Description

Newlands Cottage is set within the peaceful and scenic Newlands Valley, close to the popular market town of Keswick, and offers a welcoming single-storey retreat for couples, families or friends seeking a restful break in the Lake District.

Surrounded by rolling fells and open countryside, the cottage provides a calm base from which to enjoy both gentle walks and more challenging outdoor pursuits.

Inside, the accommodation is thoughtfully laid out to suit a variety of guests.

The sitting room offers a comfortable place to relax after a day exploring the area, complete with an electric fire and Smart TV for evening entertainment.

The spacious kitchen/diner is well equipped for preparing meals, with plenty of room to sit together and plan the next day’s adventures.

Large windows allow natural light to fill the space, enhancing the sense of openness and connection to the surrounding landscape.

There are two attractively arranged bedrooms, each offering their own facilities for added privacy.

The double room includes a TV and en-suite bathroom with a bath, while the twin bedroom benefits from its own TV and an en-suite walk-in shower.

This layout works well for families or friends travelling together, allowing everyone their own space at the end of the day.

Off-road parking is available for two cars, and shared external bike storage makes the cottage particularly appealing for cyclists.

Four-legged companions are also welcome, making it easy to enjoy countryside rambles with your dog.

Newlands Cottage offers a peaceful base in a beautiful valley, perfectly placed for discovering the lakes, fells and villages that make the Lake District so special.

I loved this place and will definitely visit again, only issues we had were sofas being too low and squishy, I’d love to bring my Dad next year but he’d never get his bum up off those sofa’s!

Drawer unit in second room needs handles replacing (this would probably cost less that £20) and flooring near shower room needs replacing where there has been a leak. Yes you can hear every noise from upstairs neighbours but honestly I was so relaxed this didn’t bother me as much as it would normally.

The directions were not clear at all.

We found an entry on the IPhone map for the “actual location” as others must’ve struggled too. Cottage clean although in need of tlc. Many door handles missing, boiler door broken, huge fix to floor covered partially by a rug.

A lovely get away from it all cottage.

Walks from the door and spectacular views to come back too. Everything you need in the cottage both rooms with en-suite. A Spa pass was a really nice addition much appreciated. Overall a wonderful time. Just be aware there's accommodation above and can get some noise in the morning as they move around. Also found direction confusing so what three words from other guest helped or head for Birkrigg on OS maps its there. Things owner might like to consider or look at. I think a bench outside the door to sit and take the great view after a long walk would be a great addition. The chest of draws in twin room some new handles most draws only had one instead of two. The floor outside the loo in twin room screws a little proud if the mat moves. We were woken in the mornings by young children running around but we've been there a few years ago now, and that didn't spoil the experience.
