  • "A lovely lodge, very comfortable."

Our family were also on the site so we could get together with plenty of room to share meals etc. There was just one drawback which doesn't seem much, but we have stayed at Limefitt before and we know that most lodges only provide Freeview so we always take dvds to watch. Unfortunately the dvd player had no connection to the TV, there was WiFi but no connection for 4 days. More local information would have been helpful too.

Glad you enjoyed the lodge sorry about drawback . We bought a smart TV last year and hoped we had sorted Vodafone broadband so guests would have more than Freeview for Limefitt regulars. . Will have to investigate why Wi-Fi wasn’t available - so frustrating. Sounds silly but we had forgotten that the old DVD was there , will see if we can get it working when we are up next. We are in process of updating info folder. Property Owner

  • "A lovely clean well equipped lodge in a quiet area of the park!"

The beds are not comfortable but I suppose it’s a preference perhaps a thicker mattress in the main room is required? Other than that it was home from home and much more reasonably priced than some of the other lodges available! Would love to stay again on my list for next year for sure! Thank you!

Glad you enjoyed the lodge. Sorry to hear the mattress wasn’t to your liking. We bought a new one last year and it is a Harrison Spinks brand which we were advised was what all the hotels used! Hope to see you again anyway. Property Owner

  • "Absolutely fantastic stay!"

The lodge was very clean and looked like no one had stayed there before which is a real credit! The heating was excellent and warm and the shower was great! The wifi in the lodge was not working but we were able to get on the parks wifi so it was fine. Also the key fob for the barrier was not working but I just rang the buzzer and it was opened for us so again no issues! Would 100% come back again!

Thank you for your feedback. We are very pleased that you enjoyed the lodge as much as we do, it is a lovely get away. We are very sorry to hear that the Wi-Fi wasn't working, we have just installed a new router and it did work for us so we will definitely investigate that. In regards to the fob, usually if there is any problems reception are able to sort that but we are glad that it did not cause too much difficulty. We hope to welcome you back again. Property Owner

I think a slightly less firm mattress would suit the majority of occupants better.

The lodge was very clean, light and airy, and exceptionally well equipped. We slept very well in the comfy bed and the shower in the en suite bathroom was good. (We didn't use the main bathroom as there was just the two of us). The large veranda was very enjoyable with loads of seating and we could relax knowing it was secure so the dog couldn't escape! The site was good too, with a dog walking area and pleasant pub, and within easy walking distance of a couple of excellent places to eat. All in all 10 out of 10 and we hope to return later in the year.

  • "Very well equipped and spacious caravan-lodge."

Liked the site - not too noisy. When we arrived the incense sticks and plug in air fresheners were overpowering. We put them away in a cupboard. Next time I might look for somewhere that does not accept pets; although lodge was clean there was a sense that lots of dogs had been climbing around and shedding hair. Minor niggle - the caravan next door had its balcony dismantled while we were there. Result not very attractive and surprised this was allowed to happen during July.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Pheasant’s Nest. The lodge is pet friendly and is cleaned after each stay. We will pass your comments on to our Housekeeping team to ensure that our high standards continue to be met. Ideal for dogs & walks straight from property. Very high standard. Apart from the beds/mattress! I’m not that fussy but I’m sorry the mattress was awful. Other than that can’t fault this and would defo come back again if you have different mattress. Such a shame as you have gone above & beyond in the quality of utensils & decor & furniture. Love the hidden en-suite through the walk-in cupboard.

Thank you for your feedback. We do find comfort to be a personal preference but we will definitely raise your comment with the owners to check the mattress. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused. That said, we are delighted to hear of how much you enjoyed your stay and everything the lodge had to offer. There is a spacious balcony with plenty of outdoor seating and is enclosed ensuring that pets can't escape. The location commands a great view of the surrounding hills of Troutbeck and there are plenty of walks from the site. All in all We highly recommend Pheasants Nest rating it 9.5 out of 10 only dropping the half point due to the beds.

Thank you for your feedback and we are pleased to hear you had a wonderful stay. Only downside is that the wi fi is very poor, it would benefit greatly by having its own wi fi, but if you’re not bothered about that it’s great. It’s near the end of the road with beautiful views of the fields.

  • "First stay at pheasants nest."

Lovely lodge, clean and very well maintained . Well equipped. Very comfy sofa and bed, but pillows not fit for purpose (or clean) need replacing. Disappointed that the finishing “home from home” touches were not provided as in other lodges we’ve been to on site. Eg lack of spare toilet roll; liquid soap at all sinks; Washing up liquid bottle had quite literally two squirts in it. Yes 3 dishwasher tablets were provided but for 7 days?? No salt and pepper provided. No small carton of milk or any tea/coffee provided. Which is always a very welcome and much appreciated gesture after a long journey. No spare kitchen bin liners. I could go on ; whilst these may seem little things nowadays people expect them to be provided (& were in other privately owned lodges we’ve stayed in, so I suppose we had come to expect) especially as the cost of hiring the three lodges we’ve booked and stayed in at Limefitt this year has gone up dramatically.

Thank you for your feedback. All your points have been raised directly with the owner who has spoken with the cleaner, the owner is sorry you did not fully enjoy your time in Pheasant's Nest. The owners visit regularly and take great pride in making their lodge a real home away from home and we can confirm the owners have replaced the pillows following your comment. Our lodges are all self-catering and items are provided to get you started, we are sorry you felt this is not enough. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused. We do hope you will return, Pheasant's Nest is a wonderful lodge with far reaching views which are not to be missed. Property Owner

2 x adults and 1 x 16 year old girl. On arrival we were very impressed with all the home comforts and touches. It was super clean and smelt fresh. The lodge is well stocked with pretty much everything you will need. Lots of space and storage too. The outside area was a lovely surprise, it had the sun all day and there was not only a table and chairs to eat outside, but also a nice little sofa set to relax on. It is dog friendly but we decided not to bring our dog last minute as she had been unwell. However, the place is perfect for dogs, the porch is enclosed all the way round and there is plenty of space inside. It didn’t smell of dog at all either. The location was perfect for everything we planned to do. We found it was quite central to our plans. The wifi for the park is not great, this is not the fault of the lodge but the park. However we weren’t bothered as we came away to unplug and enjoy being outside and away from technology. We would recommend the lodge to friends and family. Thanks so much.
