“Property is exactly as per description.”

Stayed with our 2 young grandkids who the owners allowed to go into barns to see the newly born calves and the farm tractor. Very nice touch from the owners.

The property

A charming, stone-built, semi-detached cottage on the owner’s working farm in the rural hamlet of Milton, two miles from the Cumbrian market town of Brampton.

This Milton cottage has been thoughtfully converted from former farm buildings to create a tasteful, holiday cottage retreat.

The open plan living accommodation at this Milton cottage is light and airy with floor-to-ceiling windows on the front and side elevations, and a French door giving access to a charming patio and lawned area, both in a perfect position for catching the sun and relaxing.

On chillier nights, stoke up the woodburner, curl up and watch the stars from the windows whilst those who enjoy the cooking can rustle up a tasty treat in the kitchen behind.

This Milton cottage is ideal for a small family or a couple, with a double bedroom with en-suite shower room and a twin with family bathroom, which has a bath with a shower over.

This Milton cottage is perfectly positioned for visiting the Scottish Borders, Northern Lakes and Pennines and the magnificent, historic Hadrian's Wall.

This lovely Milton cottage is set in the perfect rural location for your Cumbrian break.

About the location

MILTON

Brampton 2 miles; Hadrian's Wall 7 miles; Carlisle 11 miles.

The small rural village of Milton is ideally placed for exploring northern Cumbria, including not-to-be-missed Hadrian's Wall, the lovely coastline of the Solway Firth and the dramatic northern Lake District National Park. The nearby market town of Brampton has a rich and colourful history going back to the Roman occupation, Border raiders from Scotland and the Jacobite uprisings. Bonnie Prince Charlie established his headquarters in one of the old buildings in Brampton, which is now a shop. A few miles outside Brampton is Talkin Tarn Country Park. It covers 180 acres, 65 of which make up the Tarn, a 10,000 year old glacial lake, fed by underwater springs. Further south is Gelt Woods which is an ancient woodland with the River Gelt running through. A superb base for exploring this historic and scenically beautiful area.
