Excellent cottage !

We would definitely stay again. We stayed for a week and there was plenty to do around the area within half an hour drive. Perfect if you want to chill aswell. Only slight negative was the 10am checkout considering you need to strip the bedding when check in is also at 4pm. 11am would make a more relaxing last morning.

Very pleased to return this lovely accommodation. So clean, comfortable, and well equipped. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Extremely clean and comfortable.

A couple of minor issues - more property management. 1) directions need updating, signage off the road has changed (also route in is very narrow - better lanes available), 2) grass was very long when we arrived. We emailed Lakelovers but no response, and 3) kitchen was very well equipped but washing up bowl and chopping boards were well worn and could do with replacing.

From the moment we arrived at Ada’s Hideaway Cottage, we knew we’d found something truly special.

very well decorated throughout to a very high standard.the cottage is on a farm so you get to see horses out of your living room window .would not hesitate to book this amazing cottage again highly recommended

Ada's hideaway is a really special place, it's so peaceful, the whole place is amazing, clean everything you could need, very clean too, I could quite easily have lived there.

Our dog's Risie and daisy loved it too, very safe little garden for them, I would have no hesitation in booking again, I am hoping to book for next year. The beds were very comfy too. I would give 10 stars if I could, the only thing I would say would be useful is a Sweeping brush and mop and bucket, couldn't find one anywhere, and maybe a welcome pack but loved the place and would still return. We loved our stay at Ada's Hideaway.

The property was extremely clean upon arrival and all the facilities such as washing machine, fridge, smart TVs, waterfall shower were all top of the range and in perfect condition. The location was great to explore Kendal, all around Windermere, Arnside and Silverdale all within 30 minute drive. Sainsburys was 20 minutes away. The garden was perfect for our 2 dogs, lovely lighting, well kept grass, and secure. Very peaceful location on the farm with lots of horses. Everything in the kitchen was completely clean. Plenty of hot water for everyone. Good heating. Great quality beds and bedding. Very nice log burner which we enjoyed. Only negative is that we were only left a couple of logs and no firelighters or kindling which we thought would be included with some more logs. And note that due to bedrooms being on ground floor you can hear people above you walking around quite loud if you are trying to sleep. But overall it was one of the best properties we've stayed in, highly recommend!

property was everything we were looking for it had everything we needed nice quite location but not too far away from Kendal and the walks along the canal with our dog was lovely.

we went out and explored the lake district and did quite a few walks around them also. Would have been nice to have a better welcome pack but apart from that we would come back again

We loved Ada’s Hideaway, it’s the perfect home away from home.

Lovely quiet location but close enough to Kendal for shopping/ provisions and 25 mins to Bowness-on-Windermere. Good sized enclosed garden worked perfectly for our cavalier and the stair gate was put to use in keeping her away from the downstairs bedrooms. Facilities were great, a well stocked kitchen, good utility room. We were a party of 2 so plenty of space. Decor everywhere is tastefully done, bathrooms felt new & clean, with great showers, but the highlight was the large zip & link bed in the master. Spacious and comfortable, the bed linen and bedding were the best - with a special shout out to the pillows!! These and many other details make such a difference but are often overlooked. It was perfect thank you!!

Excellent property, and very well presented.

This property has been been converted to a very high standard. Its comfortable and well equipped. Location is great, very peaceful with great access to the canal for walking or cycling. Access to the property is via narrow lanes but there are passing places, this can be expected for a rural property. Location is good, it only takes 15 mins to Kendal and 10 to 15mins drive to some lovely pubs all serving great food. Keswick, Ambleside, Grasmere and Windermere are all less than 1hr drive away.

Ada’s Hideaway is a very nice stone built property with all that you need for a stay except for bedding suitable for the summer season.

Each of the beds had a duvet with a 13.5 tog value. Personally I would only use that in the depths of a very cold winter. I was very glad that I had brought our 4.5 tog quilts with us. I can only think of two other areas that require attention . The stair gate was not secure for my 16month old grandson and had to be closed with a cable tie. The freezer needed to be defrosted. Points of interest for the owner: The window cleaner came during our stay and washed the windows with a brush but when they dried they were as bad as ever. I tried to make contact with Sykes’ office and was very frustrated by their inaccessibility. Phone calls were unanswered and WhatsApp message replies arrived one or two days later without addressing the initial query. If my payment for the holiday had not been taken out when I booked, my experience with Sykes would have made me cancel the holiday.

Lovely property and very peaceful stay with plenty of space for family and dogs.

Great facilities available and property was very clean and well presented. Would say the check out time by 10am is quite early especially when asked to strip all the beds, have the dishwasher etc emptied, 11am would seem fair especially with not being able to check in until 4pm. Property overall is very warm and the fans were needed especially on a night time in the warmer weather.

Lots of dog friendly places in the area to visit.

The outdoor cushion storage leaks, telling you as I don’t want them ruined for the summer.

...lovely cottage, beautifully clean. Ideally, we could have done with a couple more baking trays for in the oven (but there was plenty of everything else, the kitchen was very well stocked) We arrived in the dark and couldn't t find the name of the cottage on the windowsill...we were confused as we avoided what turned out to be the correct gate as it had another name on it. Half an hour early, and in the light , we'd have been fine !

Lovely barn conversion, that has been beautifully done out and is really well equipped.

Place is immaculate with lots of nice little touches. One of the best rentals we have stayed in.

We both really enjoyed our stay at Ada’s hideaway.

It’s such a beautiful property, we especially liked the reverse living. With the living room upstairs so you could appreciate the views of the fields and horses. The main bathroom was lovely with a beautiful waterfall shower plus separate shower too. The beds were so comfortable, we honestly haven’t slept so well! We’d love to know what mattresses they are.The only thing missing is a dressing table and mirror in the master bedroom. I used a separate room to get ready which had a mirror. I’d have rated 5 stars if it had this. Also, a big coffee table would be nice in the living room. These are things are can easily be changed though so that’s just me being “picky”. Other than that, I’d highly recommend ADA’s hideaway, beautiful location, lovely and quiet and so comfortable. Thank you so much for such a lovely peaceful week which we both really needed.

Lovely place, everything has been thought about and the cottage is perfect and brand new.

Nice secure garden for the dogs and the outdoor lighting is perfect. Nice quiet location but lovely walks from the door and close to everything you could need.

Brilliant stay at Ada's Hideaway, lovely spot located down country lanes yet only 10/15 minutes from Kendal.

Loved the accommodation, dog friendly & toddler friendly. House was clean, tidy & very comfortable beds, it had everything you could need. We loved the view of the horses & the hills. Would definitely stay again. (One small point- little tricky to find the house on arrival, maybe a sign might be beneficial out near the entrance of the track?)

The most beautiful pillows we have ever had.

I would like to know where they are from and purchase them myself. Everyone loved the place and the setting and area. The shower in the en suite was very nice. My dog loved the little enclosed garden. I thoroughly nice place to stay for a couple of days.

Had an amazing holiday, good central location to explore the lakes and surrounding areas will definitely be back again.

Absolutely stunning accommodation, all three bedrooms out of this world so cosy & comfy we all slept like logs !

Great property, nicely maintained in a fantastic location.

Only problem we had was when the electricity tripped and there was no access to the fuse box.

However, this was dealt with quickly and efficiently.

We stayed here in October 2023.

It was a beautiful property and I would return. It is exactly as described and beautiful. We loved seeing all of the horses around the property. I would highly recommend.

Ada’s Hideaway was absolutely gorgeous!

! Everything was extremely clean, the location was fab, they had everything you needed. The fire was perfect and the sofas were so comfy. The beds were huge in every room and we all had a great nights sleep! There were 6 adults, 1 toddler and a dog and we all had plenty of room and definitely didn’t feel like we were living on top of each other. Would highly recommend staying here!

This house is fantastic , exceptionally clean and accurate from even the welcome pack to the cleaning products left .

Had a lovely 4 night break away . Wi-Fi is fast here too The only 3 things that I’d mention ( not complaining) is the sofa is really uncomfortable and low to sit on The floors boards are so noisey when you are trying have a nap downstairs you think there going to fall through And there is no info pack recommended walks , takeaways , etc so had to ask neighbor s about local info

A really well presented, modern property, very well equipped with everything you need.

Beautiful bedding and hand soaps! The enclosed outside area was great for the dogs. At the time we were there we could not get the outside tap to work, and the fan in the en-suit bathroom appeared not to be working. There is no management on site, and we could not find a phone number for anyone at Sykes, so we could not contact anyone to resolve any problems. Sykes emails are sent from a no reply email address.

Really nice property we loved our stay.

Two ever so tiny things, the catch on the garden gate was sticking and quiet hard to get in and out of & also the duvets were a bit too heavy, but that’s just being picky! A great property.

We had a really lovely short break at Aida’s Hideaway.

It was a peaceful location on a farm, with horses in the fields for a view. The inside was beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you would need. The beds were super comfortable and bathrooms were super and clean. Highchair and travel cot available to use. Nice canal walk with the dogs a short distance from farm. Half an hours drive to Windermere were we hired a boat for couple of hours, which was good fun. Would certainly return again, hopefully for a longer stay next time.

This is an amazing luxury cottage, I was even impressed with the kitchen utensils!

There is no cutting corners here, the place is beautiful, good location with fab canal walks for the dog at the bottom of the drive.

My family have just spent an amazing weekend at Ada’s hideaway and highly recommend this property.

The property is set within a horse rehabilitation farm which was very quiet and tranquil. The barn was spotlessly clean and has everything you need to make your holiday extra special. The kitchen included all necessities and more. We had planned to eat out each evening but in the end cooked and stayed in as the facilities were so good. Each evening we ate outside in the garden. Each bedroom was very comfortable with high quality bedding and towels. The en-suite, bathroom and cloakroom are modern and very clean. The lounge had a wonderful view of the fields and a log burning stove which would be great to use in winter. I can’t recommend this property enough and look forward to staying there again soon.

A wonderful holiday cottage, extremely well maintained in a beautiful area.

The only downside to this property is that it is only accessible along stretches of single file country roads. If you are a nervous driver or not that confident behind a wheel then I would certainly think twice before choosing it.
