A great second stay at 2 Birkhead in Troutbeck!

We stayed for the second time in August, and this property truly feels like a cosy home away from home. It is a wonderfully spacious apartment with beautiful views, and our young teenagers thoroughly enjoyed this base for our holiday. It remains exceptionally comfortable, well-equipped, and perfectly situated. Having world-class walks right on your doorstep is unbeatable. We had a brilliant adventure exploring the Troutbeck valley along Hagg Gill and climbing up ‘The Tongue’ for some spectacular views. While our attempt to loop back down the Troutbeck beck side was a bit too overgrown to recommend to others, finding the ancient clapper stone bridge made of massive flat slabs crossing the beck was a highlight. We also enjoyed playing frisbee and flying a kite on the green by Jesus Church, and made a couple of visits to The Mortal Man beer garden and The Queens Head to unwind. Thank you for another perfect week— we cannot wait to return again!

This is an excellent holiday home with superb views and location.

Nice owners and would not hesitate in booking again. Only two things to be aware of as guests as the listing wording is unclear: There is no external garden space at all; and the cars need to be parked in a specific way to accommodate other cars parking in the same area from the accommodation in the rest of the building.
