  • "Absolutely loved our stay at Fern Bank."

The house is beautiful and the attention to detail is outstanding. Can’t fault anything about it. Hopefully we shall return one day.

  • "Very clean, comfortable property."

Decor very tasteful. Plenty of space for a large group. The housekeeper Adam went above and beyond for us. Garden well maintained and pleasant space. A bit of milk as others have said would be useful, especially after a really long journey. As a suggestion, perhaps a hot tub in the garden would be nice

Many thanks for your feedback Amy. I’m glad to hear Adam and his team did a wonderful job. I’m very lucky to have him take care of my property :) I hope you had a wonderful stay and hope to welcome you back sometime soon. Property Owner

  • "A lovely property with great facilities."

Nice part of Penrith and a good walk into town. Close to great countryside. Would have been useful to have had some milk in the fridge when we arrived.

Thank you for your kind feedback. We are pleased to see that you had a lovely stay at Fern Bank. Let me see what I can do about the milk suggestion as another guest has also raised it, and it’s important to me that people have a wonderful stay. So all suggestions welcome and taken onboard :) Property Owner

  • "Absolutely amazing property."

I loved everything about it,the size, the decor and above all relaxation which was what I needed as I was moving house in the NY so it was a blessing. Attention to detail and every comfort you could wish for was in this house. I cannot recommend it enough and look forward to booking it again in the future.

I’m really thrilled you enjoyed your stay! Hope the house move goes well! Property Owner

  • "Fern Bank is absolutely gorgeous!"

We stayed mid November as a group of 8. The house is immaculate, beautifully decorated and furnished! The owners have thought of everything - built in speakers in the kitchen and bedroom, lovely crockery and the boot room for muddy shoes - all the little details! The living room is cosy, we made use of the open fire on all three nights. All 4 bedrooms were large with big en-suite bathrooms, all spotlessly clean on arrival. Full equipped for a weekend in the lakes - 5* property. We can’t wait to return next year.

  • "Great house beautifully put together."

Amazing entertaining area which was great for the private chef we hired. It is documented that there is a steam room but we were pleasantly surprised by that so for us an extra bonus. The bedrooms are incredible. Me and my husband stayed in the zip link twin/double and it was so spacious. The house is well heated so much so the log burner didn’t need to go on. Each room having its own bathroom was an absolute luxury and the details were wonderful from the Denby kitchenware to the treats on arrival. It’s a great location and we will definitely be back again.

Thank you for your lovely kind review. I’m so glad you enjoyed the treats on arrival and liked the property. The kitchen is my favorite part so I’m glad you enjoyed it with a private chef - what a fabulous idea! We hope to welcome you back! Property Owner

Very comfortable, well equipped with all you need for short or long stays. The steam room is a great feature for extra relaxation and recovery after those long walks. The house is very clean, well appointed and extremely spacious.

  • "The house was generally very clean except a few hairs here and there and also popcorn and Pringles were left under the coffee table in the kitchen lounge area."

Some of the door handles were very stiff, my children required help opening some of the bathroom doors. The house wasn’t as “rural” as the pictures suggested; it was part of a housing estate. The house itself was amazing, kitchen had everything you could think of. It was very plush and finished to a very high standard. Would definitely stay again.

Hi thanks for your feedback. Your family were some of my first bookings so I’m really grateful for your review. I’m glad you liked the house and the kitchen, it was a renovation of love and seemed to take forever! On the other points you mention I’ll take them on board/ rectify them. The property isn’t 100 per cent rural but it is an a lovely market town and in a conservation area at the top end of Penrith. Property Owner

  • "My children and I stayed at the house a couple of times over the summer holidays and we would definitely stay again."

The house was decorated and furnished to a very high standard. There was plenty of space for everyone, including a lovely big living kitchen/dining area as well as two other separate living rooms. The kitchen had everything we needed and the bedrooms were very roomy. The bathrooms were all very luxurious, with special mention for the en-suite to the master bedroom including its amazing giant bath and lovely steam room. There was good outside space to enjoy the weather and the kids enjoyed playing in the garden while the adults relaxed with a glass of wine. The location was excellent – nice and peaceful=but within walking distance of the little town centre (although the return walk was harder as the house is located at the top of a bank). The town centre itself has lots of little restaurants, bars, shops and supermarkets (including an M&S food). There was also a little park a short walk away with lovely views over the hills, which the children enjoyed. There are plenty of tourist attractions within a reasonable drive too, including Lowther Castle (which is also recommended) and Ullswater lake. All in all, I’d recommend this to others and already looking at dates for our next trip

Thank you for you kind words and we look forward to seeing you again soon. Property Owner
