The property and setting was lovely, our first visit to the Lakes, won’t be our last, my only negative feedback and something really small would be the towels, the bath towel was really quite small for an adult and the double bed could probably do with a king size duvet as we was always pulling it off each other, but a really lovely property ☺️

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to hear of how much you enjoyed your stay and your first visit to the Lakes. Thank you for your recommendations regarding the towels and duvet, our Head Housekeeper will look into this. It would be our pleasure to welcome you back. Property Owner

We arrived for our xmas holiday at the lodge to find a poor level of cleanliness, beds not made properly, we had to re wash surfaces and crockery, as we have stayed in 5 different lodges on this lovely park we feel sorry to have to report this , regards j&t

Thank you for the review, Mr Greenaway and we are sorry to hear of your lodge experience. Whilst we note and apologise for the issues raised, as we were not made aware until now we can only say we are sorry for the inconvenience caused. That said we shall certainly look into it and do all we can do make sure something similar does not happen in future. • "This was our second holiday in Comraich and the lodge was as lovely as ever."

Comfortable clean and warm and despite the atrocious weather we enjoyed our week. The only recommendation I would make is that the catch on the gate should be replaced. It is rusty and difficult to close properly, especially so with arthritic fingers! The catch was not good when we stayed in 2019. A minor niggle, but important when taking dogs and keeping them safely enclosed. Comraich comes highly recommended by us and we hope to be able to visit again in the future.

Thank you for your feedback, we are delighted to hear you enjoyed your second stay with us. Thank you for advising about the gate, this has been passed to our maintenance team to look into. It is wonderful to hear you would recommend Comraich Lodge and we do hope you will visit us again in the future! Property Owner

  • "The lodge was lovely, it had everything we needed."

The views were great and the stream running alongside it was really nice and peaceful. The park itself was so quiet and relaxing to walk around. There is a rock pool area where you can paddle in the stream and a dog field which we found useful as you can let them off the leads no problem. There is a small shop which is useful and the onsite pub serves good food. We will definitely be back in the future and recommend both Comraich and Limefitt Park if you are looking for a peaceful break.

Thank you for your feedback, it is wonderful to hear of how much you enjoyed your stay and that you wish to return. Comraich is a wonderful lodge in a great location and it is a firm favourite amongst our guests. We look forward to welcome you back. Property Owner

  • "Lovely well equipped accommodation in a quiet and beautiful location."

As others have said don’t count on the WiFi provided by the site as it can be very hit or miss (and slow at times). Only suggestion for improvements would be to ask the site owners if the trees on the river bank opposite could be topped or thinned to allow sunlight onto the deck in the late afternoon / evening.

Thank you for the review. Whilst delighted you enjoyed your stay we note and apologise that the park wifi was not as reliable as you would have liked. We have passed your all you have said to the park management for their reference and can only hope that they take them on board. We are pleased that you otherwise enjoyed your stay at this beautifully presented spacious lodge. With it's riverside location this is a popular place to stay. We do hope that we welcome you again soon. Property Owner

We were going to book for next year but are not willing to pay nearly 3x the price. It would be nice is the lodge provided prosecco glasses.

Thank you for your lovely review. The lodge is in an ideal location and provides a great base for visiting the local area. Prices do increase annually and you may see a larger difference due to your booking being made back in 2019. We will feedback to the owner regarding your comments about the glasses. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful lodge in a perfect location situated by the stream."

So peaceful and relaxing. We had a lovely weekend. There is a wasps nest in the eves - round the corner from the patio doors towards the front door, which you may want to deal with. A welcome pack would be useful - and particularly an indication on how to access the WiFi whilst there.

Thank you for your feedback and we are delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay and had a relaxing break. Thank you for making us aware of the wasps nest, this has been investigated and we can confirm they are minor bees who will do no harm. We have noted your further comments and will take these onboard. Comraich Lodge is a very popular lodge and we do hope you will return to enjoy the lodge again. Property Owner

The property

Comraich is a beautifully presented lodge at Limefitt Park in the tranquil Troutbeck valley, with a unique ‘L-shape’ design, offering guests a spacious lounge, dining and kitchen area.

It sits in a sought-after position on the riverbank of the ‘Trout Beck’ with views to the fells and beyond, and bi-fold doors opening onto a spacious outside deck where you can simply sit and listen to the sound of the beck below and nature all around.

Comraich means ‘sanctuary’ and is named after the old Gaelic name for Applecross in the Scottish Highlands, which was a resting place for travellers crossing from Ireland since the 7th Century.

Your lodge is nestled in a peaceful area of this lovely location at Limefitt Park - a lovely spot just four miles from Windermere village, five miles from the lake shore at Bowness, and ten miles from Ullswater.

The Troutbeck valley Limefitt Park is a great base for your touring or walking holiday and you can walk to two local traditional pubs through the fields, and up onto the fells behind the Park toward the High Street range.

Jump in the car and you’ll discover Brotherswater six miles away, and Ullswater ten miles away.

All of course with local pubs and shops and fantastic walks and breathtaking views.

Back on the Park there is a handy pub and shop, and children’s playground and nearby pony trekking.

A wonderful place to make family memories in your own 'sanctuary'.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.
