  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Springarth."

It is a cosy, homely cottage with great facilities. The owner was very helpful, welcoming and accommodating. The only problem we had was with signal and Wi-fi, but otherwise, everything else was more than satisfactory and we would be happy to return again.

  • "In a lovely location."

Only issue is the shower over the bath in the on suite developed a leak into the living room as the tiles hadn't been properly grouted. We did report this so hopefully it has been fixed.

  • "Lovely accommodation and the owners could not have been nicer."

Very well equipped kitchen and all the amenities we could have wanted throughout. All in all a very relaxing break in a lovely setting. Thank you.

  • "We very much liked the house."

We went with two families with one child each and the room arrangements worked very well for us. Nice lounge to spend time in the evening; large dining table in the dining area; spacious and well equipped kitchen (the only thing we would suggest here would be a caffetiere or coffee filter machine). Excellent and convenient location, very quiet, and very kind and caring hosts who stopped by twice to check that everything was fine (they helped us to reset the Wifi, located in another cottage, when we needed it).

  • "After nearly four months in enforced lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic we were looking for a quiet retreat with a change to our daily surroundings."

With this cottage at Newby we found just what we were looking for. Penrith was a short distance away for our shopping and Pooley Bridge and Ullswater nearby. The village itself gave us what we wanted most, peace and quiet, our little escape to the country for seven days.
