  • "Honestly, the pictures don't do it justice, everything is stunning."

The apartment, the views; everything was stunning, even in February when the weather wasn't the best, I can only imagine how much better the views would be in spring/summer Brilliant facilities all easy to use and manuals in welcome packs if you ain't sure how to use something. Not to far away from shops/pubs/attractions so you feel secluded enough for privacy but not too far away from anywhere you might want to visit My only downsides I can say (and they're not really make or break things) the bed and pillows was more on the softer side, which is okay; I personally just prefer a firmer bed. The couch is a little low to the floor, but again, not a huge problem, unless you struggle with mobility I LOVE how the main rooms lights are all separate so you can just light the area(s) of the room you are using, but I often found myself switching lights off and on to get the lights on/off in the right area(s) so my only suggestion is to label each switch accordingly. This wasn't a problem, I think it would be a nice quality of life change for ease of use; I stayed for 4 nights and never got my head around each switch. And you definitely need to be careful with your head as the roof is rather low and taller people will definitely bang your head if you're not careful. All that being said, I have already recommended this stay to friends and I will definitely be booking again around summer to see how much more beautiful it can be without rain

  • "Overall it is impossible not to enjoy a stay at Lake View."

In balance however: some features exceeded our expectations and some were disappointing. There was an abundance of modern conveniences which made a great first impression and marvellous views: albeit either side of a large tree. The hot tub was a welcome feature and used on a regular basis. In settling in we found the bed very creaky and the pillows were ultra soft. A wooden slat under the wet room door was loose. Being of an older generation we found the sofa very low to sit comfortably and had a little difficulty sitting and rising. We would have sat at the dining table more but the seats were hard wooden ones as it appeared essentially a good quality patio set rather than dedicated indoor dining furniture. Given the general high level of technology the provision of a microwave was conspicuous by its absence. Cleanliness was general good but the standard lamp light bulbs were covered in dust and there were crumbs in between the slats of the table. The pepper mill didn't work. The hot tub was great but positioned central to the small terrace. The terrace table and chairs were at the rear and it was not possible to see the lake when sitting due to the low surrounding wall. If the hot tub was better positioned, and the table and chairs moved to the front, it would be possible to sit and enjoy the view. Access to the property can be difficult to find and it would be helpful to be provided with a specific reference such as What 3 Words or similar. We are certain everyone would none the less enjoy a stay at Lake View but those with age, mobility or medical considerations may experience some difficulties.

The listing didn’t do the property justice….the views from the lounge were far better than the pictures, everything was top quality. Beautiful location, easy to get taxis, great foodie location. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We also noticed that if anyone put a comment on improvement it had been implemented! Would recommend to anyone!

It is a spectacular location with beautiful lake views. The accommodation was first class, everything was of a very high standard and perfectly maintained. Having its own waterfront with kayaks provided was a bonus in our minds. The hot tub was lovely to enjoy in the cool evenings. Wow ... this was a first class holiday.

  • "We had a wonderful honeymoon at Lake View!"

The apartment was spotless, beautifully presented and in the perfect location. It had all the mod cons you need from a self-catering holiday, and everything was furnished to such a high standard. The kayaks were a lovely touch and the hot tub was a welcome luxury after walking in the lakes, especially after Scafell! Having my morning coffee with a view over Windermere was just idyllic, I wish we could go back! Thank you. The only things that would have improved our comfort was having control of the temperature of the apartment, it was quite warm and the thermostat was set at 21 and we couldn’t lower it ourselves. The bedding was hot and the pillows really soft, so I ended up sleeping under the throw instead. A lighter duvet and some spare pillows that guests could pick from would make all the difference. The housekeeper was lovely and did what she could to help. All in all, a remarkable place to stay!

Don’t publish for owner only - One small issue for us, that we were unable to regulate the temp in the bedroom, so sleeping was tricky as a little too warm. Perhaps the option of a thinner quilt ???? Would not stop us returning tho :).

  • "We had a fantastic stay at Lake View and didn’t want to leave."

The views were stunning and the cottage was spotlessly clean. It was quite warm in the cottage, despite there being no underfloor heating on and the bed was a little uncomfortable. It would have helped to have had more information available in the cottage, for example we were only aware of our terrace area because the housekeeper let us know. It was the perfect place to go every day to feed the ducks! Maybe providing some local tourist information or details of buses etc would have been useful, although we found this ourselves. A microwave would also be a useful addition. Having said all of that I’d go back tomorrow if I could. The perfect base for a relaxing break away.

The view was spectacular, even better than I had imagined from the pictures. Kitchen was great, place was super clean. My only criticisms are the bed is noisy when you turn and sounds like the wooden slats are broken. Secondly we were so conscious of the people staying below us as we could hear every single word and footstep they took which considering they were below us it suddenly made us very aware that they would be able to hear us even more and therefore you suddenly struggle to relax. The place would really benefit from some soundproofing, we struggled to sleep until the final night when nobody was underneath us and it was deadly silent. Other than that the place was amazing, far better than I could have imagined.

The heating is stuck on a high setting and the thermostat needs unlocking to be able to use it. The people onsite were unable to fix this problem so the temperature was high throughout the week. 2. The bed is very uncomfortable. For such a high end let, to have a bed with a basic wooden slat base was disappointing and should be corrected. We ended up moving the mattress into the seating area and sleeping on the floor rather than use the bedroom. I recommend you purchase a decent base for the bed as others will surely have similar concerns.

The property Pouper Weir itself was amazing with such great views, very clean and a lovely hot tub to use each night. The only issue we had was the heat within the property. We followed the instructions on how to turn the floor heating right down however the property was still so warm inside which made it very difficult to sleep at night. We could turn the heating right down to the lowest temperature on the control panel but it didn’t seem to have any effect.
