on lake Windermere, location wise was perfect for getting about the Lakes and the facilities on the park were useful in entertaining a 5 year old during downtime."

Lacked a few basics like hand-soap and a hair dryer but these are not mentioned in the description so can't complain just remember to bring your own if going. Also a handy tip is to book your swimming session a day in advance otherwise you have to rely on someone not turning up to get in the pool.

  • "The holiday home we stayed in was lovely and was a great base for our walks around the Lake District, particularly Windermere and Coniston."

My only gripe is with the service at the main lodge within White Cross Bay. There were often queues of 15-20 people waiting to order food and drinks but the staff never reacted to meet the demand and instead seem to continue with just 2 people serving at the bar, which was annoying to say the least.

  • "Cosy lodge and well-equipped."

Although we managed ok, it was a little squashed for 3 adults, a teenager and a dog! Living space fine but 2nd bedroom cramped. We would use the lodge again, but just not with as many of us at the one time.

  • "Although this was a pet-friendly property, we don't have a dog and there were a rather alarming amount of long black pet hairs everywhere, behind doors, beneath wardrobe etc."

and we couldn't seem to avoid them. This will put us off choosing a pet-friendly property again, even if it's the only thing available. On the plus side, this was a fantastic location to explore the Lake District and the lodge was very well equipped to serve as a self-catering property. The boys enjoyed Treetop Nets at Brockhole and we all enjoyed the Lakeside Aquarium, Lakeland Motor Museum and the local towns of Grasmere, Ambleside and Keswick are great for shopping. The Sykes App is very good and I liked the countdown to our holiday. I also used the "nearby" to research places to visit whilst we were there.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your time at the holiday and we have fed this back to our cleaners. We take great pride in our property and stayed in the property 2 weeks prior to your arrival and found no dog hairs. Property Owner

  • "I really couldn't find many reviews about the wifi other than this lodge was situated next to a wifi antenna."

The wifi for us was pretty bad. We had lots of clouds and rain so not sure if that contributed to the poor wifi signal. I brought along an Amazon stick but there was no way you could watch a film. YouTube also was very poor. Most people don't need wifi when in the Lake District which is fine, but we needed it for my son who has specific needs.

Lodge had everything we needed and more. Location is brilliant and if you want to stay on the site there is enough to keep the kids entertained. Our golden retriever loved sitting on the balconey watching the world go by in the evenings. Would stay here again.
