The property

Nestled in the heart of Grasmere, Cumbria House is a remarkably spacious and welcoming property.

Boasting fantastic views of the Lake District, it is perfectly suited for families and friends seeking an unforgettable getaway.

Filled with natural light, the living spaces are thoughtfully designed for stylish, social, and comfortable living.

Arrive in the heart of the village and park in the designated space before heading towards the property.

Step inside and you are welcomed into the entrance area, where you can hang coats and store boots on the bench after a day out, with the washing machine conveniently positioned here to take care of outdoor gear with ease.

From this point, ascend the stairs and arrive into the open-plan living space, where the main hub of the home unfolds.

At the top of the stairs, settle into the seating area with a sofa and armchair, offering a place to pause and unwind.

The space opens around you, leading through to the central dining area where a large table takes centre stage, with a piano nearby adding character and a focal point for gathering together.

Near the window, a smaller circular table offers a quieter spot, ideal for breakfast or an evening board game while looking out towards the village.

Continue around the corner within this same open-plan space to reach the kitchen, where wooden fixtures create a warm setting for preparing meals while enjoying views towards the trees.

Here, cooking becomes part of the social experience, with everything close to hand for preparing and sharing meals together.

From the open-plan area, move through into an additional sitting room, where two sofas, two armchairs and a large Smart TV create a separate space to relax.

Light filters in through the window, where views across the village provide a gentle backdrop whether you are watching a film, reading, or enjoying a quiet drink.

Leading on from this room, you will find the family shower room, complete with a spacious walk-in shower, before stepping into the first king-size bedroom, where wardrobes and an armchair offer both practicality and a place to unwind at the end of the day.

Return to the open-plan living space and take the stairs up to the next level, where the remaining bedrooms are arranged.

One king-size room offers a dressing table and views beyond, along with its own en-suite shower room for added ease when getting ready.

Along the corridor, the twin room sits beneath Velux windows, where natural light fills the space, complemented by a desk and storage.

Completing the layout is a further king-size bedroom, where wooden beams add character, alongside a sofa for relaxing and an en-suite shower room featuring a corner shower.

Step outside and within a short walk you will find a pub serving food and drinks, as well as a nearby shop for picking up essentials, while gentle strolls lead you towards both the river and the lake for time spent by the water.

Explore Dove Cottage and the Wordsworth Museum, step inside the ancient 7th-century grounds of St Oswald's Church, and sample the iconic Grasmere Gingerbread, crafted from Sarah Nelson's original 1854 recipe.

Head out the front door for gentle walks to Easedale Tarn, Rydal Cave, or walk around the breath taking Grasmere Lake.

For more ambitious adventurers, the iconic ridges of Helvellyn and Scafell Pike sit within easy reach.

Venture slightly further afield to discover the vibrant charm of Ambleside, Windermere, and Keswick, all just a short drive or bus ride away.

For a holiday to remember with your family and friends, adventure awaits you at Cumbria House.

GRASMERE

Ambleside 5 miles; Windermere 9 miles; Keswick 13 miles.

Situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park is the lovely village of Grasmere, probably best known as the home of William Wordsworth, a place he once described as "The most loveliest spot that man hath found". Any visit to Grasmere needs to include The Grasmere Gingerbread shop, where the Wilson family has been making gingerbread for over 60 years. Also in the village are a number of shops, pubs, a church which dates back to the 13th century, and Grasmere Lake. Grasmere Sports takes place every August, where you can watch participants compete in a variety of sports, including Cumberland wrestling. Just five miles away is the town of Ambleside and Lake Winderemere where you will find shops, pubs, restaurants and the 17th century Bridge House, which is one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District. Cruises, boat trips and watersports can all be enjoyed on Lake Windermere, and the towns of Windermere and Keswick are also within driving distance. Grasmere is a wonderful base for your Lake District retreat.
