"We had a lovely stay at Inglenook cottage and really enjoyed the location and the peaceful surroundings, It's a fantastic base to explore the Lakes."
The welcome pack was a nice touch, although an extra loo roll or two would have been nice! The cottage has plenty of character, the rooms are all large and the steam train chugging past, giving a cheery whistle was a daily highlight. The pool table was a real hit and kept us entertained in the evenings. Inglenook could be a fantastic holiday home with a little TLC.
There are a few areas that we feel need attention. The mattress in the back bedroom is quite uncomfortable and would benefit from being replaced, as would the sofas, which are looking rather tired - there is not enough seating in the lounge area for a large group to sit comfortably together, which was disappointing. There is a musty/damp smell downstairs, which was very noticeable during our stay and would be worth investigating.
Overall, we enjoyed our break, but addressing these points would make a significant difference to the comfort and overall experience for future guests.

"As we use feedback to make our choices."
I must add feedback from our stay. The house itself is fine. Cleanliness was a major concern. Dust under the fire, kitchen sides were sticky, main upstairs bedroom smelt, cobwebs in most rooms, downstairs shower room was dirty and never dried out. The location wasn't great, most of the area is a holiday village. The hotel is the only walkable place to eat and drink, not able to welcome non guests for food on the Friday we arrived. Welcome pack was a bare minimum. There are some very easy improvements that should be made. It needs some coat hooks behind the front door. Kitchen cupboards were really full of items you never need but lacked squash type glasses, grill pan rack and pizza trays. Most of the glasses do not fit in the dishwasher. No cupboard space for our food. The tumble drier was not working correctly, drum not rotating, so it just overheated clothing. A fire hazard in my opinion. One bedroom had a hanging rail but no hangers. There's also only five seats in the living room. Pool room and football table were a bonus. It rains in the UK in August! Parking was good for two cars. Garden was secure for our dogs.

"The properties location is fantastic!"
It has all the essentials for a family of our size and the space is fab. The local facilities are great and listening/watching the steam train go by during the day was a real treat. The garden with lots of little areas was just great and the kids loved it. It was clean and tidy however a couple of tiny niggles, we found a used wet towel and there was also a wet cleaning cloth left on the sofa of the downstairs bedroom which had soaked the sofa. Other than that we had no issues and would recommend Inglenook cottage to anyone!

"We were very pleased with the cottage, and the family enjoyed their stay."
There was a problem with the shower in the main bathroom, so we all had to use the one downstairs, which was not ideal.
We had grandchildren with us and a dog, and when we were having tea on Sunday evening, we were distressed to see rats on the patio. The children were upset, and we could not leave the doors open. They would not go outside.
We left on Monday morning instead of Tuesday. We informed the housekeeper, who said she would let the owner know and that he would contact us. It put a dampener on our break away, and we were disappointed that the owner never contacted us.

"Lovely accommodation in a great location."
Only negative I can say is that the water upstairs was Luke warm at best, but the weather being as hot as it was wasn't a huge issue shower wise and we just boiled the kettle to wash up. Downstairs the water was nice and hot.
Also the accommodation didn't provide many staples, a few sachets of tea & coffee, a tiny bit of washing up liquid, a couple of toilet rolls & some milk. Luckily I had read the reviews so took extra toilet rolls, soap, cleaning stuff etc. But it would be nice if there had been a little more provided as there is no shop in the village & nothing within walking distance to buy anything.
If this was mentioned in the details when booking, it would be helpful so people are aware they need to shop before arriving.
Despite that , we had a lovely Family Holiday & I would definitely book Inglenook again, but make sure I did a shop before arriving.
The property itself was clean & tidy, lovely outside area & ample parking. Within walking distance of the steam railway which runs behind the property.
There was an added advantage that some hurricane planes & other military planes flew over a couple of times which was lovely to see.
Also the pool table was great to have & we loved the board game Linkee.
Many Thanks for a very memorable Holiday.

"For an end of summer holidays booking the property was in great nick."
The owners we quick to respond when the hot water wasn't working properly (this didn't affect our stay at all) and was fixed whilst we were out.
Plenty of fridge and freezer space and the garden was brilliant for our
2 year old and dog.
All in all great stay and would go back again
Cheers

"Excellent property all round, well equipped kitchen with everything you need, all beds were nice and comfortable and the games room kept everyone entertained for hours."
Personally I would like to see the garden cut back a little better to get the full potential out of the summerhouse which is tucked away and overgrown slightly but this doesn't affect the quality of the house overall.would definitely stay again.

"Fantastic location, excellent space inside and out."
Only thing provided was a small selection of tea and coffee sachets, salt, pepper, washing up liquid and towels. Not an issue as I brought my own, but did think there might be hand soap, so just a remind to all to bring everything you need.
Perfect for our dogs with easy to clean flooring.

"Property was situated in an ideal location , furniture and fittings were of a high standard , but the outside patio area was very unkept , I had to clean the garden chairs as they were filthy dirty ."
Inside the house was generally clean , but lacking in soap only in the kitchen area . Also for 6 people staying for 4 days only 2 toilet rolls were provided .
