  • "We had a lovely stay at the cosy peacock, surrounded by beautiful countryside, with a lovely outside seating area to have a glass of wine & enjoy the views."

It is a very peaceful location, but within easy reach from Ambleside & other places around Windermere. There is two lovely country pubs within walking distance, serving good food from both, although we preferred the Mortal Man for the outside seating with stunning views. The cottage itself was very comfortable, especially the beds. The kitchen was well equipped & had everything we needed & the bathrooms had excellent showers. Although the cottage was snug, we had plenty of room for 4 adults & 2 dogs. All in all we had a wonderful week at the lovely cosy peacock & would highly recommend.
