  • "Could not find anything negative at all."

House was very tastefully decorated and finished to an exceptional standard. We met our daughter and family from Edinburgh for an autumn break and had a wonderful time. Our thanks to the owners for their wonderful taste which truly made it feel like our home from home. With best wishes from Lesley, Barry, Sue, Steve, Caitlin ,Ellen and Ross.

  • "Overall very comfortable welcoming stay."

If you cant get the induction hob started we discovered that at least one of the pans wasnt conduction compatible, so beware. Fabulous rain effect showers, again though beware if you use the bath and its on the shower setting it will run down back of bath to the floor. Blind in the living room right window not fully opening and curtains in here and dining room would add cosiness. Wood burner worked great and starter wood pack and washing pods etc great addition.

  • "Booked a last-minute 5-night stay, at Rose House and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious property within short walking distance of Windermere and Bowness on Windermere."

The standard of accommodation is exceptional and whilst we were only a party of 3 plus a dog the property is well equipped and would comfortably accommodate 8 guests as advertised. An added bonus for us was private off street parking. Will certainly be recommending Rose House to family and friends and hoping to book again for a return visit. Thank you

  • "I would have no hesitation in recommending Rose House."

The location is perfect, a pleasant easy walk between Bowness one way and Windermere the other. The house itself is one of the best laid out and decorated homes I’ve ever stayed in and I have stayed in a few. The owner has thought of everything, I couldn’t even leave a single recommendation for improvement. The pub across the road is friendly and was a nice feature as it gets somewhat busy early evening and in the sun so you hear a nice buzz if sitting out on the garden terrace but is not noisy later on or rowdy and we were there with a Euros England game on - nothing could be heard inside the house. The car charger was an added bonus as there isn’t an abundance of such facilities in this neck of the woods so was better than sitting in the Booths car park to charge (great supermarket by the way). Dog friendly too as is most of Windermere, we had no problems eating out well and going on boat trips with our pooch. We would return in a heartbeat and may even return to Windermere specifically because this house is there.

Hi Fiona, A huge thank you for such a glowing review - to take time out of your day to write such a lovely follow up review is hugely appreciated. We are thrilled your stay at Rose House was so positive- we thrive to make every guest leave with the same positive experience and will continue to commit to ensuring this. We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Take care Nicki (owner) Property Owner

  • "Everything was great, we stayed May half term last year and the property has since been renovated, beds were a lot more comfy and the property looked a lot more modern and brighter."

We only had one issue about the property, we felt that it was not the cleanest. On arrival we had to hoover as there was crumbs all over the kitchen floor as well as dog hair all over down stairs, kitchen/diner room, hallway and living room. Pots also had hair in them so all had to be washed before we could use them. Mugs also had food remnants in them. The oven was not clean either, both inside and out needed wiping and also the oven was asking for a clean cycle which we completed during our stay.

Thank - you for taking the time out to review your recent stay at Rose House. As the owners your feedback is really valuable to us so that we can continue to offer the very best stay at Rose House. We appreciate your positive comments regarding the update and enhancements that we have made to the property since taking over ownership - we absolutely love the house and are fully committed to ensuring it stays in immaculate condition. A drop in cleaning standards is never acceptable and we have addressed this with the cleaning company (whom are normally excellent and have received very positive reviews previously.) We are confident going forwards that Rose House will offer the very best standard. Thanks again for taking time to review - we really look forward to welcoming you back. Nicki (owner) Property Owner

  • "We’ve spent a lovely four nights at Rose Cottage."

It was in a fantastic location in walking distance into the high street of Windermere . Decorated to a very high standard. The beds were incredibly comfortable . The property was cleaned exceptionally well and we had all the things we needed in the property for preparing our meals, fantastic oven , I need to get one of those for our house !We enjoyed sitting outside the first night in the sunshine on the patio eating our dinner . Wonderful hot showers , washing machine and tumble drier. Very comfortable lounge. The only minor little faults we found, that didn’t effect our holiday in any way, were that the kitchen bin lid was broken so needed to be open by hand and half the toaster didn’t work. There was a coffee pod machine which would have been great to use, so maybe some pods in your lovely complimentary basket in the kitchen ? And we noticed the kitchen window had dropped with a gap which if it was chilly would create a draft . But honestly those negatives are me needing to be really picky ! The entire house was a delight to stay in and I would love to come back again ! Highly recommend for a family .

Hi, Thank you for taking time out to write a review of Rose House and the wonderful stay you have had. Fabulous to hear that you managed to enjoy the outside as well as inside the property. Also, thank you for making us aware of the faulty bin and toaster - these have both been replaced and we have had the window looked at so the property is as good as new again! We look forward to welcoming you back to Rose House soon. many thanks Nicki (owner) Property Owner
