The bed was very comfortable and shower easy to use. We were lucky with the weather and found the situation to be great for visiting places in The Lakes. We would definitely recommend and we will be booking again

  • "Too many notices on walls around cottage which removed the homely feel from it."

Intimidating to read that all breakages require to be notified to owner and they will inform you how much money to leave.... Let's face it accidents happen. Not enough cutlery or crockery, especially if 6 guests staying... We found we needed dishwasher on daily... Not environmentally friendly. Lack of drying facilities. Otherwise nice cottage in a small village in good location.

  • "Laundry Cottage was phenomenal, not only stunning to look at, but every little detail for a home away from home was thought of."

My family and I could’ve quite happily stayed here for a lot longer. The area is beautiful, and quaint and it’s location is really close to all the Lake District has to offer. Beds were super comfy. Linen and towels were also of a great quality. I couldn’t fault the Cottage & would recommend to anybody, and would be more than happy to stay there again. Thank you to Liz and Brian the owners.

  • "We had a lovely stay, even though the weather was horrific!"

As we spent a lot of time inside, we felt the house was a bit cold and found it difficult to increase the underfloor heating. We did use the fire and paid for logs and kindling as an extra. We would also have added a mat inside the front and side doors so that as you entered the property, you could wipe your feet when the weather was wet.

We would of been happy to come and help increase the heating, we only live in the village and also leave our telephone number on many item of information in the cottage, we do say we are happy to come and help at anytime. Liz the owner Property Owner

  • "Beautiful cottage in a lovely location."

The reviews were all 100% correct. Cottage was extremely clean, new and had all the appliances and nice touches you expect from a luxury accommodation. communication was fluid, we normally texted to ensure cottage was ready and any other queries. We met Liz during our holiday as needed the heating turned down, she was extremely accommodating and suggested other places to go. The cottage has underfloor heating, extremely comfy beds and linen, all the cutlery and utensils needed to cook food. We found it extremely functional for 6 of us. The bathrooms were plentiful and was decorated tastefully with clean lines and gloss. I would recommend to stayed as long as you can respect the effort put into the cottage. The expectation is that you keep the place clean and at a high standard.

  • "Stunning place."

We had a wonderful stay at Laundry Cottage, Milnthorpe. The cottage has been fitted out to a very high spec and is stunning. It was extremely clean and very well equipped for self catering. Our only problem was the garden wasn’t fully contained, we felt our dog would be able to get through the gate so we needed to always keep her on the lead outside. Brilliant communication with owner and we would definitely recommend.

  • "We have had the most perfect week stay at Laundry Cottage!"

You can tell a lot of time, thought and effort has gone into designing the cottage. Couldn't believe how big it was, very spacious and the beds are very comfy. Plenty cooking and dining equipment in the kitchen. The patio and garden is absolutely lovely too. Not far to drive at all to get into the Lakes and Milnthorpe is a gorgeous little village. A week of luxury for us and sad to have to leave! Definitely recommend, owners quick to get in touch with too :).

The property has a lovely homely feeling to it, very lovely to spend time in to relax and unwind. The location is perfect its nice and quiet but very easy to get to any of the towns around the lake district you may like to visit. Really over the moon to find somewhere of a beautiful standard and that is also dog friendly. Our little pooch loved her stay too.

About the location

Arnside 3 miles; Silverdale 6 miles; Kendal 7 miles.

Milnthorpe, once an important medieval market town, is located in the South Lakes between Kendal and Carnforth, just a few miles from the seaside village of Arnside. Reminders of the town's history can still be found today amongst the narrow lanes and historic buildings, which speak of a time when a coach and four was more common than a four-wheel drive. Set in lovely rolling countryside, the area has much to offer, with the Lakeland Wildlife Oasis offering a tropical hall and butterfly house. Dallam Tower and Levens Hall (historic and beautiful stately homes with their deer parks, topiary and ornamental gardens) provide a great day out for visitors. Leighton Hall, Sizergh Castle, the Great Lakes Aquarium, Windermere and Grizedale Forest are also all within easy reach and well worth a visit. From stunning limestone pavements and wonderful woodland walks to beaches and scenic coastal paths, there really is something for everyone.
