When we arrived the on-suite bathroom floor was very wet due to the main shower not turned off properly and the shower doors open, but was easily sorted. The location was very central and just caught buses around the surrounding area as the stops were just outside the entrance.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review, we are glad that you enjoyed your stay at Hilltop lodge. The lodge is in such a good position and the bus stop outside the site is so handy. So sorry to hear that the ensuite floor needed drying, I have passed this onto our cleaners. It was an absolutely fabulous stay. The lodge is clean, comfortable, furnished beautifully and has many additional homely features. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived. We used the onsight facilities, the health club in troutbridge which were all great. We walked, took the boat across the lake, visited Beatrix Potter and the Aquarium. All in all we has a fabulous time. My 7 year old daughter is already begging us to rebook. Thank you so much.

It was really clean, cosy, spacious, and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. The beds were very comfortable, the hot tub was a bonus (and serviced twice a day by a company on site). We used the on site swimming pool and clubhouse a few times, and got out and about exploring the local area. All in all, it was exactly what we needed after a very busy few weeks in work. Thank you.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. So glad you enjoyed the lodge, which has very recently benefitted from a new en-suite bathroom and newly decorated bedrooms, new beds and bedding. • "We loved our stay here!"

It had everything we needed, great location and the hot tub was a lovely addition! Our only slight niggle was that the TV can’t connect to the internet so we couldn’t watch Netflix etc in the evenings which was a shame, in the end we bought a HDMI cable so we could connect our laptop to the screen instead. But other than this, the lodge was clean and extremely comfortable, we’d definitely come back!

Thank you for your review, we are so pleased that you enjoyed staying at the lodge. We do apologised that you struggled to get the internet on the new smart tv, the maintenance team have now been into the lodge to reset the internet and it is now back up and running. Take care. Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed our stay very much."

Great place and lots of space for a family. Location is great property is away from the main road and the lake front is less than 100yards away good for water sports. Jacuzzi is a great addition to the property and helps a lot during the rainy days or after the long day walk. Lots of small personal touches throughout the property makes it look like home. Two bathrooms is also advantage. The down side is the the basin a shower waste are not working well and takes time to drain while you using it. And probably as result causing smell of dumbness and mouldiness in the en-suite bathroom that spreads to the bedroom. If this issues are resolved this property otherwise makes a great holiday retreat with great location for the Windermere and The Lakes.

Thank you for your lovely comments about the lodge, it is in such a lovely position on the park. The hot tub is brand new and great fun. So sorry about the drainage in the shower, the maintenance team have been in and did find a pipe dislodged under the en suite bathroom, they have now rectified the problem. Kind regards. • "When we arrived at the lodge the kitchen and living room were nice, clean and cosy however once we got to the bedrooms and bathrooms that was not so good."

Double bedroom had a musty smell and the en-suite bathroom had a sour drain smell and not the cleanest. The main bathroom looked tired and again not the cleanest. the double bed was very uncomfortable, 4 sleepless nights which is not good when you are away trying to relax. We have stayed at many lodges around Windermere and The Lakes and never had any problems however this lodge was disappointing, overpriced and definitely wouldn’t book to come back. There were good 2 points the small homely touches and the hot tub.

Thank you for your feedback. We will ask our Housekeeping and Maintenance Teams to look into your comments about the cleanliness and the drain smell. We do find that mattresses and bedding are down to personal preference. We take your comments on board. Thank you- The Lake District Lodge Holidays Owner Relations Team Property Owner

Thank you for your review. All the plates, pots, pans, cutlery ,glasses are brand new but sorry that you found it too well stocked. Clean and very well equipped with a good selection of glassware (not always the case). Outside area is lovely and private and gets the sun pretty much all day between the front and side deck. The new owners have made some updates to the decor already which was a nice surprise. Only comment would be the table and chairs next to the hot tub could do with a freshen up for eating outside, but we just used the seating out front instead. We loved it and would definitely return in the future!
