  • "Me and my boyfriend visited for the weekend."

Such a lovely property, very clean and comfortable. We loved every minute. Owners messaged to pre warn us on the day of unexpected snow :) Lovely and warm, and the views were amazing! Only issue we had was that when we had a bath, it would leak through into the living-room space when emptying the bath.

All credit to the designers who managed to fit in so much within the space available. We did find the open plan upstairs and downstairs difficult to get adjusted to as the layout made sound travel throughout. The location was beautiful with the use of a large garden overlooking the hillside and the owners very helpful and friendly.A long way back to the main road but worth the effort to stay in such a lovely hamlet with no through road to anywhere else. This made it a very peaceful place to stay.

Cupboards in kitchen area are a little odourous maybe put some kind of dehumidifier in to alleviate problem. The garden is not really secure if you have a small dog . loved the garden although it wasn't quite warm enough to sit in, it was big enough to wander in and look at the view and sheep and lambs The cottage was comfortable and had modern fittings. Comfortable bed and good shower. The veranda was ideal for if it rained. The Hamlet was a lovely getaway. Forest of Bowland had some quaint villages and rivers and Clitheroe had a castle, museum and a park with sculptures and was nearest town. Only downside was the very narrow windy roads with poor surfaces off the main roads but we are used to them where we live . We visited Skipton Malton and Saltaire which are not far over the border into Yorks. A lovely holiday off the beaten track.

Small but perfectly formed and ideal for me and my spaniel. The weather wasn't kind but we managed to get around ok. The surrounding countryside was beautiful (and wet) but not ideal for walking a pheasant mad dog. Some of the fences weren't secure so she got into sheep fields looking for pheasants. She wasn't interested in sheep. Also she managed to get out of the garden into field at the bottom so had to stay on the lead. But apart from these trials we really enjoyed our stay and Sykes handled things very well.

The owners certainly have put their hearts and souls into presenting an old Viking barn in a state-of-the-art, 5 star manner. Whatever they do, they do with style and quality. The cottage is small, no doubt, but we, as a couple, found it very comfortable and enjoyable, even for a longer term stay. We prepared a variety of meals in the well equipped kitchen, , relaxed in the little, cosy, country lounge room and slept oh so well in a very comfortable bed fitted with quality linen. The bathroom was immaculate and functional with contemporary fittings. Every detail had been considered down to all doors and drawers being soft closing, throws supplied for outdoor sitting on cooler days/nights and lovely rattan chairs for daydreaming whilst looking out over the natural garden setting complete with flowing stream and out to the fields beyond, dotted with dozens of sheep. The cottage is set down a pretty country lane with pheasants almost forming a guard of honour as a welcome! Nature abounds in this area and it is a thrill to walk along the rivers and climb over the rolling green hills. We picked a bucket load of blackberries from along the lanes and ended our walks with cream teas or dinner at one of the local pubs. We don’t hesitate to recommend Saetr Cottage if you want to make gorgeous memories.

It is a bit remote but fittings and furnishings were of exceptionally high quality. Now that we've had the holiday, this has stopped. I phoned Sykes, was promised something about undoing cookies, but nothing happened. This never occurred before when I booked with Sykes.
