  • "We had the loveliest 4 night stay here."

Our 8, 6 and 1 year old joined us and we all loved the hot tub which we made use of every night. Beds were very comfy, kitchen was spacious with all you need, bathrooms were nice, the dining table was big and kids could relax and draw here, and the surroundings were so calm and chilled. It’s a very short drive to Bowness and Ambleside and we took the kids to Brockhole for their Halloween event which was amazing and it has zip lines and play areas for the rest of the year and it was round the corner! My only recommendation for the lodge would be to have a DVD player as my kids love to snuggle up each evening for movie night and freeview tv doesn’t have films. We actually took our own DVD player so we were totally sorted. We would absolutely come back to stay again!

Thank you for your feedback from your stay at our lodge. Next year we’ll be installing a play station that I believe has the facility to play dvds. Property Owner

The utility that is shown is actually locked so you can’t get in and could of done with a easier way to turn the fire on ( the manual in the door was draw was complicated to understand) the bedding and towels smelled lovely and clean and well stocked kitchen. However you can’t please everyone and we have already booked for next year and can’t wait.

We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay in our lovely lodge. Our refurbishment continues which includes a new dining table, chairs, suite and kitchen. Hopefully your stay with us next year will be even more enjoyable Property Owner

  • "Really nice lodge, very cozy and spacious."

Has everything you need. Only issues I found was that there was no blinds in the bedrooms and the jets in the hot tub weren't very good. Everything else was great.

Hi We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at our lovely lodge. I do not understand the problem with the hot tub jets. It is emptied, cleaned and checked-over after every booking. Our on-going refurbishment will be completed for the opening of the season in 2024 and we look forward to welcoming you back soon. Property Owner

Highly recommended. We had a problem with accessing the key and the heating but these issues were swiftly resolved. Note that the utility room shown in the photos is not available to guests. However there is plenty of space. Sadly we did not have the weather to enable us to enjoy the hot tub or the roof top terrace.

  • "We have been staying at white cross bay for many years and this is the second time we have stayed in this lodge."

The lodge is situated in the perfect place on the park, small walk to the main pub/shop/swimming pool and also a small walk to the marina. The lodge itself is very comfortable, equipped with everything needed for a stay away & great hot tub/roof top area. The only thing I would recommend is the lodge could do with a bit of a deep clean/ touch up just so it’s at its full potential but this did not affect our stay. White cross bay is in a lovely location with so much to do on your doorstop so will definitely be booking again for next year.

  • "Very disappointed with cleanliness/maintenance of the lodge, especially considering the premium we had to pay for staying over new year: I had to wash all the crockery/glassware we needed on arrival."

Dishes were put into the cupboard dirty. Had to scrub dining table as it had sticky marks all over it. Long curly hair found on my pillow on going to bed on the first night. Hot tub jets partially working (yes, we tried to twist them on/off) En suite floor tiles not secure - standing on one tile prevented bathroom door opening. No anti slip strips on entrance stairs. The lodge is a really good size and layout is great. We paid the additional amount for use of the pool, which was warm and the boys really enjoyed it.

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and thank you for your feedback. We are sorry about the dirty cutlery and we have spoken to the cleaner who explained that everything was put away from the dishwasher but in future she will check the cleanliness. The lodge will be having a full deep clean this month and we will be carrying out some refurbishments during this year. Property Owner

Great except the way we were treated in the restaurant, as we weren’t owners of the lodge we were treated like second class citizens, after waiting over 45 minutes for out breakfast order we were told it was going to be another 45 minutes as a lodge owner and family/guests had arrived in their posh area and our order would be pushed back, I understand that owners after paying to buy a lodge are going to get preferential treatment but I still felt it was wrong and unfair

  • "Lovely cosy cabin had all facilities we needed."

The cabin is close to clubhouse and lake both about 5 mins walk away in each direction. 1 small issue dirty grill pan ( full of grease) we cleaned it but didn't use as there was a toaster we only use anywhere for breakfast as we eat out at night. Also I don't have a dish washer so didn't use but I think an instruction leaflet would be handy if next people want to give it a try. No reflection on the log cabin but it is very poorly lit definitely needs lots more lighting and the clubhouse is nowhere big enough to cope with people who stay we went in on 2 nights at 7 o clock and not a table or space this needs attention. The arcade is left to older boys to use the basketball ball to play football in there smaller children getting hit. If there parents just sit and drink and not watching/bothered about what they doing then this should be manned by staff or cameras to reception staff to monitor and control.

  • "We had a nice 2 day stay at the lodge."

It was very clean and the furniture was comfortable. A welcome pack and a note from the owners would have been nice. There was NO internet for the whole time as reception advised that they were upgrading it so it was not available. One of the recliners was broken and didn't recline. The clubhouse is small. We did not use the pool or gym. Suggestions: an umbrella on the deck, a barbeque.

  • "Wonderful place, the whole family had a brilliant time while in No 6 Thirlmere !"

! The lodge itself is fantastic, comfortable sofa/chairs and beds, loads of space, loads of towels, lovely hot tub, rooftop balcony was brilliant at night for the kids and great that the WiFi never worked, kids could be kids again without social media :-). Couple of very minor things, not complaints, just observations - some food goods were left behind from previous lodgers in cupboards and freezer, not sure why cleaners didn't remove them before our arrival, cleaners could do better with removing the few cobwebs within the lodge, plus a fold up clothes horse for hanging wet clothes would be great to have in the lodge. All in all, super lodge, within a super park, in a super location ... We will definately be back to Thirlmere View !!

Thank you for your feedback. We are delighted to hear of how much you enjoyed your stay and the amenities within the lodge. Thank you for your further comments, these will be looked into. We appreciate you bringing these to our attention. We are so pleased to hear you wish to return and we look forward to welcoming you back. Property Owner

We were saying on departure how much we wished we could stay a few more days. Everything was lovely and clean. The towels provided were lovely and soft and smelt amazing. The hot tub was very much enjoyed. We didn’t realise we needed to state we needed a travel cot before arriving but the team was very accommodating at sorting this out for us. And we had one within the hour (very thankful for there co-operation) The only thing I would fault is having no hand wash in the bathrooms and the wifi wasn’t the best. We didn’t manage to connect to the wifi stated in the description. There is night time entertainment advertised but when we went nothing was on. On a camp site like this you definitely need some form of entertainment specially for the children. Other than this we had an awesome time and won’t stop us from booking it again.

Thank you for taking the time to submit your valued feedback. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Thirlmere View. Your positive comments are very much appreciated and we take on board your constructive feedback relating to Wi-Fi performance and lack of evening entertainment. We will ensure these matters are brought to the park's attention. Hand soap will now be provided for guests and we thank you for this suggestion. We very much hope to welcome you back in the future. Cutlery and some glasses were dirty Few wine glasses and one cracked . Bathroom fan ran through the night which was quite noisy .

Thank you for taking the time to submit your valued feedback. We apologize for the inconvenience caused due to one of the showers not working. This, we are pleased to report, has now been repaired. The bathroom fan is turned on and off with a manual switch found above the door, we regret that you were unaware of this and for the disturbance caused through the night. The cleaning issues will, of course be dealt with and further to your recommendation, additional wine glasses will be purchased. The lodge was lovely for us going into it, there is areas which could have been cleaner but that’s if you were to be really picky with it which we weren’t. I couldn’t give a downside with the lodge the only thing about our stay was the complex on site, I didn’t find the staff as helpful as they could have been in situations that was their error not ours. • "The lodge is extremely cosy and made us feel at home."

Lots of extra things provided I.e. teabags and dishwasher tablets etc which we did not expect. It was really easy to find and everything inside the resort is well sign posted. Only downfall is that it did not say anywhere that there is a 10:30 Curfew on the hot tub, this is a bit early and not ideal when the earliest you can check in is 4pm. Not sure what the difference is when you could be sitting out on the patio beside the hot tub to whatever time. Other than this the stay was great.

We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us at our lodge and you found it cosy and to your liking. Unfortunately the hot tub curfew of 10pm is a rule implemented by White Cross Bay and covers all the hot tubs across the site and we have no control over this whatsoever. We hope it did not spoil your enjoyment too much and we look forward to welcoming you again soon. Property Owner

  • "This is a very spacious and comfortable Lodge with a fantastic hot tub, good location and comfortable beds , but unfortunately the cleanliness let it down ."

Headboards in bedrooms thick with dust , dirty crockery and hob . All the cupboard doors were dirty. Stained bedding, I could go on . The whole lodge needs a deep clean. I’ve never stayed in a lodge booked with LDLH before that hasn’t been spotlessly clean, I can only hope this isn’t a sign of things to come now that Sykes have taken over.

We are sorry to hear that your recent short break at one of our lodges was not met with our usual high standards that we normally provide. As you know we are currently going through a hand-over transition and this will be fully completed soon. You can be assured that this will not happen again as we will be implementing a managed cleaning and maintenance system. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed the other benefits of this particular lodge as it’s part of our premier collection and offers a unique roof top terrace with spectacular views of the lake and fells.
