“Excellent location - middle of the village.”

Very well equipped cottage. Spotlessly clean. Lots of useful information in cottage. Supermarkets close by. Couldn't fault it (and, believe me, I'm not easily this pleased). Just one thing - could you order some better weather next time we come :-D

This ground floor apartment in a cosy cottage is situated just off the main road in the centre of Windermere. Thyme Cottage is ideal for a couple’s retreat, as it offers peace and quiet while being located in one of the most popular villages in the Lake District. All situated on the ground floor, the apartment offers a luxurious stay with a spacious open plan sitting room with two leather reclining chairs and a TV and DVD player, perfect for relaxing after a busy day of exploring.

The contemporary kitchen is well-equipped and the bedroom includes a king size bed.

The bathroom adds to the luxury of staying in Thyme Cottage with underfloor heating and a monsoon shower. The buzzing village of Windermere offers a range of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, which are right on your doorstep.

Bowness-on-Windermere, which is just over a mile away, also offers its own array of shops and restaurants, as well as the famous World of Beatrix Potter Attraction.

You can also marvel at the stunning views from Bowness Bay such as Belle Isle - the largest island on Lake Windermere. For couples looking to venture further afield, the bus and train station in Windermere is only a five minutes walk away from the apartment, meaning you can leave your car while exploring other areas of the Lake District.

The historic market town of Kendal on the outskirts of the Lake District can be accessed by train in just 15 minutes.

Or if you’d like to sail away, you can jump on a Lake Cruiser from Bowness Bay and explore villages dotted around Lake Windermere, including Ambleside, Brockhole and Lakeside.
