  • "Well where do i start."

The cottage in a fantastic position opposite the train/bus station. It has everything you need to have an enjoyable stay in Grange over Sands. Just a few steps and your on the promenade which has fantastic views over Morecambe Bay. As a keen walker there’s plenty to choose from in Grange or Arnside where is just a short train ride away. Will definitely be returning to the Stables in the future.

Good location for easy access to promenade shops and nice eating out places. Off road parking a big plus point. An additional small table alongside second settee in lounge for placing a drink or book would have been helpful but a minor point really. All in all a nice clean accommodation for a comfortable stay. Had a great week and thank you for welcome bottle. Would certainly visit again..

  • "The property was really nice and comfortable."

For us the location was not ideal, but that would be the only reason we wouldn’t return. Minor points for us, welcome pack was a bit lacking and no clothes airer. Also the information pack was quite basic, and there’s wasn’t a lot of cupboard space to store our food. Parking was really good, and it was nice to be able to walk more or lest straight out onto the promenade.

We found the location very convenient, within easy rich of the south lakes and the railway station just across the road! The property was clean, tidy, spacious and well maintained. We really enjoyed our stay in Grange over sands.

Thank you for your kind feedback, that is exactly why we chose the property with the excellent transport links and we really appreciate your comments on the property !!! Property Owner

Just two niggles, small bathroom in comparison with no shelves and it was a little chilly in the evening as the underfloor heating in the lounge did not appear to work.

Thank you for your feedback, which we appreciate to make the experiences of our guests even better !!! The underfloor heating is pre set and can be turned up via the thermostat on the wall in the lounge if required. (Instructions etc within the welcome pack) Kind regards, Alan Property Owner

  • "The Stables is a very spacious and comfortable property."

It is very well equipped with high quality fixtures and fittings. Everything looked brand new and was immaculate. The cottage is in an excellent position for exploring the area by train or bus and is close to all amenities in Grange. My only recommendation for improvement of the offer would be to provide more information about refuse management. We could find no indication of when to put out the bins for collection, nor could we find blue boxes for the recycling of glass or paper and card.

Thank you for your feedback on the refuse management, we have placed a few boxes in the yard for the recycling and the bins are put out for the guests, so nothing to worry about !!! Property Owner

  • "A lovely place to spend a relaxing week."

The underfloor heating kept us nice and warm despite the wet and windy weather. It was nice to have the locally made soaps and hand lotion and biscuits, the Prosecco was a lovely surprise too. Everything you need in the kitchen apart from a cafetière (we bought one at a shop on the Main Street), there is one of those coffee pod machines though. Train station just across the road, very handy for trains to Silverdale for Leighton Moss RSPB and Ulverston which was interesting to wander around on a wet day. Grange is a lovely place and the promenade walk is a great fir enjoying the wonderful views. All in all a very good stay.

Thank you for your very kind comments, we love it when people appreciate the little touches and locally produced items !!!! Property Owner

The location was perfect for us providing leisurely, pleasant strolls along the main shopping areas, the sea front and also giving us immediate access to the delightful train station and the beautiful coastal rail route. We live in the Lake District so we are already familiar with the many fine things to see and do, but all are accessible from Grange over Sands. For us the draw to this charming town was the stunning coastal area and the railway. We heartily recommend the cottage.

Amazing friendly feedback, almost in the lake district but so much more to see, thank you !!! Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed our week in this very comfortable cottage."

Equipped to the highest standard and in a great location. Unfortunately, badly let down by the lack of rubbish and recycling collection which is totally unacceptable in 21st century UK. Compounded by the fact that this is not mentioned in cottage description when booking and only mentioned in a couple of sentences in the cottage information book when you arrive. It is extremely unreasonable to expect visitors especially families using nappies or other sanitary products to find public bins, which are in short supply, or to go to the tip. People may also arrive from the nearby railway station. Are they expected to take their rubbish/recycling home with them on the train?

Thank you for your comments. Our apologies Ronald, we have managed to change the refuse situation (no longer need to request that guests dispose of their rubbish elsewhere) at the property from the beginning of June. We did notify Lakelovers of this at the time but unfortunately we haven’t had chance to update the welcome book. Kind regards, Alan. Property Owner

Also, lots of good quality crockery and essentials in the kitchen. The shower was good but the pole not long enough for me to open the velux window in the shower room. Altogether very nice.

  • "Dish washer unusable as plates did not fit in due to unusual shape."

Not happy about having to take our rubbish home with us in bin bags. Surely a cottage costing well over £700 per week could arrange some sort of refuse collection. Stripping beds before leaving was also unsatisfactory and if this was because of the covid outbreak then this should be explained to be understood. All seemed like a money saving effort and not done with the holiday maker in mind.

Thank you Mary for your comments. The Denby plates are a quirky shape, so a little fiddly fitting them in the dishwasher, apologies you weren’t able to get them in. The refuse can now be disposed of at the property. (You don’t have to dispose at the local refuse tip any more). Kind regards, Alan. Property Owner
