Alison, the owner was very obliging, and supplied a very generous welcoming basket of goodies. Our only reservations as an elderly couple was that the stairs were quite steep, and vehicle access difficult. A lovely, cosy cottage.

Just missing the ice for a G & T sitting outside in the sunshine. Fortunately the very large and very cold fridge had loads of room so bottles went in fridge easily. Both bed and settee too soft if you have a bad back but otherwise brilliant.

Alison, the owner friendly and helpful and I could see the trouble taken to make the cottage homely and tasteful. The hamper left for me was a lovely surprise and made me feel very welcome, it was much appreciated. A Co-op supermarket nearby had all the provisions needed. Peaceful location and well-situated for walking in the North Pennines. Although parking not readily available at the cottage it was easy to park on the main road.
