Lovely converted block down an almost single track road (don't worry there's plenty of places to move over) - there's a little sign out the front to tell you where it is.

A quiet location - if you don't count the chickens/roosters popping over to say hi

We loved every second of our stay.

Janet and David are absolutely fantastic hosts. The nature around our accommodation was beautiful and also the hens and roosters we become friends with. We love it.

We initially booked The Stables as it was close to family.

Once we arrived we realised it wasn’t just about proximity, but a real gem. We loved our stay. Comfortable, spotless and tasteful. Janet and David were lovely hosts. The cheeky chickens were a bonus. Would definitely stay again!!

Beautifully appointed accommodation with everything one needs for a few days of relaxing and unwinding in the Lancashire countryside.

This cottage could of had sleeping bags in This place is just stunning in side and out.

Every thing you need and more. The owners Janet and David are so welcoming and warm. The views are just stunning and so quiet,if this is what your after. If you just want to chill out I highly recommend this cottage.They have 5 small animals that great you at some point of the stay will not tell you what they are, because that will ruin the surprise. This has been our second visit and the cottage is absolutely gorgeous.

Every thing was clean and comfortable.We would definitely be back again sometime.

We found the cottage to be very well equipped and spotlessly clean.

Everything we needed was there and our hosts, Janet and David were very helpful, answering any questions we had and providing advice when requested. The cottage is in a lovely quiet location but only a short drive from all the attractions that we wanted to visit. The welcome pack which included local honey and chocolates was a lovely surprise. The chickens were also very amusing. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and would totally recommend the cottage to others. We will certainly be looking to return.

The location was fabulous, perfect for a quiet break away from the hustle & bustle of work.

There was a lovely welcome pack on our arrival from Janet. The cottage was perfect, well maintained and had everything we needed. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway. We definitely plan on visiting again.

Excellent property we were met by Janet & David on arrival as they were in their beautiful garden.

The Stables was beautiful decorated to a very high standard. Everything you would need for a wonderful home from home including a fantastic welcome pack. The chickens are a fun interaction. We turned right out of the farm and went on a five mile circular walk where we came across some lovely tea rooms. Turn left out of the farm and there’s a beautiful walk of about a mile to a pub. The products in the bathroom were so fabulous I have ordered them for myself. There is an amazing log fire we didn’t need it but it would be lovely in the winter. Great internet connection. We will definitely return.

Beautiful cottage very clean beautiful white bedding and towels , lovely hot shower and the welcome pack an added bonus so kind .

janet and David are friendly hosts and the cottage is a credit to them . The chickens are also friendly and like a treat if you have any lol . There are lots of places to visit in the surrounding areas . If I could suggest one thing would be a small coffee table in front of the couch .but aside from that everything else was fab would highly recommend.

Perfect, perfect, perfect!

Very comfortable and well appointed accommodation. Lovely welcome pack on arrival. Great quiet location with views over the adjacent fields. Amusing company provided by the little resident flock of chickens - providing hours of entertainment, but who were not shy in requesting treats. I really did not want to go home. In the immortal words of Arnold Schwarzenegger - “I’ll be back”

We stayed here for 4 nights and it was fantastic!

Janet and her chickens welcomed us upon arrival. There were plenty of resources in the cottage plus welcoming snacks, toilet roll and hand soap etc. We didn’t find the sofa as comfortable as we’d have liked too especially as we rarely left the cottage and were staying a number of nights. We’d have also loved to have a coffee table but did manage without. The chicken’s were very friendly and loved stayed outside the front door. Plenty of parking and given plenty of towels including for the kitchen as well as bathroom. We enjoyed an evening walk as well and looking at the beautiful greenery surround the cottage. The whole cottage was absolutely immaculate and well looked after! It was quiet and didn’t hear cars very often - only the chickens from time to time when they came to visit us. Thank you for a lovely stay! ☺️

We had a lovely peaceful week in The Stables.

Set in a quiet rural setting The Stables is perfectly placed for visiting many places such as Lytham and Southport. We had a warm welcome by Janet and received a nice welcome pack. Despite the cold weather we were warm inside thanks to the central heating, and had everything we needed. The kitchen was well equipped; a comfortable lounge area with Freeview TV; decent WiFi; great shower. Everywhere was immaculately clean. Great to see some chickens and cockerel roaming around, coming to say hello from time to time. We would definitely stay again here when we come back to the area, and highly recommend it.

Really tastefully, well converted farm building ideal for a couple to either "chill out" walking locally or visit the West Lancashire area.

Janet and David, the owners are very friendly and on hand if needed. No hesitation in recommending this holiday property.

The Stables ticks all the boxes for us, it’s perfect for our family visits back home.

The property is obviously very well maintained, immaculately clean, set in a lovely relaxing location and Janet is a wonderful host who can’t do enough if you need some help or advice!

We explained we were between moving houses and had quite a few bags in our car. To save cluttering our space with our extra belongings, Janet kindly provided some storage space elsewhere during our stay, this was great as we didn’t have to worry about keeping it in the car either! The accommodation was completely spotless and the kitchen had everything you could need. So much information listed in the information pack provided. The area itself was very quiet and peaceful (day and night) resulting in some great nights sleep. The owners were only a knock (or text!) away if we ever needed anything. The chickens were an enjoyable bonus to simply watch wandering around the garden or sat waiting to greet you by the doorstep. It was also nice to have the unexpected welcome pack with some delicious goodies on arrival too! Thanks again for a great stay

We had a very comfortable, relaxing stay.

The property is situated in lovely countryside, but 6 minutes drive to facilities. The accommodation was fresh and clean, well designed and private. Would thoroughly recommend.

Spotlessly clean and furnished to a high level of quality and function. Super comfy and we didn't want to leave. A warm welcome from Janet and the chickens.

We had a very enjoyable stay here and we were particularly pleased by how spotlessly clean everything was!

It made us feel able to relax from the first day. The host was on hand to answer any of our questions and provide tips on local walks which we took advantage of being able to do from the doorstep. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if we were to revisit the area.

Janet is a wonderful host and goes out of her way to make sure the property is immaculately clean and comfortable, this was our second visit and we will certainly be checking availability next time we are in the area.

This is a lovely quiet little property which we used as a bolt hole while visiting family in the area.

The are some nice walks close by and the nature reserve in Longton is to be recommended. The Stables is beautifully presented and comfortable. The owner provided some really great extras to welcome us in including a beautiful vase of tulips on the table. The resident chickens were very friendly which added charm to the location.

This is a lovely, luxury cottage with fantastic attention to detail.

It’s spotlessly clean and fitted out tastefully to a very high standard. Its beautiful location out in the country, yet close to towns and transport networks, is also a big plus. I thoroughly enjoyed my four-week stay and thank the hosts for looking after me so well.

The owners, Janet and David are very friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. Always on hand if you need them, but still respecting our privacy during our stay. Cottage is very clean, well equipped and in such a lovely rural location. Great for local walking, especially to the village of Longton, which has great pubs and restaurants, aswell as a Booths supermarket. The Golden Ball in the village does an excellent Sunday lunch. Cottage is in a great location for both Lytham, Southport and easy access to Preston town centre. All in all would definitely recommend a stay here, you won’t be disappointed. Me and my husband stayed here for over 3 weeks recently and we had a lovely time.

Janet the owner was so friendly and super accommodating throughout sending fresh bedding, towels and anything we needed actually. The cottage is very cosy, situated in the most beautiful surroundings and well equipped with high quality furnishings. Our only small issues (for us) we’re due to our staying longer than average, the sofa didn’t do much to support us. It was hard and really lacked comfort when trying to relax and watch a film. Also the bed is only a double, so sharing that with a man who is 6”1 was a real challenge. We struggled to sleep some nights because there just wasn’t space. That being said we are used to king sized and the bed was super comfy with the begging being high quality. Would be fine for a weekend. Lastly for those who need internet, we did have to buy a dongle because WiFi connection was bad, again that was only because my husband had to work from home, normally its not a problem and Janet did try her best to fix it. Overall we had a great experience and would definitely recommend.

The property is very well appointed, modern and spotlessly clean.

The location of the property is ideal for easy access to the Fylde coast and all its amenities and inland to the Trough of Bowland. The owner Janet was very welcoming and friendly and clearly has put her own personal stamp on the property by the excellent fixtures, fittings and decor. We had a most enjoyable stay at the property.

This cottage is amazing certainly 5* very contemporary clean and welcoming plenty to see in the area will certainly like to go back again especially to use the log fire have a winter holiday Janet the owner made us very welcome and left us wine and chocolates and tea/coffe /milk honey and biscuits everything was perfect we were well taken care of thank you Janet

Wonderful place.

The cottage was perfect, a lot of thought has gone into it to make you feel comfortable and at home. Lovely owner and not forgetting the 3 very friendly chickens. I wish we could have stayed longer and we hope to come back. It is in a beautiful setting and made us feel so relaxed.

The Stables have been converted to a very high standard. Janet was very friendly and helpful and left some lovely treats to welcome us. The hens are lovely and didn't wake us up. Good cafe and pub/restaurant locally and well placed for visiting surrounding area. Only problem was that it was too warm to test the Morso stove, we'll need to go back in winter!

Stayed twice now at The Stables and enjoyed both visits, Janet couldn't be more helpful and we found The Stables comfortable and everything we needed for a relaxing stay.

The chickens are a delight to watch and trying to capture a picture of the hare that visits is a challenge which we failed he's too quick for us.

The cottage was absolutely divine.

Janet has such wonderful tastes in everything that the cottage was equipped with . Towels were sumptuous - shower was superb. In fact everything was of the highest quality. Nothing was too much for Janet - There when you needed help and advice . The three resident chuckins - Hetty - Henrietta and " Boris" the bully were a delight - you need grapes and /or blueberries to keep them occupied !!! In all - a very delightful stay .

A hidden gem of a property.

My ideal place. No fuss but everything you need with exceptional quality, taste and attention to detail. Very high quality , immaculately maintained and modern. Peaceful and relaxing stay I have now added this to my favorites and will definitely be back. Hosts are wonderful and friendly and happy to help with anything you need yet very unobtrusive allowing you to enjoy your time there uninterrupted. I loved the little extras left to welcome us and the 3 resident hens visiting everyday for their blueberries which they loved. I would love to live out my days in something as beautiful as this ...here's hoping. Good base for all surrounding excursions too. Southport, ormskirk (market on Sat) Preston, Blackpool to name a few. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute and an absolute bargain too. Overwhelmingly recommended !!

This was a lovely small compact cottage.

It had everything it needed in it. The bed was unbelievably comfortable as were the pillows. I really can't fault it at all. It was so nice to open the front door in the mornings to be greeted by the most gorgeous hens, only three. Was scared of them to start with but soon got used to them. Brilliant owners as well. This place is an absolute gem!

Not too far from Preston and do-able drive to The Lake District and Manchester. The decor inside the property was stunning and spic and span throughout! Owners were very friendly and helpful. The whole week was heavenly and we really didn't want to go home. Would love to come again!

Janet was lovely and with the cottage being right next door happy to help if you needed anything.

Great place for exploring the area from Chester to the Lakes, also in a peaceful setting but only a mile drive from excellent major road links.

The Stables cottage is an excellent place to stay.

The cottage is well equipped, clean and comfy. Janet is an excellent, welcoming host. We were surprised by the welcome package, which was lovely. Janet was incredibly helpful and was able to help us securely store our bikes. A lovely stay, thank you.

Lovely clean cottage and the owner Janet was very welcoming and helpful.

The cottage was in a peaceful setting and was immaculate, with everything we needed for our stay. The cooker was easy to use and everything was of a very good standard. There was also a large fridge and freezer. We catered for a whole week with no problems. There are nice walks from the cottage up the River Ribble and you could walk miles along the river. We also walked to to the local wildlife park Longton Brickcroft nature reserve, 5 mins by car.

Janet and her husband who live opposite are lovely people. Nice modern and quirky furnishings. Location was good for us as we wanted to visit Lake District for couple of days which is around 90 minutes drive and cities of Blackpool (30 minutes drive) and Liverpool is nearby too.

Excellent cottage with a great host, proposed to my partner while I was away which made it extra special.

We were the very first booking for this property and to be honest it was very nearly perfect.

It was extremely well presented and very comfortable. There were a few things that went wrong but the owner was more than helpful in sorting them The wifi connection was very poor at times
