"What a great property in a fantastic location."
The property was clean and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Garuda is located in a quiet wooded area of the complex and about 10 minutes stroll to the main complex and 10 minutes through the woodland walk to the lake. The lodge has everything you need and the usb sockets all over is a nice touch. The single beds are small and my teenage children had their legs dangling out of the end, but they were fine. The WiFi is shocking throughout the site apart from the bar area, so make sure you download things beforehand. As the lodge is privately owned, if you want to use the pool or join in the children’s activities, you have to pay for day passes, but the pool slots are booked up weeks in advance, but they do keep some spaces free but you would have waiting lists for each session. All other facilities like bar restaurants and games room and outdoor play areas are free to use. We ate in the Boathouse most days and enjoyed it check the daily specials and you can save a fair bit. If you download the Parkdean App, it makes ordering really simple and a lot faster than waiting at the bar. We visited in August and the area was really busy. Decided to use public transport and the bus stops at the main gate. We bought a family day ticket (£49 2adults 2children) with unlimited bus travel and a ticket on the ferry and had a great time touring around and sailing down the lake. Buses run every 10 minutes on the main routes and the open top buses added to the adventure. The lake is beautiful and a 10 minute stroll through the woodland walk brings you out to the marina. We ate picnics most days on the picnic tables watching all the boats cruising up and down.

"Really enjoyed the stay and protection from the sun cheers"

"Positives: The property is lovely, exactly as shown in the pictures."
The location is great and makes a good base for exploring the lakes. The facilities were great, dishwasher, washer/dryer etc. Negatives: The listing states the WiFi is only suitable for page browsing, but realistically, it's not even good for that. It constantly kicks you off, making even the most basic googling about the area you are staying near impossible. The major issue for us during our stay was the beds - they were unbelievably uncomfortable. My partner and I shared the double and both of us suffered with back pain through the week, to the point where my partner couldn't walk properly on the Thursday after 6 nights sleeping in the bed. The twin room beds are really only suitable for small children, not adults, so my parents really struggled sleeping in them and also struggled for comfort. It really was the only downside of the holiday, but it had a big impact on our ability to enjoy our stay, which is a shame.

"Spot on"

"The people who had used the lodge before us had washed no plates or cutlery."
Egg and food on plates. That was the only downside the lodge itself was located great on the site and very clean with the exception of dishes. Uk lodges very disappointing service and wouldn’t recommend and would not use again.

"Great Stay for a Family Getaway We had a lovely stay as a family of six."
The accommodation was clean and well kept, with a handy outdoor hose for washing pets. The staff were friendly and helpful. It's a great location, just a short walk to Brockhole and plenty of beautiful local walks nearby. A Few Small Improvements Could Help Storage for food was limited, though the fridge freezer was a good size. The patio gate was tricky to close, and the hoover was faulty. Wi-Fi reception on-site was poor. We had to walk to the bar area to get a usable connection. That said, the lack of internet turned out to be a blessing. It gave us a chance to really unwind and enjoy quality time together as a family.

"We had a lovely stay at Garuda."
The lodge was well laid out and comfortable. There were a few very minor things that we thought could be improved however this didn’t cause any major inconveniences. One being that there was no where for us to store the dried food that we had brought, all of the cupboards were full of cups, glasses, plates etc. we thought there were too many when the lodge is designed for 6 people one each of everything would have been enough. Also I wasn’t able to find a charger for the Hoover, having a dog and a baby, this would have been useful. The WiFi is also terrible however I appreciate this is a parc issue and is not something the owners can control. Also we were there to relax and have screen breaks so it wasn’t a huge issue! Overall however our stay was really enjoyable and I would rebook in the future. Thank you!

"The holiday accommodation was good & spacious."
Had most equipment you needed in kitchen but only 2 glass wine glasses the rest were plastic which isn’t ideal indoors to enjoy a nice glass of wine The accommodation was clean apart from the oven which was in need of a clean & the fridge was leaking water onto the food . We enjoyed our stay at Garuda & mentioned these negative things as they can very easily be put right & would have had no complaints about the property if they were .

"Lovely property and very clean."
The only issue we had was the shower doors in the ensuite need adjusting as didn't close fully allowing floor to get wet (minor inconvenience only). Otherwise lodge had everything you could need and would definitely consider using again.

"Perfect absolutely everything you need for a self catering holiday."
The site was good too we loved how you could walk to the edge of lake Windermere from the site and there is a little picnic area and how dog friendly the site was - Penny was allowed in the bar and restaurant which made a nice change from the last park dean holiday we had
Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments. We are pleased that you enjoyed you and Penny enjoyed your holiday! We hope to welcome you back again. The Lake District Lodge Holidays Owner Relations Team Property Owner

The lodge was clean and comfortable the wifi wasn't good it had smart TV but couldn't use it as kept stopping the site it's self we thought they had packed too many lodges on the site
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you found the lodge to be clean and comfy. The WIFI is provided by the Park and any issues with this is outside of Lake District Lodge Holidays and the owners control. We take all comments on board. "No wifi Limited access to pool and extremely difficult to book activities as no access to parkdean website and most activities booked before our arrival."
Limited ability to book in person.
Thank you for your feedback, as the complimentary WIFI is owned by the park and nothing to do with the owner or Lakelovers we have no control over this. - The owner relations team Property Owner

"W we have just returned from white cross holiday park."
We are thoroughly enjoying ourselves however I do feel I should make you aware of a few things - the outside picnic table and chairs are in a bad state of repair, one of the mattresses in the first twin room needs replacing due to springs coming through and the hoover does not pick up very good. The tap in the bathroom is very loose. The gate going into property is also broken at the latch. We have booked again for next year and I hope you don’t take my comments negatively. Elaine Sibbald

"The lodge we stayed in was spotless, the location was excellent will definitely stay there again."

"A great holiday lodge and very well maintained!"
! Will definitely return !
-
"Stayed with family over the Christmas period, beautiful lodge in a great location."
The lodge was really well equipped and the owners made our stay feel extra special by making the lodge festive. Would highly recommend and we all can’t wait to stay again in the near future!
-
"Beautiful lodge and would definitely return."
Only criticism really is that the cupboards are so over stocked which of course is great that you have everything but there is no space to store any food that you bring when staying for a week. Also the water for the showers/bath was extremely poor some days it was a trickle. Not ideal when there was three females needs to wash hair.
Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. The owner will be able to see your comments and act where necessary. Unfortunately, the water pressure can be an issue on the park with many properties using facilities at the same time. We are glad that you enjoyed your holiday and look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Lake District Lodge Holidays Owner Relations Property Owner

"An absolutely perfect lodge in an ideal location."
The facilities in the lodge were great and everything was spotlessly clean. Thank you for a lovely stay!
-
"Sykes have been brilliant at prearrival information and helpful guides to the local area."
The property is really well equipped for a family. We've never had such well stocked kitchen equipment and having a hoover and dustpan is really helpful on a active holiday to maintain a clean living space. Having the dishwasher maximises quality time and a washing machine so handy to rinse and spin wetsuits etc after a full day on the lake. If we'd known there would be a hairdryer and USB points it would've saved some packing but a pleasent surprise (as was the vase of fresh flowers on arrival!). The lodge is ideally placed for walking to Windermere, Ambleside and Bowness so being able to ditch the car was great too. We will definitely be using Sykes again and probably to stay at Garuda. Thank you

"Lovely lodge in lovely grounds , the house keeping team we’re fantastic as I ..."
Lovely lodge in lovely grounds , the house keeping team we’re fantastic as I had left all mri clothes in the wardrobe when leaving to come home , I was really upset and cross with myself but the team were fantastic in getting my clothes back to me , the only area I would say needs improving is the communication when we had a query with our booking , I was told a few times I would get a phone call but never did but then I would find a message on my booking which I had no idea was there and was not told this would be there way of communicating back , this did add frustration to the holiday experience but other than trust it was a lovely break

"We stayed here from the 4th to the 11th August 2023 and was very impressed with the whole place not just the cabin."
The cabin was spacious and had everything we needed from the washing machine to the kitchen utensils, it was clean and very well presented. This property location is ideal as it’s only a short drive to Windermere main town and traveling anywhere else it’s quite central we found. There is one parking space which is quite tight but it’s right outside the door so to me that’s great

"Well what can I say about our stay in Garuda lodge."
My family & there partners & babies had a lovey relaxed enjoyable time. It was lovely & clean, spacious for us all. Everthing we needed for our weekend away together. What a beautiful place. Hope we can come again. As highly recommended.

"We had a lovely time staying at Garuda lodge."
The lodge was clean, cosy and modern. Nice location with only a short drive into Windermere. Well equipped and kitchen was supplied with all dishes/cutlery/cups etc, even dishwasher tablets for the dishwasher. Enough parking for 2 cars, albeit tight. Only thing, wish the Wi-Fi coverage was better at the park.
Thank you for your comments. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. We hope to welcome you back. Property Owner

"A very comfortable lodge, lovely and warm too in snowy weather!"
Well equipped Pity we had to pay for a high chair when we could have taken our own Nothing to do with the property itself but we couldn’t use the pool- freezing, no shallow end and 4 year old got told off for wanting to play with the inflatable toys in the pool!!
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you had to pay for a high chair and also the issues surrounding the pool. The park is a separate company from ourselves however we will pass on your feedback. Property Owner

"Lovely clean lodge."

"Garuda really is a home from home, everything anyone would need is already there including an outside tap to rinse boots and the dog!"
The lodge is spotlessly clean and well maintained. We shopped for food at the local Booths, had a meal at the Flying Fleece in Ambleside, walked up the nearby hills and around the far side of the lake.
Thank you for your kind feedback. We are glad to hear that you found everything that you needed. It sounds like you had a lovely stay, and we hope to welcome you back again. Property Owner
