  • "A wonderful little place in a wonderful area, peaceful, picturesque, just so relaxing."

..The lodge is equipped with everything you need should you wish to self cater, you also have the luxury of a recliner sofa...A fabulously comfy bed with a top notch duvet and pillows and a shower which you don't want to get out of and of course spotlessly clean throughout...I would definitely be up for a return visit...

Thank you so much for this lovely description of the lodge. So pleased you enjoyed the peace and tranquility. Hope to see you again! Property Owner

  • "We have had a delightful 10 day stay at Lands Brow Cottage."

The cottage was very well decorated and exceptionally clean and cosy and was just what we were looking for! The cottage itself is located in a very quiet location and peace and quiet was what we were looking for!! The reclining sofas and log burner were absolute bliss after a days walking round the incredible lakes ! We will be returning in the New Year.

Thank you for your kind words and super that the lodge lived up to your expectations. See you again soon! Property Owner

  • "Lands Brow Lodge is the perfect retreat for a restful & peaceful break."

The Lodge is very comfortable with every facility you could need & a fantastic cinema room to boot! Host Andy was very helpful with insights into the surrounding areas. We found wonderful walks, great places to eat (Oddfellows Arms, Caldbeck serves great food). We visited Silloth & Maryport and drove along the coast (Lifeboat Inn @ Maryport serves great food too). Carlisle is a good shopping town & has some wonderful walks and historic places of interest. We had a lovely time & will definitely revisit.

Thank you for your review! Lovely to hear such fantastic feedback. Property Owner

  • "We had a brilliant stay in Lands Brow Lodge."

Well designed, comfortably furnished, and all the mod cons you might want. The sunny patio with garden furniture was wonderful, too. The owners clearly take great care of the property, and have created a relaxing, welcoming, and peaceful holiday retreat. The Lodge is well placed for walks, and is near places of interest, as well as the Lake District. We have no hesitation in recommending a holiday at LBL.

So pleased you enjoyed your stay. Hope you return in the future! Property Owner

Property a little cool due to opening up of attic and nothing to stop the draught. Nicely furnished and well equipped

About the location

WIGTON

Carlisle 12 miles; Keswick 20 miles.

A traditional Cumbrian market town with a charter granted in 1262, which still holds a market each Friday in the covered market hall, along with an open air car boot sale. Wigton is a popular centre for shopping, pubs and restaurants, and also boasts a theatre, bowls, swimming, tennis and other sports. Lord Melvyn Bragg was a native of Wigton, and used the town (called Thurston in some of his writings) and the surrounding area as the setting for his novels including ‘A Time to Dance’. Located 18 miles from Penrith it is a good base for the attractions of the North Lakes, the cathedral city of Carlisle, 12 miles away, Keswick, just north Derwentwater and close to Lake Bassenthwaite, and the natural beauty of the West Cumbrian Coast. Hadrian’s Wall is within 25 miles, while the Scottish Borders, and Gretna Green, are within easy reach.
