Property was clean and well equipped, and had a great view over morecambe bay.

We really enjoyed our stay here, however had an issue with the toilet and wasn’t fixed for 4 days. Apartment is in a good location and within 50mins/1 hour of main towns and walks.

Everything we required was available.

We have stayed here several times now and love the apartment and the view of Morecambe Bay.

We enjoyed our stay despite the rainy weather.

It’s a great base for various walks, closeness to train station and convenience of supermarkets, pubs and local shops. Walking up from the town requires a reasonable fitness but there are benches along the way to rest if necessary. Being higher up meant we had a distant view of the bay beyond the rooftops from the huge windows of lounge and kitchen. A real bonus! Would stay again if time permitted. There is no washing machine and no WiFi which in the end didn’t spoil our holiday. Mobile signal was patchy but we were lucky not to have had an emergency. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The greatest thing about Baytree Apartment is the magnificent view from the lounge and kitchen windows, as one can see right across Morecambs Bay!

Of course this great view is available only because one is on the hillside. But my sister and I are 74 and we managed the walk up and down teh hill quite easily. We found Grange over Sands to be a delightful little place. there is a lovely walk along the esplanade - all on the flat: but for the adventurous there is a great hike up to Hampsfell Hospice, which is not too strenuous. The apartment itself is generally well equipped. It has a new kitchen and the bathroom is comapct but a good shower once the temperature has settled. The bed is uncomfortable, as one is very aware of the springs,, but otherwise we were very satisfied with everything.

Lovely quiet, relaxing, break.

Apartment was spotlessly clean and contained everything we needed. We enjoyed the view from the living room window, particularly the constantly changing light. The walk back from town is steep, but we are 70 ish year olds and did not find it too bad

Good flat with the facilities needed.

I stayed for a long period of time and they kindly offered for the cleaners to come and change the linen weekly which was brilliant. Had a slight issue with the plumbing leaking into the flat downstairs but that all got sorted out, with good communication and a visit from a plumber. The armchairs in the living room were very comfy, the sofa slightly less so but that wasn’t an issue for me. There was no WiFi (as advertised) which was alright but the signal is patchy. Lovely views from the windows looking out onto the sea and very pretty gardens, even saw a deer running through them a couple of times.

We stayed at Baytree Apartment for four days in June as we wanted to visit a number of historic houses in the area and see a bit of the Lake District.

The flat was generally comfortable & spacious - though we found the bed a little uncomfortable. The bathroom had been modernised recently and had a good shower. The view from the window was superb - just a shame that a building opposite had scaffolding around it at the time of our visit. The owner contacted us in advance to assure that we had the key information and we gained access easily. The one downside is that the hill up from the centre of Grange is very steep and a bit longer than expected and there is only a very limited circular bus service which goes in different directions in the morning and afternoon! For this reason we used the car to go down - fortunately (in a way!) the only Good Beer Guide pub in the town was a bit grim so we only visited once for one pint! Of course we wouldn't have had the splendid view if it wasn't for the hill - we sat looking out every evening and didn't use the TV as the constantly changing light was a joy to behold! Recommended!

Really comfortable & clean apartment.

Nicely situated to explore the lake district, my wife & I had a lovely time.

As my husband is over 6ft tall, the sofa and chairs are a bit low, we managed for the 3 nights but maybe not for a whole week.

Beds super comfy, views brilliant, friendly neighbours, great base for touring the southern Lakes.

Our second visit to Baytree, a great place for a holiday - even in 2024's not-so-great British summer.

The apartment is very well equipped and the view is spectacular even in the rain. Grange over Sands is a pleasant town with a lovely prom for quiet walks. The apartment is also an ideal base for visits to Bowness and the Lakes but be prepared for the shock of crowds!

This is the third time we've been to this little haven.

I think that's a good indicator of how wonderful it is.

We stayed here once before, 8 years ago, and loved it then and loved it just as much this time.

The flat itself proved excellent in every room, and the ever-changing view of Morecambe Bay is fascinating even in bad weather. All in all a brilliant week for us. Some very very minor comments: (1) cooking on the induction hob was a challenge but we managed it; (2) there were no instructions we could find for the DVD or CD players which would have been helpful (again we eventually figured these out); (3) the TV remote worked perfectly well during the day, but didn't work easily or at all sometimes in the evening! (changing batteries made no difference - very strange); (4) the radiators were brilliant but I have done something to the one immediately by the lounge door and it no longer seems to work. Sorry about that. Information booklet concerning the radiators was too complex for me!! Thank you Mike.

The views over Morecambe Bay from the kitchen and lounge are spectacular. Good location for walking in the southern lakes but a steep climb up from Grange village.

The flat is well positioned and provides all essentials.

The walk up from the town is steep, but you soon get used to it! The only downside was that I didn;t find the settee very comfortable.

We really enjoyed our stay in this well equipped apartment, not least the wonderful views across the bay.

We alternated walks along the promenade in Grange over Sands with day trips to the attractions of the Lake District. There is so much to explore, it's no wonder so many guests make return visits to this property.

We are fans of Grange over Sands and surrounding area.

This was our second time at Baytree Apartment. While it was good the first time (this was the reason we had booked it again) this time it had the added benefit of a recent good quality new kitchen and bathroom. It was clean, tidy and comfortable. It lacks some non-essential frills like a dishwasher and washing machine but it has a nice garden area to the back and allocated parking. The apartment is close to the town but on a steep hill which gives you a work out on the way back up but as a result the view over the bay is great. We have booked to go again for a few months’ time.

Excellent week at the Baytree.

Loved the view and James Bond villain chairs to swivel round. Well equipped. Although a good non stick would have been appreciated. Great area for exploring on foot, car or train the southern fells, nearby Carmel and Ulverston.

This is our second visit to Baytree and we'll be back for a 3rd.

TV a bit slow. Lovely new kitchen, well equipped. Huge new shower. Great sleeps. Superb views. Ideal.

Everything about the flat was extremely good and we would recommend it.

There is a very steep climb for non motorists, like us to Charney Road, from centre of Grange. However, we would book this flat again. The view from the flat is wonderful! Just two small points, lamp over bed head didn't appear to work and the table leg in front room fell off when we tried to move it out of the corner!

We could have happily stayed longer!

This wee apartment is an absolute gem of a find. This was our first visit to the area and we planned a hiking and cycling holiday, Grange over Sands was a great base. The town is a pretty and friendly place with plenty of shops and eateries. The Fruit and Veg shop was brilliant and there were many other independent traders. We didn’t use the butcher but it was always pretty busy on passing! If you’re not too mobile then it is quite a hill to walk back to the property! The apartment itself was very homely and comfortable, the 2 chairs were great for relaxing in after a active day out with amazing views over the town to the bay…..we didn’t put the TV on once! The kitchen was modern with everything you need, the bathroom was modern and functional. The bed was firm but very comfortable for us, plenty of room for hanging clothing and putting things away in draws. We would highly recommend this apartment. *there is a parking space marked, one morning we found a black scuff mark on our vehicle which we think was caused by the black car that parks in the bay for No49. Fortunately it wasn’t dented. This is obviously outwith the control of the owners but just for noting, there is plenty of parking on the road if required.

Our stay at bay tree apartment was amazing, the views from the kitchen and living room were some of the best I've ever seen,the apartment had a well equipped kitchen ,bed was comfortable,clean and warm,perfect location.

lots of things to see and do in Grange over sands and surrounding areas. The locals are very friendly and welcoming. We definitely would book this again,and would recommend booking here

1st floor apartment with great views across the Bay in Excellent and clean condition, very comfortable, well equipped with almost everything needed for our holiday.

The only exception was the lack of internet which we knew was not provided, but we just managed without it using our mobile data. Would certainly recommend this apartment in this pleasent, quiet and friendly location.

This is the secon time we have stayed at Baytree and enjoyed it just as much.

The new kitchen is an improvement. The location is very quiet and the views are spectacular-worth the pull up the hill ! We hope to be back again in the future.

I had a last minute stay at Baytree apartment for 3 nights.

The property is absolutely fabulous, recently updated, very comfortable and outstanding views.Very quiet and peaceful,friendly neighbours and attentive host,Mike,very helpful if needed. I really enjoyed my stay there and look forward to returning in the not too distant future. Great place to stay.

I have stayed here previously and the new kitchen, new bathroom and other updates made the flat very comfortable for my recent holiday.

It was a pleasure to be there. As always the views were stunning. I will definitely stay again.

Ideal location if you want access to the south lakes, the coast, or the dales.

The flat is a very good base, everything you could want is included. The view from the window is very nice. I took my bike, cycling into the south lakes is pretty easy with many back roads around Cartmel and Cartmel fell.

An excellent apartment with excellent facilities.

Close to local amenities and is the ideal base for visiting the lake district.

Lovely location - awful, awful condition.

Dirty towels, dried food in the microwave, rusty pans that couldn't be used, scratched and greasy frying pans with non-stick coating flaking off, absolutely disgusting dirty and mouldy shower curtain, utensils in the drawers that still had dried food attached, dirty mugs in the cupboard, food debris down the side of the cooker... all photographed and reported to Sykes. Oh, yes, dirty freezer and fridge with gunky food residue and the stair handrail was sticky and dirty... all of this in a time of a Covid pandemic... so much for Covid-safe cleaning! I spent a good couple of hours washing and cleaning just to feel safe enough to stay overnight. As an aside, the bed is rock hard and the floorboards creak loudly (and I mean loud enough to echo through the whole flat). Honestly - I cannot even comprehend how the owner feels that a mouldy shower curtain, still caked in dirty sludge, is acceptable for his customers. Similarly, would he want to cook with rusty flaking saucepans or use utensils that have melted through to the nylon core all complete with added dried on food debris? This is a lovely, budget-friendly apartment but a low price shouldn't mean lower hygiene and cleanliness. What a pity that housekeeping issues completely ruined our time there.

A lovely apartment, with beautiful views of the Morecambe Bay Estuary, with comfortable swivel chairs to look through the Juliet Balcony at it.

Bed not quite so comfortable, but O.K. Quiet residential area and, as stated, a very steep hill ... but an easy walk to the top of Hampsfell. However, without a car, not easy to nip out for a pint of milk. It was hard work pulling my suitcase up from the Railway Station! Lots of maps and details of walks in the area.

The apartment is comfortable and clean and as spectacular views overlooking Morecombe Bay.

We found the only down side to the apartment is the extremely creaky floor boards throughout the property. Every step you take creaks, it's unavoidable and when two of you are moving around at the same time its quite off-putting and noisy .

Most fantastic view out over Morecambe Bay through the big windows.

Only down side is it is a tough walk up from the shops. 10 minutes down and 15 back up with a sweat on. Thanks for a great week.

The apartment was lovely the photos did not do it justice very quiet and peaceful.

We would go back but the mattress is very, very hard like sleeping on the floor.

Clean and comfortable apartment with great views over Grange out to Morecombe Bay.

Very quiet and peaceful, surrounded by greenery, it was lovely to sit with patio window open in fine weather. Neighbours were quiet and pleasant, with good parking and rubbish / recycling provision for the apartment blocks. The property would probably suit keen walkers needing a comfortable base rather than indoor down-timers or keen cooks. There are limited options for a short stroll due to uphill position - a car is more or less essential to go down into town for shopping or a walk along the front - and the lack of wi-fi is a big drawback, particularly as phone connectivity was weak and unreliable. (However freeview TV, DVD and CD player all worked well.) Despite this, it was a good spot for me being 2 minutes walk away from relatives and I will book again.

Steep walk back from the town

The host Mr Flitcroft was very helpful, friendly and welcoming.

The apartment is lovely, very clean, modern and in a quiet peaceful residential area, with lots of lovely walks. This is the 2nd time I have stayed here and will visit regularly in the future. I would highly recommend this high quality apartment. Kind regards Doctor Graham

Everything had been thought of - there was even a friendly neighbourhood cat to pat!

There is only one matter I'd like to draw attention to and this concerns the cleanliness of the kitchen door .

There was some grime where people commonly touch the door with their hands under the area of the handles and this was most apparent to the rear side facing the rubbish bin behind the door. Other doors needed less attention in this respect. I would also draw your attention to the bin being so very close to the warm air ventilation duct as this increases the potential for bad odours coming from the bin and possibly even a fire hazard if the bin's contents were particularly flammable,- although this is improbable. I hope you attended to renewing the strip light filament in the kitchen as this declined to illuminate in the evenings. The area immediately behind the entrance door reflects some dampness but these odours were managed by the wall heater in that area. Overall I enjoyed my week in the flat and would come there again.

A new mattress would make a difference otherwise it was good

Well equipped, everything you need. Squeaky floors throughout were very annoying, comments re this in the visitors book as far back as 2016. Would return as long as the floors are fixed.

We had a lovely relaxing week but the apartment could do with a new mattress and a lighter duvet for summer only little things but would make the stay more comfortable.

Grange Over Sands is a very convenient place to stay for the Southern Lakes and lovely places to visit

This apartments was absolutely to my taste.

A modern finishing, everything there, you would need. I stayed for 4 weeks in total, and each fFriday I got a new set of towels, beddings, even a basket for breakfast was prepared, with coffee, milk, cacao, jam, biscuits, so absolutely sweet! The accommodation was very clean and tidy, the views were stunning, the neighbours friendly and quiet. No one could ask for more, The kitchen was well equipped, and so nice, that even, me with my poor abilties in cooking felt tempted to try. If my husband had been with me, I really would... There was only one single thing, that could be improved; The bathroom is very nice, but I would prefer a Glas separation instead of a ? Sheet? ( Sorry, I am German) The contact to the owner was very nice, he helped me out, when I had difficulties with understanding the carefully done instructions, because English isn’t my first language. Meeting up with three branches of our family staying in separate accommodation in the area for the week, we found it easy to link up, see the sights, and only had to look out of our window to see Morecambe Bay.

Suggestion made in visitors book of blackout curtains for the bedroom window, would have been helpful when we woke early to bright sunshine, but that's a quibble!

The apartment had all the facilities I needed for a comfortable week and was very warm and cosy.

The view from the lounge and kitchen windows was delightful - right across the Bay. Even though it was February, if the sun was out, I didn't even need the heating on as the place warmed up so much with the sun pouring through the big picture windows. The area was very quiet and peaceful and, providing you are fit enough to manage the very steep hill on the way back, walkable down to the wonderful promenade and shops in Grange itself. My only negative was that, despite trying on numerous occasions, I couldn't get in touch with the owner to get the keysafe code. Fortunately, Sykes were able to give me the code, but I then had problems when I arrived finding where the keysafe was especially as there were 2 hidden in a storecupboard! Had I been able to contact the owner, it would probably have been made clear which keysafe to use and where to find it. However, again, Sykes were extremely helpful and eventually sorted it for me so I could get in. This would not deter me from returning for another holiday as the apartment is lovely but it is worth mentioning as it made the process more difficult than it should have been. Many thanks to Sykes though for sorting it out for me.
