  • "Great cottage in beautiful location."

Owner was lovely and made sure we had a great stay. Everything provided that we could need. Hot tub great and a welcome addition after a rather brisk swim in the lakes.

  • "The property is very tired and needs a lot of updating."

It was relatively clean but had lots of spiders webs everywhere and looks like a leaking toilet downstairs. There was no hand wash/soap in the property and no blind put up in the third bedroom. When we asked for this to be remedied the owner was unhelpful/rude but sent someone evebtually. I think this property is overpriced but the hot tub was nice.

The cottage was well equipped everything we needed was available. The hot tub was amazing, red hot and ready to use as soon as we arrived. Great location, 10/15 minutes walk to the village and lots of lovely walks near by. We look forward to returning in the future. Thank you

  • "Stayed for Christmas 2021, we contacted isobel before we arrived to see if there would be a tree in the cottage, Isobel offered to put us one up and asked us if we wanted to decorate it ourselves or if we wanted her to do it."

When we arrived it was dark there were lights outside and the tree was lit in the patio door, it looked very magical. The cottage was warm and very clean on entry, it was just absolutely perfect , we had the best Christmas and amazing week. Being on a working farm was amazing to see all the hard work put in. Beautiful places to visit nearby. 110% recommend to anyone and everyone and will definitely be going back.

  • "The cottage was lovely and in a nice little setting."

The only downside was the cleanliness of the place. It was generally fine but there were parts like shelves which seemed to have been missed repeatedly, and we ended up checking or re-washing most of the kitchen utensils before using. Otherwise everything was great. We loved the hot tub and everything was very comfortable.

  • "My husband and I had a lovely four night stay at this very cosy cottage."

Very clean and tidy, and the open play layout is ideal for family stays. The location is excellent, with lovely walks from the door. The hot tub is amazing, especially on a cold winter's evening under the stars. Down the road in the village there is a good selection of local pubs. The farmer owners were very friendly and helpful. Excellent accommodation.

Plenty of pubs to eat and drink. The horses at the cottage are very friendly. The best bit of course is the hot tub.

  • "The cottage was very comfortable, but not very clean."

As soon as we arrived we had to vacuum up cobwebs and spider sacks that were very obvious. The kitchen was well equipped, but the freezer needed defrosting. There were more than enough towels. The hot tub was wonderful and much appreciated after a day's walking. It was close to Wasdale and the walks around that area, including Scafell Pike. The owners were friendly and there was a little orchard that we were free to pick apples and plums from. The apples were delicious. The cottage is in a farm yard with the accompanying sights, smells and sounds, which we didn't mind at all, but others may not enjoy these so much. There were a lot of flies, but that's to be expected in a farm yard and didn't bother us too much. Upstairs there are sloped ceilings in all the rooms, so beware any tall people! This cottage suited our needs as we were out walking all day and just wanted somewhere comfortable to sleep in. It wouldn't be a suitable choice for those who have young children as there is no outdoor play area. The WiFi connection was great in the morning, but a bit hit and miss in the evening. The village is within easy walking distance and the bakery has the most amazing sausage rolls and meat pies! We had great weather and enjoyed our visit to the beautiful Lake District.

  • "Brilliant holiday cottage in a secluded part of the Lake District."

The cottage is located within a farm but has access to an orchard for your own use. The cottage was in a lovely condition, with everything you could possibly need with the added bonus of a hot tub which was perfect for easing aching muscles after long days of walking. The bonus of perfect summer weather made this holiday perfect. I would highly recommend this cottage.

Managed to see amazing places, Despite the rain. Cottage was well organised. Comfortable beds. Hot tub warm and well looked after. For us particullary the only con would be the location,as we had to drive 30mins-1,5h to reach hills and hiking walks. Thank you

  • "At the present moment with the covid situation we felt it could have been a bit cleaner."

The cushions and throws should have been removed as they did not look clean and were very worn looking. We removed from the leather looking sofa and cleaned down the sofa before using. Did not use the other sofa at all... There are no wardrobes in any of the bedrooms, only a low rail fitted on low beam which resulted in some clothes trailing on the floor. Only one small cupboard in the kitchen for food storage, not really adequate as some food had to be left on the window sill.. The outside space shown in the photos was very overgrown and not suitable for use, and dog mess which had not been cleaned up!!!

Fabulous bakery in the village, and also a fairly well stocked shop. a trouble and problem free holiday! Perfect!

The owners were onsite and friendly and helpful. Isabelle took my son out on the farm and let him help feed the animals. It was a quiet, peaceful location but with easy reach of the village, and Seascale beach. The cottage was perfect for the 7 of us. Lots of mountain biking, walking, lake swimming, all in a totally beautiful location.

  • "The main problem was down stairs was very tired."

The three piece suite was very old, in a poor condition and uncomfortable. The dining table was made up with legs of one table and the top of another ,it was easy to catch your knees when sitting down. The crockery and cooking equipment ,baking trays ect were made up of oddments, nothing matched. There was no cupboard space to store any food stuffs, food had to be kept on a work surface This caused a problem as the work surfaces were very limited and this made it dificult to dish up a meal. There is a fridge freezer to store frozen and chilled foods. The floor is very scratched and need looking at. Up stair was in very good condition ,beds were comfortable and linen provided was good and clean. There is a height issue with low beams as the bedrooms are in the eaves. Access to the property is up a very steep incline and would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues.( Picture of accomodation does not show how steep the incline is.) The decoration through out was in good condition and the owner lives on site and is available if there any problems. The local area has very good places to eat and many nice places to visit.

Isobelle, the farmer, was around and available although we had no problems, the cottage was perfect for our needs with a well equipped kitchen and plenty of towels provided. We stayed during lambing season and it was an added point of interest to see and hear the new lambs, and see the farm in action. The cottage is well situated for access to the western lakes, as well as the beach, and only a few miles from the station. We had a really wonderful holiday and would love to return one day.

Being attached to a working farm offers other opportunities too - seeing horses and sheep being let out into the fields, getting insight into the life of a working farm. Everything has been thought of - the drawers are full of games, maps, leaflets about the area, and it’s altogether so inviting we are booking a return stay.

Lots of low level walks around here near blengdale forest for an energetic dog and family. There’s an orchard and Isobelle let my wife pick some fruit which made a terrific crumble. It is located at the end of the farm courtyard so very secure and isn’t overlooked. The cottage needs a little modernisation but this would make it more expensive I guess so all in all good value compared with others.
