  • "The property is located on the banks of a fast moving river with beautiful views."

    Use of the spa facilities which is located directly across from the cottage. Local hotel with bar and restaurant facilities. Great location for fell walking and white water rafting. Historical interest with local steam train and old iron works. Car museum with cafe. Accommodation is modern with up to date facilities. We had an excellent stay and well recommended.

  • "Beautiful location and very clean and well accommodating and with the included use of the local hotels facilities its perfect for a small family or friends retreat, so many surrounding activities, the steam train and boat ride from Haverthwaite was a fantastic experience, such amazing views, local walks and fantastic food."

    Lovely cottage sitting on the bank of the river Leven. Really nice to sit out in the evening with the sounds of the river and watching the river wildlife.   • "It was lovely stay for a week in this beautiful property."

    House is located in great location, next to a river, in the little village and surrounded with lot of local walks, motor museum, hotel and provided access to SPA facilities. Everyone can find what to do during their visit. Recommendation - to bring a torch as winter getting dark soon and there is no street lighting if you want to walk to a local pub evening time. Washing machine was very handy and would be good to list in the house description. Beds were very comfortable to sleep and towels very soft. Kitchen would need few more equipment's for cooking, but it was clean and warm property.

  • "Excellent location for exploring the lakes , and great to have off road parking."

    The cottage has everything that we needed for our stay. We lived the quality of the bath sheets , so nice to have large soft towels for our stay We didn't take advantage of the access to cascades health spa, i forgot to pack my swimming costume.

    Everything was spotless, and the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, we very quickly felt at home. Jason was so welcoming and gave us great recommendations for local Christmas markets, walks, and the spa facilities. We’ll definitely be returning!

  • "Accommodation was good for x 4 people."

    Great location for the south of The Lakes and the added bonus of the spa facilities were appreciated after a long day walking! The Kitchen could do with some additional equipment e.g. bowls or jugs that can be microwaved; a smaller frying pan; cafetière; and some mugs rather than cups. The house was very clean and presentable.

  • "We had a lovely stay at The Old Post Office Cottage."

    The location right by the river Leven is stunning. We would have loved to have taken advantage of the garden but the weather was so poor all week we were restricted to the indoors. The cottage has been beautifully modernised by the owner who lives next door with his family. I should point out that part of the owners accommodation exists separately above the rental property and it was a little disconcerting the first night to hear some bumps and bangs which we weren’t expecting and not informed about but it wouldn’t put us off returning again. If I could make one addition to the property it would be for a toilet downstairs. There are two double bedrooms, one downstairs and one upstairs and the only facility is a bathroom and shower upstairs! All in all, a lovely cottage in a top location.

  • "Location- it’s quite secluded- there is very little in walking distance so you need to drive places, but lots of good places within 20 minute drive."

    And having the hotel/ spa so close is great- nice to be able to have an evening drink/use gym and swimming pool. Lovely being next to river. Cottage- it’s nice enough, but feel like it could use some finishing touches- in the bathroom there’s no mirror above the sink which makes shaving awkward, no mirror in upstairs bedroom, upstairs bedroom could use a rug and additional clothes storage like a chest of drawers, kitchen could do with some more mugs and cutlery, the gate could be adjusted so the backyard area is enclosed for dogs (currently a gap at bottom). The way the property has been split is slightly odd- you can hear people walking around above you in the lounge, like you’re in a flat. But like I say overall it’s nice enough and delivers the essentials- nice kitchen, good shower, comfy bedding and towels, good welcome pack etc.

  • "The property was fantastic in a beautiful location, has majority of the facilities the minor detail was no microwave but not a big issue."

    The property was clean and beautiful well maintained. Their was no issues at all had access to the gym equipment, swimming pool for free, however never got the time to use it as was sightseeing alot. Would definitely recommend staying hear and hopefully will be back soon.
