“We booked this cottage thinking that each bedroom had an en-suite bathroom as the listing was ambiguous.”

We were a family of eight adults and two teenagers going to a wedding and associated pre-celebrations, so this mean't we had to have a "rota" on the day of the wedding and the day before it, for the use of the two shower rooms and one bathroom (the hot water to the bath was very slow running, putting more time on the rota allocations). The stairs to the first floor were very steep and would be challenging for older guests and anyone with a lot of heavy suitcases, as we had. The dishwasher played up the first night and locked itself out of service for the remaining nights. On the plus side the hot-tub was brilliant, the conservatory was warm, as was the tub. The in-house bar was a real hit and we spent a couple of wonderful evenings around it. The beds were very comfy and the whole family liked the decor, although there are no wardrobes, but hangers and hooks. The area is very scenic and the cottage is well placed for the Yorkshire Dales and even onto the Lake District. The house is on the main-road and the two couples in the front bedrooms did hear traffic throughout the night. The host, Peter was very accommodating when we turned up early and he popped in to see if everything was fine on the third evening. Being the run up to Easter, it would have been difficult to get the dishwasher fixed and by that time we had already had to hand wash the pots and pans for the meals we ate in. Overall I would say it was not good value for money for the four nights we spent at the run up to Easter premium rates.
