The property

Valley View Lodge is a spacious and beautifully presented lodge situated in the Wansfell area of Limefitt Park.

The lodge backs onto a woodland area and enjoys breath-taking views of the surrounding fells.

Valley View Lodge is a bright and airy lodge which is a perfect welcome retreat after a day hiking or sightseeing.

The open plan living area offers a great place for all of the family to plan the next days activities.

This unique lodge sleeps five people with a single third bedroom and also has its own dedicated WIFI.

The outside space has a great decking area with outdoor seating, perfect for outdoor dining in the warmer months.

Limefitt Park is based in the Troutbeck Valley, only four miles from Windermere village, a bustling vibrant centre with shops, pubs and cafes; or a mile further on to Bowness with steam cruises, restaurants and shops.

Back at Limefitt, you have two great local pubs in walking distance, there’s a pub and small shop on site too.

On the other side of the valley is Wansfell Pike and over to Ambleside.

Driving to Ambleside is around four miles, and Glenridding the village on the shores of Ullswater is ten miles away.

“Valley View is a nice lodge, if a little cluttered.”

There didn’t seem to be as much space to move around in the living area as we have had in other lodges at Limefitt. This maybe due to the odd angle of the breakfast bar. It’s also not in as good a position as the other lodges. You feel that you need to have the blinds drawn most of the time as it isn’t too private. ...

My other concern was that it had no DVD player in the living room despite being advertised as having one there. We clarified it with the booking agent when we booked and she confirmed it was advertised as such. We knew the chance of having bad weather over the weekend was high so we had bought DVD’s for the evenings. Sadly the only DVD player was a Playstation in one of the bedrooms. This had a notice on it stating ‘not to be moved’ but there are no available sockets in the living area to plug it in if you did move it. We rang the helpline to ask about the DVD and was told someone would get back to us, we also got a confirming email stating this. Unfortunately no one contacted us so we called the helpline again and was told the DVD player was broken, the person on the helpline also said that judging by the photos it was never in the living area. the person then told us to move the Playstation. We explained there were no available sockets. Just after this call the advert was changed and no longer states that there is a DVD player in the living area. The DVD player may seem like a trivial issue but it was one of the reasons we picked Valley View. We were disappointed with that and the response from the helpline. We were also disappointed that we weren’t told before hand, that it was broken, if that was the case, and the fact the advert was amended after we queried it.

Thank you for your feedback, we have noted your concerns and have passed these over to the lodge owners to look into. We can tell you that the guests prior to your stay reported an issue with the DVD player and was subsequently removed from the lodge to be fixed. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused. Noting your further comments, we have taken this up with the customer service team. It is most unusual to receive such comments and we would like to think a one off. That said, we are sorry. Valley View is great place to stay and we do hope you will return for another stay soon. - Sykes owner relations
