  • "The property is ideal for couples, our only issue was that we could hear the people next door and below us as the walls aren't very thick - we would have loved to re-book again for next year but the price was too high as the cost had risen by over a £100 for the same time of year."

  • "Property was advertised with a swimming pool."

    My wife is pregnant and we were intending to make use of this. The pool was closed and looked like it had been for a while (I may be wrong), we did not receive any prior notification before arrival that this was the case, would have gone elsewhere. The apartment itself was all good, clean, tidy and really well equipped so a lovely place to stay.

  • "An excellent apartment with first class facilities, very comfortable and super quiet!"

    Slight issue with the drying part of the washing machine/dryer. After the 1 hour drying cycle my walking gear was still soaking wet so had to hang dry. Machine probably needs replacing for a newer model. Everything else perfect!

  • "Lovely cozy property, set in the beautiful Neaum Crag Estate at the foot of Loughrigg Fell."

    Close to Ambleside and Coniston, plenty of walks from the door or only a short drive away. The property was warm, well furnished with a comfortable bed. Would definitely go back, a real home from home

    Spotlessly clean .lovely fluffy bath towels .comfy bed but did creek every time you turned over , luckily there was no one down below .plenty of information provided about the area and maps in the drawers .

  • "We arrived on the Friday all good, Due to the recent storm all the power and water went off at approximately 9."

    00am saturday morning so we had no heating, cooker or water. We stayed thinking the power would be restored fairly soon. Just went out walking and ate out. By sunday still no power, went to the heart of the lakes office in amblesdide nobody there. No phones of any sort working. Went back on monday they couldnt help us but passed details on to sykes office. Couldnt get any joy so gave up monday afternoon and went home, it was to cold in fir howe only place to keep warm was in bed. I was dissappointed that nobody even came round to check the property or on us. You have not contacted me since to offer any compensation. All said very poor service. After a day of walking the local peaks and fells, enter this romantic dwelling into the open-plan living space, finding a spot on the plush sofas, with a TV with Freesat to entertain and an electric flame-effect stove adding a subtle warmth to the room.

Make yourself at home in the well-equipped kitchen, enhanced with slate worktops and an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and a dishwasher among the appliances, with a lovely oak dining table for two; you can delight in the company of each other whilst tucking into a delicious home-cooked meal.

Stroll along the water’s edge onboard one of the fabulous Windermere steamers, offering passengers a relaxing cruise across England’s largest lake.

AMBLESIDE

Grasmere 4.4 miles; Windermere 4.7 miles; Keswick 16.7 miles.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
