  • "We had a wonderful 3 night/4 day stay at Willows Lodge situated on White Cross Bay in Windermere."

The lodge was beautifully clean and had everything we needed for our mini break. Our dog loved it too he had the freedom to roam on the enclosed decking area. The lodge was very comfortable with that home from home feel about it. We will definitely be returning here as the location was just perfect too. Thank you so very much

  • "Initially, we entering the lodge there was a pungent smell of dogs."

The unit needed hoovering because of items found on the floor in the main living space. Dog hairs were found in the both and the small hoover didn’t work because it hadn’t been emptied, that was full of hairs too. The lodge itself was situated in a good location however, the TV couldn’t be used as it works from a wifi signal and the bandwidth to that system was too small to stream live TV Overall, a relaxing location but I wouldn’t choose to go back there.

Hi sorry you found some issues at the lodge as previous reviews show this is not normally the case my contact number is on the booking and I'm more than happy to help if any guest need assistance/help or to contact me we will do anything poosible to help any guests needs. In regards to the TVs i can only think they maybe could of been a issue with the wifi as we haven't ever had this issue before and I'm sure I could of helped if I knew about the issue while you was staying . In regards to the smell this is a dog friendly lodge we do have air freshners and its cleaned after every single visit so this is unfortunate as we've not had any issues before thanks for the feedback as we will work to fix any issues that have arisen we hope you enjoyed you're stay at Willows lodge Property Owner

  • "Willow Lodge was a lovely, modern lodge."

On the whole it was very well catered for. There were a couple of niggles for me regarding the bedding…no pillow protectors or mattress protectors on the single beds. Also there was no toilet seat in the main bedroom en-suite, which I personally find extremely unhygienic. The Parkdean site, where the lodge is situated is nice, although the WiFi is appalling and the use of Parkdean facilities are limited. You do need to book in advance use of the pool (of which we didn’t know). The area is stunning though.

Hi The issues have been sorted now new pillow protectors and new toilet seat fitted as soon as we knew about this thanks for the great review Property Owner

. BUT All the outdoor furniture and decking was covered in mud who had been there before must of had a dog it had rubbed it self around outdoor furniture , seats and table needed hosing off and the conifer tree next to were you park car needs some urget attention , Branches that had been cut off were hanging off tree over ya car thrown into the tree. The Lodge is in a nice place easy access to shop etc . Lovely area in deed . Lodge itself 10//10.

  • "Lovely modern lodge located opposite the main facilities and not far from the entrance so good access to bus stops."

Great location for Windermere and Ambleside. We were a party of 4 adults. You can get a map of the site from the main reception. The bar area is comfortable and dog friendly. Lodge is fairly well equipped and the addition of an air fryer was a welcome surprise. WiFi is the main site WiFi and good enough to stream Netflix on the Tv in the evening. However it can be unstable at times. Lodge has all the kitchen basics you need. It’s still new so hopefully things will get added, like oven gloves for example and a cafetière would be nice but that’s just me being picky. Beds and sofa’s are fairly comfortable and outdoor table and chairs are useful for warmer weather. Couldn’t work out the heating but owner was very helpful when called and soon sorted that. Really easy when you know how. There is some instructions in the Visitors Log Book which wasn’t an obvious place to look but we got there, no problem. Site is dog friendly with a nice walk down to lake and through the bit of Woodland. Onsite shop is a bit pricey but there’s a Spar at the garage about 400m up the main road towards Windermere if you need anything. Overall, this is a nice site and this lodge ticks all the boxes for my standards. Where I may have marked it down is only through personal preferences around the seating area layout compared to other lodges I’ve stayed in. The TV is quite high up on the wall and offset to the right so it makes it a bit uncomfortable to watch, especially with 3 adults squeezed onto the L shaped sofa. A big 3 seater would have worked better along with the additional chair. However, it would absolutely not put me off booking again and if I go back to White Cross Bay I’d want to book this lodge.

  • "Great property in fantastic location on site."

Great lodge with everything you need and despite an issue with the TV signal this was soon fixed through contact with the owner. Lodge is very new and great for a family of four. East parking as you do t have to go into site as it’s off the main resort car park which we felt was a real bonus as within easy reach of all on site facilities. Food on site was really good as well and priced as per other establishments in the area. Would highly recommend this lodge to anyone.

Location and parking was ideal. The lodge had everything we needed. Owners need to change the Towels, freezer not working and intermittent flashing lounge spotlight requires looking at.

Hi Terry Thansk for you're kind review about the lodge it's much appreciated and thanks for letting us know about the light as this has now been fixed and a new freezer is on the way we'll also look at getting some new towels for the guests. • "The property and the site it was based on was superb!"

First house on your right as you enter the site opposite reception. So not far from the playgrounds , reception, pub and pool . The lodge and the site , was really dog Friendly ! The lodge it's self was clean , modern and spacious ! Lovely living area and just the right size, wooden flooring so really dog friendly ! Lots to do in close surrounding areas. Mostly outdoor activities and weather permitting locations nearby . However a perfect retreat non the less . In case of bad weather recommend visiting Brockhole which has a zip line activity, massive park ( no dogs allowed) , nice walks which are dog friendly. Indoor activities we went to the lakeside aquarium, quite small probably an hour / 90 minute visit but enjoyable especially with young ones. We didn't know about it but you can book a ferry ride or train ride joint tickets with the aquarium and make it a full morning or afternoon out . Dogs allowed on boat but not in the aqauriam. The owners were very quick to respond with any enquiries and extremely accommodating. Only feedback to the owners would be , there was a handheld hoover but not a standing hoover. On our stay it was terrible weather . The handheld hoover made cleaning a bit more back breaking and time consuming. Highly recommend, Hoping to return soon I'm spring or summer months . Thank you .

Hi Thomas Thanks for the great review of the lodge and site this is much appreciated we're glad you enjoyed you're time there and hopefully welcome you back one day Thanks again Property Owner
