Lovely stay at Fellside Cottage!

Handy to have the owners living next door (without them being intrusive). Everything we needed, clear instructions and a great shower! Also, easy access from the A66, and to lots of local fells!

The property was extremely comfortable, in a very peaceful location making a most pleasant and relaxing stay.

Facilities in the property are of quality and add to a comfortable stay. Location was perfect for us and we would definitely stay again. We highly recommend this property.

Beautiful and quiet cottage, a perfect stay!

It had everything I needed from a base to explore the lake district. Jane was welcoming and made me feel at home. Clean and comfortable, with public footpaths to the fells from the front door! I look forward to visiting again!

We had a lovely stay at Fellside Cottage.

Jane was friendly and helpful at all times, providing extra wood for the optional burner when we asked for it. We had to duck our heads through a couple of doorways, but nothing that would stop us staying again. The views and friendly neighbours were lovely, making this a very pleasant stay

We had a lovely 7 night stay in Fellside Cottage.

The cottage is very clean, well equipped and cosy. We appreciated the little touches such as biscuits and milk upon arrival and an extensive information folder! We would recommend this accommodation but just as pre-warning to those considering, there are steps to every room and low ceilings (as expected from a cottage). In the colder months we would advise lots of warm clothing too and be prepared to stick your hand out of the shower every 30 seconds so the sensor controlling the light stays on, otherwise you find yourself showering in the dark. Jane was a very welcoming and friendly host. We would also recommend the Bassenthwaite Lake Station and The Bridge in Hotel in Buttermere for food.

This is a wonderful, cosy, quiet place to stay, with walks from the cottage and a good bus service between Keswick and Cockermouth 20 minutes walk away.

The cottage has a well-equipped kitchen (up 2 steps ), there's a lovely bathroom (mind your head on the low beam!), woodburning stove and plentiful logs. We were pleased to arrive in the daylight to negotiate the snug, off-road parking space which is only accessible from one direction. Jane could not have been more welcoming, friendly and helpful. Staying here made a perfect base from which to explore the North West Lakes.

We had great holiday.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our week at Fellside, the cottage is spotlessly clean and very comfortable and has a well equipped kitchen and excellent bath and shower.

We had some great walks from the door with others a short drive away, or there is a bus to Keswick less than a mile walk down the lane. The Pheasant Inn is also worth a visit just over a mile away. There is nothing negative to write, thank you for the lovely stay!

Really enjoyed our stay at Fellside Cottage, it was a very cozy base for exploring the North-Western fells.

Hosts were brilliant, and the cottage was homely, clean and had everything we needed. Would highly recommend and we’d love to stay again, thank you!

The cottage is everything you need for a the Self catering holiday Ideally situated for the Western Lakes. Jane is the perfect host,and nothing is too much trouble. Can happily recommend this property and we will definitely return.

We loved our stay at Fellside, very comfortable and ideally placed for exploring some of the less well-known parts of the Lake District.

The owners were welcoming and very affable. We would have preferred a dishwasher to the washing machine but made the booking in full knowledge of that so not a big issue.

We have just returned from a very comfortable stay in this delightful cottage.

It was very clean and was short of nothing. We were delighted with the welcome basket, and the fresh milk on our arrival. It was also lovely to see that there was a Bible in the bedside table, as sadly many owners seem afraid to leave them out these days. The owner was very friendly and helpful. This cottage was certainly a welcomed blessing to us and a perfect base for our adventures in the North Western Fells. So quiet and peaceful too, perfect for some much needed rest and recuperation. Thank you so much.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting.

Very comfortable.

Unfortunately we had to cut short our holiday as my wife was ill, so we needed to return home.

However, the cottage is well located for visiting many interesting places. It was clean and generally well-equipped. The stairs are very steep - a disadvantage for the elderly or not so sure-footed.The only other issue - very minor - was the shortage of coat hangers! We enjoyed our very short stay and were sorry to leave.

We would like to say the cottage was great perfect for seeing around the lake District the owner was very good and helpful, came out to meet us when we arrived,so all in all we had excellent week .

Loved the cottage and the stunning situation, with great walks from the door.

Friendly owner and neighbours. Comfortable bed and lovely bathroom, although the mirror is rather too high for shorter people! Maybe a mirror in the bedroom would be helpful? A very enjoyable stay in our favourite part of the country. Thank you.

Had a lovely bank holiday weekend at fellside.

Jane was very welcoming and we felt at home. Excellent facilities, we will certainly be back in the future for another visit.

Lovely little gem this cottage was so pleased to have come across this accidental with easy access to popular points of interest.

Lovely cottage, super well equipped with anything you'd want!

Log burner with plenty of logs, double-ended bath and separate shower with really hot water. The location is perfect if you have a car, with Cockermouth 5-10 mins drive away having lots of big shops and restaurants, and Keswick 10-15 mins drive. Fantastic base to explore the North Lakes. And a lovely welcome basket! Only thing we'd say is the bath towels are a bit small, so bring your own if you like big ones! But this definitely didn't detract from our great stay!

The cottage is very quaint, clean and well decorated throughout.

The bathroom and kitchen feel very new and are fitted out to a high standard. We loved our stay at Fellside Cottage. An amazing view from the front. The location is perfect for visiting so many areas, it is half way between Keswick and cockermouth. We would definitely recommend and will be back again soon. Thanks to Jane for all her help.

First Class cottage for 2 people with absolutely everything you could need.

It was cosy and very comfortable. Just what you need for a relaxing break. Jane is an excellent host and the welcome pack was a nice surprise. There is so much to do in this area of The Lakes. Highly recommend Buttermere, Whinlatter forest and the Bassenthwaite railway restaurant. Definitely hope to return.

This is a lovely cosy cottage which has been recently refurbished to a very high standard.

It is perfect for a couple. The area is ideal for walking the fells and accessing Keswick and Cockermouth. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend it.

Very cosy cottage and well equipped.

Jane and Andrew the owners were very welcoming. Only a few minutes from the A66 so Cockermouth and Keswick within easy reach. Bassenthwaite Lake only a few minutes away and would recommend a visit to the railway station and the Pheasant Inn. Buttermere was only a short drive and was our favourite. Plenty of walking on your doorstep too. Highly recommended and we hope to return soon.

We really enjoyed our two week stay at Fellside Cottage.

Set in a beautiful location with lovely views. The cottage has everything you need is spacious warm and comfortable. Jane the owner was very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.

Nicely situated in a quiet village with good views over countryside.

Ling Fell is easily accessible from a footpath behind the cottage. Close enough to major road to make other areas easy to get to. Owners Jane and Andrew were friendly and very helpful.

We had a fabulous stay at Fell Cottage.

It was spotless and provided everything for our needs, especially comfortable lounge furniture and bed, not always found in a 2 person cottage! The tranquility and location met our requirements as we preferred the less crowded lakes. Many thanks to Jane and Andrew for a warm welcome and helpful knowledge. The view from the cottage was spectacular.

Lovely comfortable cottage, had a very relaxing stay, got in a couple of walks which were easily accessed via the path behind the cottage, fantastic location, Keswick one way and Cockermouth the other way.

A very comfortable and peaceful place to stay, well situated for the North West Lakes, Keswick and Cockermouth.

Spacious rooms, and really comfortable furnishings - great appliances in the kitchen and bathroom and loved the wood burner. Will definitely return!

Fellside cottage is ideally situated for fell walking straight from the property.

We've just returned from a much needed week away at Fellside Cottage.

We wanted a cosy cottage with a log burner, a bath to soak in and walking routes off the doorstep. A perfect week escaping the rat race to completely slow down to enjoy fresh air and spectacular scenery, even in November! A beautiful cottage in a quiet village with everything we needed. Jane, the owner had left a welcome basket of goodies and a jug of milk in the fridge. Cockermouth and Keswick close by with some lovely shops for rainy days. We didn't want to leave and will definitely be returning. Superb!

And well placed for exploring the north western Lake District. Jane, the owner and neighbour, was friendly and helpful. The cottage has a number of steepish steps so isn't ideal for people with mobility problems.

Cozy, clean, nicely furnished cottage.

In a lovely quiet location, between the two towns of Cockermouth and Keswick surrounded by beautiful views. Kitchen has everything you need, and new bathroom with a great big bath! The owners are lovely and will help with anything. If you’re tall watch your head, low doorway to kitchen and small door to the bathroom.

Very clean and the kitchen well appointed, bathroom was very spacious.

Having the log burner for the chillier evening was a bonus and made it feel cosy. The area was rural and quiet which was what we liked.
