  • "We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful property."

It was spotlessly clean, well equipped, comfortable, spacious and we enjoyed the most gorgeous garden. Close to lake Windermere. Great information provided by owner of where to go and what to see and do. A fabulous holiday.

  • "Lovely large property for 3 couples."

Loads to do in the immediate area. Great walking from the door. It would have helped if the kitchen was less cluttered, providing more surfaces to work on. Also a nest of tables in the living room would be helpful. So marked down slightly for these. But we all had a great time.

Set in a lovely large gardens with some views over the lake and parking for several cars. It is in a very quiet location yet only 10 minutes walk from Windermere, so very convenient. We loved it and would highly recommend to anyone who wants a comfortable, stress free holiday.

The Location, The views The property is well presented and has everthing is there at your holiday accomodation to enjoy that home from home experience. We didn't have a car but it in walking distance to Windermere one of our party wasn't great walking and she found it easy but it is also near to a bus stop to explore surrounding areas and the bus service very reliable. This accomodation is excellent and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

  • "We had a lovely stay at The Grange."

We arranged the break for my mum and dad as they never get away and dad has an illness, and they enjoyed it very much. The house is lovely, clean and comfortable and the location was great. The owners which we met on arrival were also lovely and helpful. We have a 20 month old daughter and she loved having the space to run around and playing ball in the garden. The games room in the basement needs updating, the table is too old/worn to be played on, but we didn't book the house for that purpose so wasn't a problem for us. Would highly recommend a stay here! Fantastic space with lovely views.

We took our five children ranging from 15-24 and games room was definitely a hit. The location was amazing and we enjoyed the ten minute walk down to the lake for a dip most days making most of the weather. Also the walk to Orrest Head from the house was beautiful. The house had everything we needed and it was clean and comfortable. The grounds were beautiful and despite being being shared there is plenty to go around. In short-lovely house (especially for families with older children), wonderful location!!

  • "Love this property ."

This was our second stay. Everything we could think of was provided . The garden is delightful. My grandson loved rolling down the slope but i missed the wild flowers that adorned the top of the slope last year. The property is close enough to walk into Windermere and to Booths supermarket. Only one slight negative for me was the bed in the large (beautiful) bedroom on the first floor which I found to be a bit hard and uncomfortable but that could be down to personal taste . The views from the window and the attic room window are stunning. Enjoyed our stay immensely

The proportions of the house were just right making it a really comfortable stay. For us the bed was too hard, but that is a matter of preference. Kitchen was well equipped, and we had great fun in the games room.

  • "The Grange is a stunning property that was perfectly located and suited to the needs of our two families."

The top floor was a haven for the three teenagers and they loved the games room too (along with the Dad's). We had everything we needed to cook meals in and there was lots to choose from for meals out (Windermere - 5/10 min walk & Bowness 25 min walk). Thankfully the weather was kind and we enjoyed lots of walks nearby with stunning scenery and a 2hr boat hire on the lake was well worth it. The Dad's managed a couple of games of golf too. We did have a some issues with the wifi (and connected heating), but this was quickly fixed by Lakelovers maintenance or by speaking direct to the owner. The only other feedback is that our friends who slept in the large/master bedroom, found the mattress/bed very soft and sagging in the middle. This did cause some sleepless nights and sore backs. Whilst we appreciate that everyone has different preferences to mattress firmness, this did seem unusually soft. That apart, we would definitely come back and stay again the next time we visit this stunning part of the country.

  • "Our booking was for Bottletops but that was double booked."

Your handling of the situation was appalling. I was travelling with my very elderly parents, their first outing in 18 months. We had travelled 6 hours from Essex and if Customer Care had dealt with the situation we would have been turned away with nowhere to stay, with a refund - when in fact you had an empty property down the road which Customer Care did not offer because it was larger than what we had booked. I really don’t know what we would have done if, in the end, Steve had not taken matters into his own hands.

  • "Location was convenient."

Lack of outside dining facilities. Can't believe that you have a company policy of only providing one toilet roll per bathroom. Very disappointing when you are charging for a high end property and no indication is given on your list of things to bring. Knives were incredibly blunt and almost useless. The listing should be clear that the views of Windermere are only from the two back bedrooms.

From inside the house, the sunny patio and lovely gardens, guests will wonder at the breath-taking views over Lake Windermere to the hills and mountains beyond.

A view to make the heart sing.

The entrance hall, with stained glass windows and imposing guilt mirror, doubles as an elegant dining room in which to share more formal dinners and chat late into the night.

Moving through to the spacious sitting room, or drawing room as it might have been, the fabulous bay window perfectly frames the spectacular views.

Splendidly comfortable sofas are positioned around the original feature fireplace and wood burning stove, over which a further picture windows looking out onto the grounds.

With plenty of space in which to spread out, guests will find this a wonderful space in which to relax at any time of day.

The breakfast kitchen has its own wood burning stove and a sturdy farmhouse table, perfect for enjoying brunch, coffee and the papers.

The house cellar is home to an ever popular games room with pool table, air hockey and DVD player.

The Grange really does have it all. Upstairs to the first floor and two of the three lovely bedrooms.

The master suite comes with king size bed, French Antique furniture and en-suite shower.

A further king size is extremely charming and also comes with an en-suite bathroom.

Finally, up to ‘The Loft Suite’.

The staircase divides this room into two distinct areas, one with a double bed and one with single and en-suite shower.

This room has some of the best views in the house as well as its own perfect bathroom.

What a treat this suite is!
