A short drive will take you to pretty Corbridge, which dates back to Roman times and has pubs, specialist shops, and a 12th century bridge spanning the River Tyne. A day exploring the many delights of Hadrian’s Wall shouldn’t be missed and a little further afield will take you to the Heritage Coastline, as well as the castles of Alnwick, Warkworth, Dunstunburgh and Bamburgh.
