  • "This is a wonderful property."

It is beautifully furnished and well maintained. There was something for everyone in our party of 8 to do within the property and the surrounding area. We especially loved the hot tub and gardens. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners who made sure that we had everything we needed. We thoroughly recommend The Old Coach House for a perfect family holiday, without any hesitation!

  • "I would strongly advise thinking twice before booking this cottage, the kitchen has rugs on the floor which feels unhygienic, the bathroom has carpet which is completely unsuitable, and the dining chairs all have cushions that are bound to get dirty."

The biggest issue is that I was charged £550 allegedly for damages, so unless you are prepared to pay this after your stay, it is not worth it. The twin bedroom has no windows, it is right next to the boiler room so it becomes unbearably hot, and it has no cupboards or storage at all. Overall this was a very disappointing experience, the cottage feels like a trap with its setup and excessive charges, and I would not recommend it.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We feel it’s important to clarify the circumstances surrounding the additional charges you reference. Our holiday home is proudly maintained to a high standard so that every guest can enjoy a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment. Unfortunately, following your stay, we encountered a number of issues that required significant time and expense to resolve: The downstairs toilet walls had to be repainted due to splash stains on the walls. Several seat cushions were stained and could not be salvaged, necessitating replacement. The freezer compartment was broken and required repair. The kitchen rug, along with three other carpets, had to be professionally shampooed due to heavy soiling. The outdoor paving had been drawn on with chalk and needed power washing to restore its original condition. The toilet brushes were that heavily soiled they had to be replaced. We understand that accidents can happen, and we always strive to be fair and reasonable. However, the level of damage went beyond typical wear and tear, and the charges applied were solely to cover the cost of restoring the property to its usual standard for future guests. All of the above can be verified though photographs with Sykes and through Debbie at Longridge Helping Hands Cleaning Company. We’re sorry that this has caused frustration, but we hope you can appreciate our responsibility to maintain the home for all who stay. We remain committed to transparency and fairness, and we’re always happy to discuss concerns directly to ensure mutual understanding. In regards to your comments about the property itself, this is confusing as you had nothing but praise for everything about it when I met you there to show you around. Property Owner
