  • "It was the perfect last-minute getaway for us: a place to stay and relax while we took the opportunity to explore the Lakes."

Everything was clean and tidy and exactly as described. Some very homely and welcoming touches. Thank you so much!

  • "This is the sectime we have stayed at MyraView this year and the third time on total."

What a lovely place, away from it all but only 5 min8from the main road and about 10 minutes from Cartmel. The property is quirky . We love it. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped. A great coffee machine, it made excellent coffee but we couldn't work out how to get the attached milk frother to work. There is also plenty of tea towels, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and salt and pepper provided. Lots of towels in the bedrooms too. The beds are very comfy. The storage heaters taking a bit of getting used to, but soon sorted. Also thank you for the welcome gift package too. A simple walk if you don't want to drive is to cross the main road (A590) signposted Staveley and turn left, there are two easy safe walks to Newby Bridge. We highly recommend this lovely cottage. Thank you Tony & Chrissie

  • "I stayed here a few years ago on a mini retreat and I loved the peace and the idyllic cottage."

I told my husband about the cottage and so he stayed there this week on his mini retreat. It is still lovely and has all the amenities that you could possibly need...BUT no WiFi. This was not a problem as there was a good phone signal if needed. The outside could do with a bit of tlc as the shrubbery and pots were no longer looked after. That was the only negative though. Also the welcome gifts were very generous and much appreciated. This is such a gem and the next visit will be my turn for that mini retreat! Highly recommend this cottage if peace and solitude is what you are looking for.'

  • "If you don’t mind not having Wi-Fi this is a perfect spot to stay."

Some lovely treats awaited us. Loved having sheep coming to say hello every morning! Just don’t get caught let out like us - no liquid soap or shower gel provided. Also don’t lose anything. Sykes wanted to charge me £30 to find and send a Pandora charm back to me lost in the bedroom.

We had a wonderful stay, the cottage is truly home from home and has all of the facilities you could wish for. It was immaculately clean, with lovely welcome gifts including wine and local sticky toffee pudding! Would highly recommend, thank you.

  • "Lovely holiday at Myra’s view."

Cottage as described. Perfect location although a narrow lane to and from the cottage. Brambles/hedges each side to beware off if you have a large car.

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Myra’s view."

The cottage was down a little lane, secluded, peaceful; but a quick hop to main road where there’s a Budgens and a garage. Sheep roaming in the field behind, which was lovely. Room enough to park to cars in the front. Once inside the cottage we found the kitchen very well equipped, the lounge very comfy with tv. The bedrooms a good size with plenty of storage and the beds super comfy. Great shower in the Bathroom and plenty of towels. Separate utility room containing washing machine and tumble dryer. The cottage was warm and cosy and very welcoming, the owners have gone out of their way to make this little cottage a home from home! It was liberating not having WiFi for a week and to just enjoy our surroundings! I highly recommend Myra’s view!

Again an excellent welcome pack featuring local products. Fairly quiet location and handy for all the Lake District visits. Comfortable and clean, many thanks

  • "Would have been nice to have an information sheet of where the nearest pubs/shops/chemist/doctors were - thankfully we didn't need them."

Also local walks from the door information. Duvet on bed too thick for the time of the year!! Very well equipped, although the sofa/chairs weren't that comfortable for relaxing in the evening. A lovely little cottage in a wonderful area.

About the location

NEWBY BRIDGE

Bowness-on-Windermere 8 miles.

The small village of Newby Bridge takes its name from the five arched stone bridge built in 1651 over the River Leven. The famous Furness Railway, one of Britain's oldest working standard gauge steam railways, runs between Haverthwaite and Newby Bridge. Visit the Lakeside Hotels and enjoy magnificent views across Windermere and the surrounding fells, or enjoy the Aquarium of the Lakes, where the naturally themed habitats, bring the history of the Lakes vividly to life. Bowness-on-Windermere provides a lovely day out, plus the picturesque village of Hawkshead still retains the charm and character that so endeared it to its most famous residents - William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter, and admire the views at nearby Gummer's How.
