  • "We had a family break for 2 nights, eleven of us, three generations."

    The accommodation was super, everyone loved having their own bathroom attached to their bedroom. We loved the open plan feel. The dining area is great and the seating area exceptionally comfy. The staff could not have been more helpful. They let us get on with our break but made sure that we knew they were on hand if we needed anything. Parking is good. We would definitely think about returning.

  • "Exceptional accommodation, we had the best family Christmas here together we could have had after a tough year."

    The standard and attention to detail exceptional, so much space and everyone had there own private room and bathroom. Well equipped which allowed us to enjoy a lovely Christmas Dinner and so relaxing!!! Local bars, restaurants and shops all within a short stroll and found the friendliness of everyone really refreshing. (special shout out to Karl at The Crafty Dog who made everyone so welcome) Contact with the owner was easy and very helpful, overall a real gem and so pleased we found 'The Alhambra' Highly recommended and somewhere we will definitely revisit.

  • "An amazing property with the most wonderful and thoughtful hosts."

    Everything about it was perfect! All the facilities were there to make it a comfortable home away from home suitable for a big group. We all had our own space but equally the communal spaces worked well. Would highly recommend! Considering how close it is to town it was so quiet!

  • "The accommodation met the needs of our group of four couples perfectly."

    The property was warm, very clean and beautifully presented. The hosts were incredibly welcoming. Whilst we had no problems during our stay I had the sense that the owners would have rectified any issues immediately. The location was perfect, being on a quiet street, yet close to the town centre with the added bonus of sufficient parking for us all. Being within easy walking distance of the train station meant our trip to Liverpool was stress free too.

  • "This property is finished to a high standard and has everything we needed for a weekend catch up with friends."

    Every bedroom has its own shower room (with 4 of the 5 bedrooms being ensuite). The communal areas have plenty of space for cooking, dining and relaxing. The property is just a few minutes walk from Sainsburys, and lots of bars and restaurants. The pier and beach are very close by and easy to get to on foot. It's a great location. There was a little confusion about key collection but the owner was able to clarify for us. There was a good welcome pack and nice touches like shower gel provided, and plenty of loo roll. We all had a great time. Thank you!

  • "Had an absolutely lovely stay with the family for a birthday celebration!"

    ! The interior was decorated to such a high standard and the house was lovely, clean and spacious. It was everything we could have asked for. Walking distance to the promenade for the children to play and a generous living room to sit and play games in the evening. The bonus was every family having a bathroom each. The owner was extremely accommodating, went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. Definitely recommend booking.

SOUTHPORT

Ainsdale 4 miles; Ormskirk 8 miles; Formby 8.5 miles.

Southport, along with its neighbour Ainsdale, lies on the coastline where the Irish Sea meets North West England. The town was founded in 1792 when an innkeeper, William Sutton, built a bathing house at what is now the south end of Lord Street, the main road running through the town. The town was small and not very widely populated until the turn of the 19th century when it became popular with tourists due to the easy access it provided to Leeds and Liverpool Canal. It quickly expanded and now boasts the second longest pleasure pier in the British Isles, the Southport Pier Tramway, and Lord Street, an elegant, tree-lined shopping destination. From Birkdale to Woodvale, sand dunes stretch along the coastline, and in Ainsdale in particular, the dunes have now been listed as a National Nature Reserve and a designated Ramsar site. The coastline stretches for 22 miles, with plenty of beaches to be discovered, making this classic seaside resort the perfect place to relax and unwind. There are scenic parks and gardens to explore, fabulous shopping opportunities, and exciting nightlife, as well as a mouth-watering array of restaurants and traditional seaside amusements. Stroll down the UK’s oldest iron pier and try the old penny slot machines in the Pavilion, or ride traditional carousels at Silcock’s Funland. Family attractions include Splash World, Martin Mere, and Farmer Ted’s, while The Atkinson, an £18 million arts venue, is set in a Grade II listed building hosting a variety of visual and performing arts events. Southport’s extensive events programme includes the World Musical Fireworks Championships, the Southport Food and Drink Festival, Southport Air Show, Southport Flower Show, and the Southport Jazz Festival. It is part of England’s Golf Coast and is home to seven championship courses, including Royal Birkdale, which hosts The Open Championship in 2026. Founded by Ex-Racing champion Brian Radam, don't forget to visit the popular British Lawnmower Museum, where garden lovers can geek out on the history of lawnmowers, or enjoy a family day out at Southport Model Railway Village.
