The property

Olive Cottage is a welcoming retreat located in the heart of Kirkby Stephen, a characterful market town in scenic Cumbria.

Ideally positioned between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District National Parks, this cottage is a perfect base for couples or small families keen to explore some of England’s most picturesque landscapes.

Inside the well-equipped kitchen/diner offers a warm space to prepare and share meals together, while upstairs, this first-floor sitting room invites you to relax beside the crackling woodburning stove on cooler evenings.

The second floor features a king-size bedroom along with a cosy single bedroom and a convenient shower room with a walk-in shower, basin, WC, and heated towel rail.

While Olive Cottage doesn’t include a garden, everything you need is right on your doorstep - from traditional pubs and local shops to footpaths leading straight into the stunning countryside.

After a day of walking or sightseeing, the king-size bedroom provides a place to rest those sleepy heads.

Outside, Kirkby Stephen is yours to explore.

Stroll through its quaint streets, browse its independent shops, or take a scenic walk to the impressive Podgill Viaduct.

Just beyond, the dramatic landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales unfold, Smardale Gill Viaduct, the windswept heights of Nine Standards Rigg, and the cascading Aysgarth Falls all await.

To the west, the Lake District offers more beauty—sail across Ullswater, visit the shores of Windermere, or spend an afternoon discovering Kendal’s history and charm.

Whether you're seeking peace or adventure, Olive Cottage is a welcoming gateway to the natural splendour of northern England.
