  • "The cottage was very clean and comfortable."

Well equipped kitchen and toiletries provided, which was more than what we expected. It was a short walk to the centre of Windermere and the lake. 40 minutes walk to the centre of Bowness. Altogether a lovely cottage to relax in with plenty of space for the whole family.

  • "Beautiful, spacious, homely, well equipped and comfortable bungalow with a log burning fire (which we did not use as the gas central heating was good enough to heat the house)."

3 showers, a bath, 4 toilets and a washer and dryer, perfect for a family of 5. Close to all shops, the train station, visitors centre and perfect for local walks;Orrest head nearby is an easy walk and can go further once at the top, this was recommended by the owner. Would also recommend Golden Mountain Chinese restaurant and The Little Chippy Takeaway just a short walk away from The Grange.

A great location to stay , just a short walk in to Windermere. The house was clean and so well equipped with everything you will need and more. The beds were very comfy. The garden space is great, shame we couldn’t use it more due to the weather. The shower room downstairs was excellent. Overall a gorgeous house. Will 100% be returning in the future . Thank you

  • "Grange Lodge was very much a 'home from home'."

The house is close to Windermere village but was a lovely tranquil oasis from the busy village itself. We had amazing weather during our stay so the garden really came into its own in the evenings, once we'd returned from our day's adventures with great seating and wonderful seclusion, only shared by one property next door. The kitchen is very well equipped for self catering but there is also a plethora of cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance if you prefer to eat out. The lounge has large windows to one side with spectacular views across the garden to the hills beyond. The house is, obviously, well loved with good quality mattresses, quality furniture and more than sufficient space for 6 adults. There are two shower rooms and on bathroom plus a separate loo so plenty of facilities. For the price charged, we felt this was an excellent value stay in a great location within an easy drive of many beauty spots. We will definitely come again.

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide your feedback. We are really glad that you had a wonderful time and look forward to welcoming you in the future. Lakelovers Owner Relations Property Owner

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at the Grange Lodge."

Everything was of the highest quality, with comfortable beds and excellent showers, which make such a difference to a holiday! We would definitely recommend the house to others, and will probably book here again. The only (very tiny) niggle was the lack of oven gloves. It is also worth noting that the house is far enough away from both main roads, that there is no road noise, so it is very peaceful, whilst being easy walking distance to Windermere village.

  • "Having spent a very comfortable and memorable few days in the Lodge, I would thoroughly recommend the property in Windermere for its convenience to the town and facilities."

It enjoys the combination of being very tranquil but close to good food shops, rail and bus networks and main roads for you to explore the Lake District. The Lodge is very well presented and is impeccably clean. An excellent property for families and friends alike.

  • "I would not recommend this property in fact I would advise people to steer clear."

There are some positives in its location and size and a good level of kitchen equipment. Plus when the hot water tap on the en-suite sink did not work someone did come out to fix it. However, I had several issues which mean that I could not recommend this place to future guests. 1) Cleanliness- we had to reclean certain areas upon arrival. There was food still on the dining room table which was visible on entry. debris under the coffee table in the sitting room, cobwebs in the bedroom and a dead wasp on the bathroom windowsill. Further insult is that we had t o check-in late and depart early in order to allow for thorough cleaning. 2) the downstairs shower is not fit for purpose. It does not drain properly even when using as little water as possible. Therefore its should not be marketed as a house with 3 showers as we could not use this. 3) The Heating. This is controlled by the owners and whilst you can adjust the thermostat (only to a certain point) sometimes you don't even get an hour of the heating at the temperature you desire. This is particularly problematic for the rooms downstairs which were never warm because the heating is set so low they never had a chance to warm up. The thermostat is controlled by a pin number to adjust which is not shared with guests. We paid £2000 to rent this property and we couldn't even heat it how we needed. The heating, the misrepresentation of the usable shower and the lack of interest in providing a clean property show a terrible disrespect for customers and that is why I wouldn't stay there again or recommend it to anyone.

We would like to thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear about the maintenance and cleanliness issues you faced. Lakelovers manage this property, so it is our mission to make sure the property is at it’s best, we apologise that on this occasion this was not the case. All these comments have been forwarded on to our Managed Services director who will be investigating. We really hope to welcome you back to The Grange Lodge now these problems have been rectified. • "Grange Lodge was very nice but it needs a clothes line as the tumble dryer doesn’t dry clothes too well."

There is not enough seating in the living room to seat 6 adults comfortably but there is space for more comfy seating to be provided. Bed mattresses are very soft which are not my preference but were loved by others in my family. It was generally very clean and comfortable and we had a very enjoyable week. We were even able to charge our hybrid car by passing the charging cable through the main bedroom window to the drive outside, which was very handy.

  • "Grange Lodge was perfect for our family holiday."

It is in a great location, near shops, bars and restaurants but also quiet with a beautiful garden and a short walk from the lake and all the available activities there. It is accessible and easy to get to all the walks and climbs in the Lakes from the lodge. The Lodge itself is one of the best self catering accommodations that we've stayed in, every possible piece of kitchen equipment was provided, lots of plates, glasses, utensils etc. with some nice touches such as the Bath House soap and hand lotions, the welcome coffee/tea basket and books, games and magazines. We were lucky that the weather was good enough for us to sit outside in the garden, even managing a barbecue one evening. We will definitely return to stay at Grange Lodge again.
