Curdle Dub

We really enjoyed our stay at Curdle Dub.

The property was very well located for walks and water activities while being in a quiet location. The facilities at the property were great, and simple things like a modern television and good wi-fi (important for an 11 year old to stay in contact with friends while away…) were greatly appreciated and added to the overall stay. Sounds simple, but so often overlooked. Would come back in a heartbeat, and miss the area already. Thank you.

This was our second visit to Curdle Dub and it won’t be our last!

The house is a delight with it’s interesting lack of right angles and flat surfaces yet so comfortable and well equipped including its superb library which almost had us hoping for rain. And not forgetting the view!!!

Excellent bed and shower in a great position. As a 6'5" bloke, I struggled with the beams but I knew this was an issue when we booked, it's not the fault of this (or other Cumbrian) cottage (s).

We had a great week in Coniston and the weather was fantastic.

The cottage is very ‘quirky’ with its split levels and only added to a great experience. Very quiet location, superb views from the bedroom window when waking up and lots of walks from the doorstep. The cottage is well maintained, has everything you need and for the price it’s certainly value for money.

Arrived at the cottage on Saturday evening to find the house filthy it looked liked it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks carpet not hoovered sticky floor tiles cutlery tray with food crumbs inside wooden spatulas old and stained paint falling off the walls stained duvet crumbs on the sofa cobwebs and dust everywhere not what you want to see when I’ve paid nearly £700 and a 5 hour drive to which we nearly put everything back in the car and drove home called Sykes cottages straight away they promised they will try and sort it 3 days later they came gave it a spring clean after waiting in for them ruined my holiday never again

We have stayed at Curdle Dub 6 or 7 times since December 2003, pre-children, and have always looked forward to returning whenever we are able ever since.

Beautiful little cottage close to all the village amenities and several lovely walks start right from the front door.

Curdle Dub was a wonderful place to stay.

The cottage was charming, well maintained and equipped. An older property with lots of character but modernised inside to ensure a comfortable stay. Beautifully situated at the foot of the mountain. Thank you for a wonderful holiday!

Curdle Dub is a beautiful Lakeland cottage, we have stayed at the cottage for the past 8 years, it is always immaculate inside and out, and has all you could wish for

The cottage is in a great position for shops and walks from the doorstep.

The cottage was very comfortable and we had views all around , will be booking up next year.

Beautiful walks on a doorstep. Public transport to further away locations just a minute away. We didn’t move the car for the whole week!

All very cosy but beds could have been better. Kitchen well equipped but sad there wasn't a coffee maker (even a cafetiere would be nice!).

Beautiful little cottage with all the facilities needed for a lovely holiday in The Lakes. Convenient for village, walks from the cottage and buses.

Such a beautiful little cottage, very cute with lots of period features, nooks and crannies and we loved the coziness of the log burner at night.

The beds were super comfy and we had everything we needed for the perfect stay. We was also left a small laundry box from lake lovers that contained a dishcloth, scrubber, dishwasher tabs and a black bag. Car definitely needed to get around and we will be back to enjoy the Lakes one again. Thank you.

The only niggle was the TV,not sure if it signal problem or a wiring fault but couldn't watch TV very poor signal.

Other than that all was fine.

Really lovely holiday cottage that was very well equipped and very thoughtful.

The location was perfect as it felt remote but just a 10 minute walk to Coniston and trail accessible behind the home. Would highly recommend for a relaxing holiday away from the bustle of Ambleside and Windermere.
