Rosegarth Cottage

The owner was very welcoming on arrival and when we had an issue with a frying pan, offered to swap it out.

The property is very well laid out and the bed looks new and was very comfortable, the sofa and armchair in the lounge could do with being replaced as the sitting pads where practically non-existent and had to use cushions to sit on as it wasn't very comfortable. The bathroom is also looking very tired and the water pressure in the shower wasn't great, although there was plenty of hot water. There was a strong smell of dog and dampness in the property when we arrived to the extent that we went and bought some air fresheners.

The property was really nice but the only outside space was a communal courtyard which was open to the road.

This wasn’t made clear in the listing and wasn’t convenient for my dog as he couldn’t go outside whenever he wanted. Apart from that it was a very peaceful stay and the property is well placed for access to everything including country walks.

We have a really lovely time, the cottage was lovely, the owners were wonderful, will definitely stay there again

All and more of the required utilities. Only fault is the weak WiFi connection which is only minor and shower could have had more power.

The only thing I'd change is brighter lighting in the main room to help with reading when not near to the window

Very dim living room with poorly placed lighting.

All the lighting was very dim as well. Whole of the living area smelled of oil from the central heating boiler in the kitchen. Shower was very poor. No pressure.

Was a lovely clean house, very comfortable, the owner was lovely and available if needed.

Lovely walks. You need to drive to local pubs etc but that was only a short drive and it is in the write up. Very nice place and would definatly go again.

Phone can ONLY be used across the road, not in the cottage.

Limited internet available. Weather was perfect for the whole week. Is a surcharge payable ? The owner was always around to talk and listen to any needs, information or even a hammer. A car is needed for the area = narrow roads made for walkers?

lovely cottage ,just what we wanted in a great area for houses, gardens castles etc so much to do and we had a great day out on the Solway coast seeing the last stretch of the line of Hadrians wall ( recommend the Garrison Bistro].

We had a lovely holiday.

..just the break we needed. The bed was comfortable, everywhere was clean and the owner was very friendly. The kitchen had a freezer as well as a fridge, which was useful, because with being under Covid restrictions, we took a lot of food with us, so we had plenty of storage. The only reason I have given 9 out of 10 is because the electric lighting is very dim, but otherwise, everything was fine.

Owners were very helpfull and friendly. The strickland arms in greater strickland is an excellent meal and very welcoming.
