"Property was clean and tidy."
It was spacious but lacked a few essentials. For example, The bath had no safety grab rails, which made it difficult to get in and out of which could be a safety issue. Also there was no bath mats, not really enough towels for seven days. Only one tea towel for the wk, if known, we would have brought more along with more bath towels. There was no mop or dust pan and brush for kitchen floor. Overall we were happy with the house, it felt very friendly. If anyone was to stay in the top room we would advise that the stairs leading to it are very steep so be very careful, especially when coming down. Sofas in lounge were a little uncomfortable after a while. It would have been nice to have had a little more comfort after days out. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, so slept well. All in all it was an enjoyable stay and would recommend the house. Just to further advise that there is no washing machine, so may need to bring a few more clothes.
Thank you for your review. We're pleased that you had an enjoyable stay. Best wishes, Eleni and Brendan Property Owner

"Cosy cottage with all you need."
The beds unbelievably comfortable. Great enclosed rear garden for dogs. Fantastic log burner. In winter front path was very slippy so take care. Great for a family with the extra attic room. A lovely stay. A visitors book would be good.
Many thanks for your kind review. We did consider a visitors' book but, as there can be quite some time between our visits, we can respond more quickly to comments on the Sykes site. We hope you return in the future, Eleni and Brendan. Property Owner

"A good stay."
We would have liked a brush and mop so that we could give the hard floors downstairs a clean.
we're pleased that you had a good stay. we do provide a dustpan and brush, cloth, bucket and cleaning products all under the sink. but, as a result of your kind feedback we will add a mop and long handled brush. thank you and hope to see you again. Property Owner

"28 Rock villas was a superb property, well appointed, comfy, clean great location and we are just in the process of choosing which week to return next autumn."
There were three little gremlins which, if addressed would make the property more than perfect. Toilet paper is very thin and disintegrates on use - sorry if thats too much information! Bath towels could be a bit larger, they are a little on the small side for showering etc. But the main problem was the heating. We were not interested in the log fire but expected the central heating to be appropriate for the time of year. We arrived on the second day of Storm Amy to a very cold house at 4pm continually expecting the heating to come on as the book informed us it was on a timer. It eventually came on at 7.15pm by which time we were very cold. It only stayed on for a short period and that was the pattern for the rest of the stay. There was no heating in the morning when we got up and the evening slot was somewhat erratic in its timing. We tried to advance its coming on by turning the middle dial, sometimes this worked, sometimes not. Other than that instruction there were no clues as to the operation of the system. The judicious employment of hot water bottles and fleece blankets brought by us meant that we managed to stay reasonably warm but it wasn't ideal and we would like to think that this situation could be improved for our return visit next year. We wondered if there was an instruction book missing? We did not let any of the above spoil what was a truly lovely stay in a brilliant property . Oh and thank you so much for the chocolate and the wine, they were most welcome. John and Susan and Rosie the dog.
We're so happy that you'll be booking a further stay. We do appreciate your feedback and will address all concerns: We have engaged new cleaners at the end of this month who will be using our choice of towels and toilet tissue. Quality and coverage guaranteed! The Hive thermostat should be easily adjustable but we will programme a higher baseline temperature now the season are turning. Many thanks, Brendan and Eleni Property Owner

"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay."
The cottage was clean, warm, well-maintained. The conservatory was particularly inviting to sit and watch wildlife. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was great to relax in. The only issue was an error in the listing concerning the wood burner, but the owner sorted this out very quickly. The steps down into the kitchen and then down into the conservatory are steep and these aren't mentioned in cottage listing. They are identified in the information on arrival. These were difficult for our aged little dog and could be an issue for small children. Could be worthwhile adding these to the listing.
So pleased that you enjoyed your stay. We'll ask Sykes to amend their information to point out the steepish steps. Property Owner

"We stayed for three nights at the house for a bird watching trip."
The house is ideally located to be able to walk to Leighton Moss and its shore hides. The beds were very comfy as was the house in general and we'd happily stay again. Everything was pretty much as you can see in the description and photos. We were unsure what to do with the bed linen on departure as we recieved no instructions nor was it in the information pack in the cottage, it also wasn't clear which recycling went in which bins so an update to the information pack would help. A stereo in the front room would have been good (although there was a small radio in the dining room we could have moved) and the knives and scissors could do with a sharpen but all of these were minor issues in what was a satisfying stay in a nice house.
Good to hear that you enjoyed your stay. As our guests are on holiday, we don't expect the beds to be stripped. We will make it clear which recycling boxes are which. We now have a knife sharpener at the house. Property Owner

"Very spacious accommodation with lovely garden and amazing views."
Excellent location. Perfect base for touring but also just for relaxing with plenty to do within the local vicinity. Well appointed. A washing machine would have been useful, as would a designated parking space, but I am being very pick there. I have absolutely no complaints and would recommend anyone to stay there.
Thank you for your feedback, Simon. We hope, in the not too distant future, to provide a washing machine for guests. Brendan and Eleni Property Owner

"We enjoyed our stay very much (3 generations)."
Lovely comfortable beds( sofas not as much) coffee machine a lovely treat! Maintenance wise a couple of problems-did leave a note at the property- ****Did find it a bit of a pain having to wash and dry all pots before we left instead of using the dishwasher - we found out that the sink leaks and had a mini flood in the kitchen!!! *****Also the bath plug does not seal fully making it virtually impossible to have a bath. Despite these niggles we would recommend this property.
So pleased that you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Thank you for the heads up so that we could deal with the maintenance issue promptly. Property Owner

"A quiet, comfortable stay ."
The owners have put thought and care into the equipment and furnishings and it was an ideal refuge during Storm Floris! We enjoyed lovely local walks in this area’s special limestone habitat. Our first visit to the area, but we’re looking at returning soon. Thank you for the treats left for us .
Thank you for taking the time to leave such lovely feedback. We would be delighted to host you again in the future. No storms next time! Brendan and Eleni. Property Owner

"We enjoyed a comfortable stay in this Victorian semi-detached house which was clean, well presented and well equipped."
The beds were comfortable with good quality bedding. Good wifi, powerful shower and modern furnishings. The location was a short walk to the cove and the village centre and there are many walks both from the door or within a short drive. It is also close to RSPB Leighton Moss which we often visit. Communication from the owners was efficient and friendly and the property is recommended for a stay in the Silverdale area.
