A few steps away, a darling ground-floor bedroom can be found served by a fabulous family bathroom boasting a striking roll top bath and separate walk-in shower, together providing a wonderful sleeping space for guests with limited mobility.
From here, an attractive staircase leads on to a homely sitting room with a sumptuous leather sofa and impressive Smart TV, a wonderful space to relax and unwind at the end of your days.
Completing the first floor are two restful bedrooms made up of a double and a single, each appointed with pretty country-style furnishing with cheerful yellow hues.

Apart from the dirty shower inlet which I advised to the head cleaner and she immediately apologised and admitted this wasn't good enough, the house was lovely.
We also noticed the kitchen blinds needed changing as they were very mouldy and stained which couldn't be cleaned. For such a beautiful cottage it was a shame they can't be replaced. Overall the pictures do not do this cottage justice. Absolutely stunning location and stunning cottage with plenty space within. However we also were told the cottage next to us same size people paid 450 for and we paid 970 for 3 nights! Iv used sykes for a long time and was clearly overcharged so won't be using sykes again because of that.

We completely agree regarding the shower, and as discussed at the time, our head cleaner apologised as this was not up to our usual standard. The kitchen blinds have already been ordered for replacement, and will be fitted when there is a space in lets. With regard to the price, we would just like to clarify that the £450 price mentioned was for one of our smaller cottages during the winter months, so unfortunately this isn’t a like-for-like comparison. Your stay was during August, our peak summer period, and prices vary considerably depending on the property, time of year and dates booked. Our second time visiting and staying in the same accommodation, all exactly as expect.
Easy activities for kids in the area, walks, ice cream, zip world and the lakes for some tourist visits. Owners friendly and happy to help if there are any questions. Will be looking forward to returning in the future

This one didn’t disappoint, was clean, beds were comfortable and hot tub great. Have already booked for next year.

Beautiful cottage and clean and beds really comfy.

Fabulous stay, just what we needed for a complete break, the cottage was perfect, fast wifi for all my studies I needed to do, everything in the cottage was to hand , peaceful in a rural setting,and the hot tub was the icing on the cake, carol and Steve were their if we needed them, and we enjoyed our stay

Gorgeous cottage and very clean.
Had a lovely weekend for my friends 50th birthday. A secluded spot and you would have to drive to Olverston but not far and a lovely place to visit. Would definitely recommend.

Laithe Cottage is a beautiful secluded cottage just outside of Ulverston, peaceful with beautiful views, cottage was warm comfy and immaculately clean with everything you needed for your stay and a welcome bottle of wine on our arrival.
We enjoyed the cottage, hot tub and surrounding area very much and would definitely recommend. Ulverston has plenty of restaurants and bars to suit anyone's tastes and plenty of attraction nearby, would recommend muncaster Castle for a day out. Coniston Windermere Ambleside all close by. We had a great week helped by the weather which was sunny for April, lucky. Scafell pike was the reason we booked here and that day trip was excellent too, so hope you enjoy laithe Cottage as much as we did.

Our stay at Laithe cottage was fantastic.

We atayed at Laithe cottage however they have a series of cottages with different setups to accomodate i believe up to 35 people.
Laithe Cottage was really nice clean, easy to access and it included everything from sheets and towels to tea towels and hand soap in the kitchen. It had crockery and Cutlery and even had a roll of paper towel, spare bin bags and a recycling centre! (Need to bring your own shower gel and shampoo). Laithe Cottage comes with a private hot tub which was absolutely fab (even in the freezing cold) although this is not available at all the cottages there believe others have too. Beds are comfortable and clean. Laithe has a ground floor bedroom, although only one toilet / bathroom! Went with kids and they really enjoyed it. The staff are friendly courteous, helpful abd available.

Beautiful cottage.
Had everything we needed. Beds were comfy and everywhere was spotless. Loved the the big bath, hottub, open fire and the underfloor heating in the bathroom. Would definitely visit again.

Overall lovely property!
Laithe Cottage was amazing, clean and very comfortable in a lovely part of the Lake District.
The bed in the downstairs bedroom was very squeaky every time we moved but we just swapped with our daughter, the beds were so comfortable and we slept so well. The jacuzzi was so relaxing, and we went in it every day. Our daughter wanted to take it home! The electrics went off a couple of times but the owner sorted it out quickly for us. We really enjoyed our holiday and would love to return in the future. Thank you to the owners, they have beautiful properties.

A really lovely place quiet, not to far from lakes and other interesting places to visit.
Kitchen well equipped for cooking. Your own parking space were you can shut the gate and the best part coming back to the hot tub.
Throughly enjoyed our week at Laithe Cottage.
Situated in a tranquil area. Ulverston is a lovely little town with everything you need, situated close enough to the Lakes to have wonderful days out. The cottage us clean and has everything you need. Loved the log burner in the kitchen, however it would have been nice to have 2 comfy chairs next to it, but not a problem. The hot tub was a fantastic addition and well used by all of us. Good shower and bath the only downside was because we were 5 adults (2 with long hair) we did keep running out of hot water. On a positive note, we would love to stop here again.
We've stayed in several Sykes Cottages, but this one is by far our favorite.
Nestled in a stunning and ideal location, the cottage offers easy access to all the Lake District's hotspots while providing a secluded retreat where you can truly unwind. The cottage itself is exceptionally comfortable and well-equipped. The owners live nearby and were incredibly welcoming, with their friendly cats and dogs often greeting us upon our return from daily adventures. It’s one of the rare places we’ve visited where even the kids didn’t want to leave!
On arrival the place was immaculate.
The facilities on site and the I auction booklet was amazing! The kitchen was amazing aswell! The people the place and everything was just brilliant.
Beautiful cottage in a lovely setting, The owners are very nice and leave you be, the hot tub is a brilliant feature especially to entertain the kids.
There is a lovely village close by with lots of shops bars and restaurant’s . We especially loved the farm cat that visited us daily .
Great location wise, a must do day trip is the safari zoo.
The cottage was nice enough but needed a few tweaks for us to come back im afraid, Bed was uncomfortable downstairs, shower wasn't clean, lighting outdoors was poor and in bad weather/ winter the floor can be slippery so would have been ideal to have better lighting for going in and out to car. Not that it made an issue for us however for future guests if anyone is with difficulty climbing stairs the lounge is actually upstairs with only a small but comfy arm chair near the log burner in kitchen.
Beautiful cottage everything was perfect.
The owners have very good attention to detail, we went at beginning of december was delighted to see christmas decorations. The quality of furnishing and everything you could want in a kitchen. We loved the hot tub and the log fire. The place is beautiful and the owners was so helpful. Would highly recommend this place.
We had the loveliest time at Laithe Cottage.
The cottage itself has everything you could need for your holiday and was a great warm base camp after a long day out in the Lake District. To my complete surprise my partner and I got engaged during our trip which makes it even more special for us and we will always remember this holiday. The wine and chocolate on arrival was used straight away to celebrate

The cottage was well equipped, comfortable and the hot tub was brilliant. You are very secluded and it’s nice to be in the middle of no where to escape from day to day life. The views are fantastic! Ulverston is only a short drive away which is ideal to top up on supplies. We would definitely recommend a stay here!
Beautiful cottage and a stunning setting.
Very comfortable and cosy. Really good beds too. Shower needs some work, mould on silicone which is an easy fix and shower drain did overflow onto the bathroom floor. All in all though a lovely property in a great location.

Lovely self contained cottage, well looked after and clean with thoughtful detail and extra utilities, gardens beautifully preserved, very peaceful and idyllic settings, molly the cat was an extra house guest which the children loved, would definitely consider staying here again thank you

A really lovely place to stay.
Everything was as described and the hot tub and garden just added to the beauty of this place. Really relaxing. Only a 10 minute drive into Ulverston centre, which has everything you need and more. The cottage was very clean and had all the facilities we needed. All round a relaxing and great place.

I could gladly live here permanently. Its well set out, immaculate and very comfortable. It is in a remote area making it very quiet, just what we love. I would highly recommend a break in Laithe cottage.
What a wonderful cottage for our 7 day stay.
The rooms were clean and tidy and couldn't fault them. The views were stunning. We did have an issue with the hot water however when talking to the people who were there maintains property they came straight away and looked at it. Absolutely recommended this cottage. The hot tub was clean and ready for us on the next day after arriving. The area is beautiful with lots of walks and towns and villages to see. We enjoyed our stay and would come back again.
We absolutely loved our stay at Laithe cottage ,it is much bigger than it looks on photos.
plenty of space for the kids to run around .The cottage was very clean ,lovely comfortable beds it had everything you would possibly need.plenty of parking with its own drive and the hut tub ,sitting out area is huge . Set in a very quiet area a few miles out of Ulverston it was so peaceful and quiet.but not too far away to go for some lovely pub meals in Ulverston. There was just a couple of things we could not find or work .maybe more instructions would be helpful For the hot tubs hosepipe tap location and how to work it , the cooker hob and hot water timer.but other than that everything else was OK. The location is perfect as a base to visit so many amazing places in the lakes and the seaside We all have a great time and would definitely recommend and stay there again .
We stayed for 7 nights at Laithe Cottage for the second time and it was just as good as the first.
It's a lovely cottage in a great location and the owners really have thought of everything you could possibly need and it's immaculately clean. Highly recommended and it's definitely somewhere we'll be booking again.

What a beautiful cottage, remote, quiet, tranquil setting.
We had some lovely walks, relaxed in the private gardens and chilled in the hot tub. 3 miles from Ulverston, had some lovely meals out and got a taxi back a few times for £10 after walking there. It really is a gem.
A very enjoyable stay and a lovely cottage to base ourselves in.
The cottage is very well equipped and the kitchen and garden were larger than expected. The shed was excellent for bike storage and the hot tub was most welcome at the end of the day. Ulverston is a short distance away and very convenient for any supplies. Lakes Coniston and Windermere are nearest and easily accessed. At this time of year (end April/early May) the area was uncrowded and traffic very light on the roads around the lakes which made life easier. The family enjoyed their stay and get together. A very peaceful setting with lots of birdlife. Highly recommended.

My wife, two children and I had a fantastic 7 nights at Laithe Cottage.
The cottage was spotlessly clean and very well equipped for adults and children alike. The bottle of wine, pint of milk and tea/coffee was a lovely unexpected surprise on arrival. The cottage is very secluded and has lovely views and we've already looked to rebook. It has a lovely garden area with seating, tables, BBQ and hot tub. I would highly recommend staying here!

we really enjoyed our stay it was so peaceful and relaxing. Facilities are fantastic loved the hot tub and log fire everything was spotlessly clean and the bed was so comfortable. Kitchen has everything you would need for a long stay there's not a thing I could fault. We loved it so much we didn't want to come home.
The cottage was very clean on arrival.
The hot tub was amazing and well maintained. The cottage is in a great location for visiting the Lakes too. Even though the cottage is one on a complex and others were occupied it was still very quiet and peaceful. My only issue was that I had been trying to contact the owner for 4 days leaving messages on the mobile number provided by Sykes on the arrival details e mail.This issue was also outlined on an earlier review. I managed to find the correct number myself and eventually spoke to the very pleasant owner.

Only there for a long weekend with friends but could have stayed forever. With the exception of a DVD/BluRay player, the property was equipped with everything you could possibly want. Would definitely stay again.

The cottage is furnished to a very high standard, has everything you might need, and is spotlessly clean. It is located a few miles out of Ulverston set in beautiful surroundings. The hot tub is just an added bonus, and the garden is lovely. We were lucky with the weather this time, a full week of sunshine which was just the icing on the cake. We would highly recommend Laithe Cottage.

It was just perfect and everything we had hoped for. Even the kids loved it. It has gorgeous views, had Netflix available and even an Alexa which was unexpected but ticked all the boxes for the kids. Can not wait to come back again
Stay was really good very clean and wasn’t anything we needed in our stay that wasn’t provided would recommend and stay again this coming summer
Although we had a brilliant stay, this was somewhat spoilt by the accusations of damage to a radiator at the property.
We treated the property with respect and left it in a clean and good condition like we found it. There was no obvious damage to anything, other than a water glass, which we documented and reported, whilst we were there. I am sure the alleged radiator "hanging of the wall" would have been obvious to us if indeed it was in the property while we were there. We were very upset to have unfounded claims made against us, and Sykes trying to take money from my account before they had even asked if we were aware of any damage. We feel victimised by the owners and very disappointed in the way it was handled by Sykes. It has left a very bad taste.

It's a beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings. The cottage is furnished to a very high standard, with good quality soft furnishings too. Spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. The hot tub in the garden was an added bonus. We will certainly return and would have no hesitation in recommending Laithe Cottage to our family and friends. Absolutely fabulous!!
Well equipped and well maintained cottage, clean and safe.
The facilities were great. Only downside was the contact details (mobile) for the cottage on our booking confirmation was incorrect. Luckily we managed to find the correct number otherwise it would not have been a great start to our holiday.
My husband and I and a couple of friends had a recent fabulous stay at Laithe Cottage.
We enjoyed a friendly daily visit from Sid the cat and Cyril the dog. The cottage was spacious and exceptionally clean with plenty utensils, pots etc in the kitchen and towels in the bathroom. We stayed in the upstairs bedroom and it would have been very useful to have an upstairs toilet, however, a few stairs down to the ground floor toilet was no problem at all. The bathroom was spacious with a fantastic shower. We enjoyed a meal at the Mill Inn in Ulverston and we got a takeaway delivery from Aroma Indian restaurant which was excellent. We had an AMAZING breakfast at Poppies in Ulverston but they also do lunches and evening meals - definitely worth a try! We all very much enjoyed the outdoor space and hot tub at Laithe Cottage and we were very impressed with the way that, although there were other cottages, they are built in such a way that there is privacy in the garden area. The staff who attended to the grounds and cottages were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely visit Laithe Cottage again!
Absolutely amazing holiday, cottage was perfect had everything you may need and more!
! Cleanliness was 100% spot on, beautiful location, we were lucky with 7 days of pure sunshine, felt like we were abroad. Normally we go abroad every year, this staycation was one of the best, in our top 10 best holidays! Even our teenager daughter loved it, you won’t be disappointed I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this cottage absolutely fantastic. Thanks for a fabulous holiday!
The cottage is nice and has a countryside vibes.
It’s quiet and peaceful. The jacuzzi is superb. It’s really nice to dip after a tiring day and even If It’s raining. You will always have something to do. The only problem I noticed is the sound proofing of the room downstairs and the room above. We didn’t had a good sleep because we can hear loud and clear every time someone is talking above our room, even if they are just whispering. We can hear their snore at night. We need to get drunk and get knocked out so that we can have a good sleep. But aside from that It was very nice place to stay.
While some may find Laithe Cottage a little out in the countryside, we loved it!
The cottage was great, the people who looked after it were very pleasant and helpful and we would definitely use it again. We came to relax and walk, we did several walks, easily accessible from the location and the cottage had all we needed to relax, especially with the hot tube. We really enjoyed our stay.
