  • "You can not rely on Sykes management to sort out maintenance problems if you have a problem."

The owner was approachable & helpful. Apart from that, the cottage was very comfortable & clean, Comfortable walks into Windermere and to Bowness

  • "We just enjoyed a wonderful stay at Cherry Tree Cottage as a family of four."

The cottage had everything we needed in terms of facilities, and the location was perfect- within walking distance of Windermere town centre with a lovely park on the way for the children. As well as Booths supermarket being a short drive away, there is a very well stocked convenience shop at the end of the street for picking up any extras. The cottage was very clean with good quality towels and bedding. It had a homely, comfortable feel with everything we needed to keep the children and ourselves entertained before bed after days out. The kitchen/dining area were well equipped and a good size for the four of us. We would definitely recommend the cottage and will consider returning in the future.

Thanks for the great review. Glad you had a good time. I have just arrived for a week here myself and the corner shop is amazing. It was not like that last time I was here. Hope you come back. Ian Property Owner

  • "Lovely, immaculately clean cottage in a convenient location."

The cottage is located very close to other houses and doesn't have a view, however it is extremely peaceful despite this. Nice to be able to walk into the town from the cottage. You can also walk into Bowness, although a very steep walk uphill back, but plenty of buses to hop on if needed.

  • "Charming and cosy cottage down a quiet suburban lane."

Spotlessly clean with comfortable beds and a very well stocked kitchen. I travelled with my sister, it is a perfect size for 2 people. The only thing missing was a hairdryer. There are a good range of supermarkets within a short walking distance. If not travelling by car there is a good bus service less then 10 min away , and the train station is about 15 min walk.

  • "The cottage was of a very high standard ."

A lot of thought has gone into the facilities. It was very new . Loved sitting up the garden so very private . We could walk either way to Windermere one way , then Bowness the other with in 15 mins . Plenty on road parking as well as by the cottage . We had a lovely time .

  • "The property was modern, clean and warm."

I booked this property because it had a king size bed, but the bed was so hard we could not use it and had to sleep in the double bed. All the upstairs rooms all have limited ceiling height. The shower in the bathroom was tiny and the spa bath was also very small. Although the property description states parking for 2 cars this would have been impossible due to the tight turning space along the lane.

Thanks for the feedback. I think the description already states limited headroom upstairs. I have regularly parked two cars ( a Peugeot 206) and a Skoda estate for 5 years without an issue. Obviously the size of the cars has an impact on the ability to park! On street parking is very close by if you can’t get your cars in to the space provided Property Owner

  • "What a lovely little cottage, we couldn't have wished for more."

Immaculate throughout, warm and cosy and has a real homely feel to it. Its ideally located to walk to pubs & shops up the top half of Windermere, or the opposite way to Bowness if you feel up to it. Kids loved being here too. We'll definitely return, Thanks again. Harry & Michelle.

Thanks for the wonderful review- so glad you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "Great location, nice & quiet, comfy and certainly warm while we visited over the new year week."

Suitable for a couple not couples as the one built in wardrobe available is shared between both bedrooms, the other built in wardrobe is private & locked, chest of drawers & bedside tables available. Corner shower is very small & compact. If you want a large smart TV then this is not the property for you, we managed & watched what we could or listened to music. Would we return Yes and always like a property with its own private parking area.

Thanks for the nice review- just to clarify that there is a 32” smart TV and satellite system down stairs and smaller smart TV and satellite in the main bedroom. There are very limited normal TV channels in Windermere hence the Smart TV and satellite systems. You can login to your own streaming services on the TV and use the wi-fi. Property Owner
